I loved this movie so much. An absolute delight.
Woody's best film ever, bar none. It's brilliant.
definitely his most underrated. It's sooo funny.
I literally just watched it. I found it utterly hilarious and heartbreaking. I'm a 30 yr old lead guitar player/multi instrumentalist/composer since I was 12 hahaha ... not on such a dramatic level but was definitely drawing a few comparisons ... XD
Also a big film craft nut, and agreed, defo the best woody film I've seen yet!!
one of my favourite films !! ❤ Love this film ! Thank you, Mr. Allen for so many beautiful movies !
Hi, great video! That’s me pulling focus behind Woody and Zhao Fei at 4:55.
Just wanted to point out that Fei did speak some English - not fluently, but enough to communicate with us. He hated using the translator.
It was pretty surreal when that whole scenario turned up as a plot device in “Hollywood Ending”.
I love Sweet & Lowdown! Sean Penn's performance is stunning! He took guitar lessons and played amazingly in the film. The movie is sad, funny, sweet and melancholic.
Sean Penn didn't play he faced it .
Howard Alden played the guitar parts Penn pretends to play.
I have a notion to second that emotion ! This film, "Interiors" & "Crimes and Misdemeanors" are my three favorite Woody Allen movies.
Yeah, he definitely wasn’t actually playing
He took guitar lessons to better mime playing guitar
Yessir, he did what Ralph Machio did for Crossroads as well as Johnny Depp (who plays guitar but not as good as in the movie) for Chocolat. They call it "facing/mirrored/fuddled" however, they all did a great job in my opinion. I think gypsy jazz would be the most difficult to even pretend to play 😆
VERY interesting video ! THANKS so much for sharing ! Quite informative & entertaining !
I love this film. At the time, id been playing guitar for 2 yrs and this movie was such an inspiration and reaffirmation that I wasn't crazy. But all guitarists are
I love this movie, the jazz music and Django Reinhardt. Haha i actually found a copy of this movie along with a bunch of others at Dollar Tree. Just couldn't believe they were selling it there for just a dollar as i don't usually see dvd's at a store like that.
The only time Woody Allen plays himself in a film? Puh-leez.
One thing: it's Federico, not Frederico Fellini. This series is great! Thanks.
Great!
My opinion.....His last masterpiece
What's the name of the guitar track playing on the very first credits?!!
When Day is Done - Django Reinhardt
