Yes. Out of all the Nightwish songs I've heard, and I've heard at least half of them, this tops em all for me. The... shouldn't say this, a secret you all know when you've seen it, but.... Phantom of The Opera, is the twisted monster enjoying getting hit and hitting back, having fun, and the sacred soul interacting with it. Man I love it. Those two combine in this song kinda, Monster and the Sacred Soul. The result? Hm...
Tarja and Floor are both awesome, this is my favorite version because of Marko. Andre Lloyd Weber has seen this, and loved it.
This performance was 2005 in Helsinki (End of an Era DVD) , same show as the Everdream video with Tarja you watched.

After this performance, Tarja (The female singer) was kicked from the band with an open letter. In 2017 Tarja and Marko (The male singer) performed together at a christmas show and that´s when Marko and Tarja reconnected and later in 2023 they performed the Phantom of the opera together at one of Tarja´s shows. They saw how much people loved that they´re performing together again after 18 years and Marko wanted Tarja to feature on his new song "Left on mars".
An interview dropped yesterday and Marko told that they have no bad blood between them nowadays and they have talked through everything that happened almost two decades ago, and they did multiple shows together in 2023. Just lovely.

While I’m not always a fan of live recordings- I feel like the studio is where the artist(s) can fine-tune and rework each song for the best version possible- this onstage rendition is simply phenomenal. It’s theatric, dramatic, and the group just nailed the most perfect metal version ever.

This song/video always blows me away. This is the only song I prefer Tarja over Floor singing. Tarja just has that perfect voice for it.

I'm a Floor Jansen nut; she's my joint-favourite vocalist of all time along with Freddie Mercury. But Tarja is also incredible, and tbh some songs are more suited to her. Deep Silent Complete being one example of the top of my head

I do not claim to know everything but will share this with you. I believe Andrew Lloyd Webber, who wrote the play (I am not sure about the song) said this is his favorite version.
Tarja was fired after this concert. She has hooked up with Marko again and are singing this sometimes on tour.
Marko left the band and is making music again.
I love Floor but this version just comes together. Marko's voice and his presence add to the performance. I also like the yellow or orange she is wearing.
As others have mentioned, "High Hopes" (Nightwish's cover/tribute of Pink Floyd) fromt his same concert is fantastic. Marko sings that one. Also, at some point, check out Marko & Tarja's recent "Left on Mars".
If you want to hear a master piece from Nightwish check out "Beauty Of the Beast" the only live versions don't have great audio, I'd suggest the lyric video for the best experience.
now you know why the dismissing of tarja was so painfull, as the poet and pendelum portrayed, tarja may be the best female opera singer ever, she has her own solo stuff as well

The next Nightwish song is very simple lovely ladies. As you enjoy The Phantom of the Opera so much, take Floor and Henk live together with Nightwish in Amsterdam !!
For me the best version, the end is utterly amazing especially because I did hear it two nights in a row within 10m away from Floor. Her voice is incredible powerfull live and up close. As a Floor fan since the late 90’s for me there is no one more versatile and better live since. Don’t get me wrong I also love (this version with) Tarja our first NW Queen !!
I can tell you they filtered quite some audience sound away because the Dutchies went nuts as this act was promised after the tv show you already seen. But they had to wait for end of COVID, the concerts were postponed for over a year !
It wasn’t on the official setlist, but the diehard fans knew this was surely going to be performed.

When it comes to Tarja and Floor i really like them both equally but sometimes i get more in "the feels" with certain Floor songs and sometimes more with certain Tarja songs and this one is for sure a "Tarja-moment" for me even though this song wasn't written for her 🙏

Man I like Tarja alot. She and Marko singing Phantom is amazing. Really glad to see they are working together again. Tarja singing Sleeping Sun introduced me to Nightwish maybe 7-8 years ago. Her time in Nightwish is way overlooked today because of Floor's incredible presence. I'm a huge fan of Floor but I can't forget my reaction to Tarja. Check out Tarja doing NEMO from this same concert. As good as Floor's version is at Wachen 2013, Tarja's version is WHOA ! ! Also, if you wanna see Marko at his very best check out High Hopes from this concert also. It's a jaw dropper.
