As an older person not a mile away from retirement age completely new to Adobe in all its forms I am eternally grateful for this tutorial. Obviously I have gone through it a number of times and will no doubt do so again, but the clarity and calm presentation with no annoying additional elements could not be better. One love.

Back in it's earlier stages of select and mask the refine edge brush tool was great but sometimes it does struggle with harder to separate colours so for this picture the spikes were bright and similar to the sky so what it did was remove the spikes but kept the shadows leaving a weird looking shadow behind haha so it's not always a bad thing to put in some labour lol. As you start to remove more and more backgrounds you start to notice the problems that this tool has
Thanks for great contents and the video, I have trouble here is that I can't change thickness of path, it doesn't allow me to change except the "Rubber Band" section, Any help?
Try going to *Edit* > *Preferences* > *Guides, Grid & Slices* and change the path colour and thickness in there then press ok and it will apply the changes
@@VerticDesigns unfortunately, I tried this and I could change to 3 px from Preferences and only color changed and not the thickness, this is weird I cannot find the solution from google. I also tried reset factory with complete reinstall.

for some reason when I finish with the pen tool and then use select and mask it highlights only the inside of the selected area but not the outside
