LMS 8F No. 48624 A Spark-tacular Run to Rawtenstall

  • In this video we see the on-loan soul-surviving Southern Railways built LMS 8F No. 48624 from the Great Central Railway covering the route from Bury to Heywood and Rawtenstall on the East Lancashire Railway.
    On her last visiting day the crew put her through her paces taking on Broadfield Bank and then opening her up through Brooksbottom Tunnel, sparks flying as she went.
    This unique opportunity allows us to see the only Southern Railways built 8F steaming in a different part of the country to where it usually resides on the GCR.

      @@joethrelfall6370 the footplate was full. Its also not something that is allowed every day and passes are required now for that I think. I have been on 8624 before though at GC
