- Coming from the US, we thought we knew something about Mexican foods, but in this video we're trying 8 traditional Yucatan foods we had never even heard of!
We hope you enjoy this DIY Merida food tour! We had so much fun making this video. We got to try some of the most delicious foods we had in our entire trip throughout the Yucatan Peninsula! Merida definitely has an incredible food scene and you can't miss out on trying these Mexican foods or visiting these Merida restaurants.

I had no idea that there was so much turkey on the menu. Besides the yummy foods, I learned two new things: why all the turkey (makes sense now why we eat it for TGiving!) and that Gordo’s fave dessert is flan ;)
Yes, isn't that crazy!? It surprised us too! And flan is def the go-to when it's on the menu (also when my mom makes it 🤣)

You guys ate so much good food. I was in Yucatán in March. It was so hot I didn't have much of an appetite.
Merida's food is so delicious! It was also VERY HOT when we were there in April, but we are always hungry no matter what LOL but for real though, it is so crazy how hot it can get there!! We were so so sweaty the entire time!
I hope you got to try the chaya agua fresca. That drink is so refreshing.
@@rookiemaquillage yes we tried it several times with pineapple. It was so refreshing and very needed almost every day!

Great fun video would be nice to show prices at the restaurants . I keep hearing that the prices are high or are getting high .
Thanks so much! So glad to hear you liked it. We did share the prices on the things we ate in this video (the total we paid at each place). We don't know if the prices are getting higher because it was our first time visiting Mexico, but we found Merida and Campeche to be a lot cheaper than Cozumel, Cancun and even Valladolid. My guess is that things are getting more expensive as more Americans visit this part of Mexico, but honestly there are still cities that remain affordable.
