A young 20 year old Paul Sarah for Geelong who came to Richmond in their premiership year in 1980 was quite a good player but unfortunately missed playing in the GF the year he came to Richmond, was one of my favourites at Richmond retiring at the end of 83 which was a disappointing year for Richmond after coming runners up in the previous years grand final.

I went to my first game at The Junction the week before this. I also went to see the Cats absolutely destroyed by the reigning Premiers the following season, also at Waverley.
Interesting to see Whale absolutely starring here, and a young Teaser too. Jackson in his first game and all three would be swapped for Pitura, a move that Richmond never really recovered from. Also great to see Wood, who was an absolute superstar. Greig won two Brownlows but he lowered his colors to Wood every time they lined up on each other.

Really odd seeing future Port Adelaide star Full Forward lingering in the backline for Geelong

He was a fantastic player and a great high mark - CHB in my Cats 18. Pity his son is such an unco dud.
