I actually wanted to see that kind of level. Basically levels that 'seem' like normal levels, but won't allow you to beat it the normal way. Instead there's dev routes hidden all over the place that aren't easily found.

Yeah but when the normal way of beating the stage is literally impossible and the skips become mandatory then it becomes bad design
@@sunnydraws2513 I mean the level name literally says that you need to cheat to win. What's bad design is Nintendo still not translating the Japanese name in English for the international audience and the English name in Japanese for the Japanese audience. And don't tell me that would be hard to do, it's really not, there are lots of programs that can do that automatically now.

Good catch! The gameplay video is exactly the same, just the facecam is not. So for whatever reason they decided to show the same death twice, but make it look like it is another one. Maybe to hide the real death at 11 lives? Idk why but yeah

Yeah, and at the end you can see that it is possible to jump out of the water and get the goal, so it might very well be possible to ignore the entire level. With that said, considering that swimming is a bit slow I do wonder if it would get the world record.

what about the crazy shell speedrun level that had a door at the end?
the door at the end goes to another door located in the ceiling, which is impossible to get to, so just for show, there is however another door at the very start of that level, which goes to a fake dev path that kills you with a fireball.

You can use a level viewer online, it was a fake dev exit
In my experience, levels that feature blatantly naked pipes are basically always in some way terrible. It's like the calling card of questionable course design. There were a lot of them in this video.
