- We are out in the garden trying to harvest the tiny little bit of produce that it has given us this year, as well as moving our new meat bird chicks to fresh grass for the first time.

I have to stop everything!..the Hollars have posted..LillyBit is growing so fast..won’t be long she and Buggy are gonna be running around together helping Daddy work on the homestead!❤❤❤. ( I love the Homestead shoptalk podcast!)
Can't both be Lily.😊
Meg and Ben your baby is adorable...❤
Yes, on the wee ones.
Yes on Shoptalk podcast ❤😊
Elizabeth
Lilyanna and Elizabeth. I am pretty sure calling both girls Lily would be like George Foreman calling all his kids George lol.
Millie is a magic cat😊
Millie does not like the tractor starting(11:46 - 11:50)...gone like a 🚀...cat scat? Great video Hollars!
Thank you for the visit! Love y'all!
It’s good to see a Hollar post, thanks for sharing your life with us. Your life seems to be relatively calm with 6 children (or else you don’t post the drama).
Hey Ben don’t give up on that fig we had one for years and this year it’s loaded. I guess our fig is about 5-6 years old.
That is one happy baby!
Your daughter is so adorable!, You make beautiful and handsome children. When I see her it stirs up my grandmother genes again, my grandkids are all adults now and I look forward to cuddling great grandchildren. Thanks for sharing your life with us!
My youngest granddaughter who lived next door to me with her mom left for college on Tuesday. My heart is breaking, but, I know that this is a new adventure for her and she'll be alright.
Ditto!
Both daughters or just the one?
Look at all. Those tomatoesl! BLT’s!
Buggy is so sweet ! ❤
That melon everyone likes save your seeds 😍
where can I buy the melon seeds
Yes!!!
"I like it hot." She cracks me up!
Your content is refreshingly authentic, keeps me coming back for more!
TIP: To label plants, use old window blinds. Cut all the strings and bulky tops and bottoms off, then cut the straps to size. I cut mine in an angle on one side to poke into the dirt easier.
Our most heavily father, look down on this family and bless them for opening their home to us!
Aman god bless this family
Cowboy candy on bagel with cream cheese is a go to for me now. ❤
I appreciate that you have given space for a new baby and are not afraid to share the reality of a different but still great season for your family. Any interruption to the structures you build take a bit to rebuild a new flow of life. I value this time with you and your family.
I am sure you already know this lol but if you make an essential oil soap, it works really well to keep the bugs at bay. We are LOVED by mosquitoes and we make our own bug repellent soap and it does work for us
I love listening to my 3 favorite homies shootin the breeze! 💖And omgoodness Elizabeth is growing so fast and is oh so talkative! She is so precious💞
Oh, your precious baby girl is so sweet. Her interaction with Meg made me smile. It's a shame they grow so fast.
I love watching your videos. It reminds me of where I was younger. I'm 73,and it takes me back to the good Ole days. Love you and your whole family.
Good to see the clan sharing their meal!!!😊🎉❤
Good evening beautiful people ❤.
First comment today.
Can't wait for the fall. Im done with summer
Love jungles too. It means you’ve grown something (in amongst all the weeds)
Thanks for letting us visit
See you on 61 FRIDAY SHOPTALK.
THANK YOU FOR A FAMILY VLOG TONIGHT.
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I love ALL The Hollar Homestead videos!
Y’all are such a blessing to my life I’m sure many people feel the same way Y’all are the true meaning of family Sweet blessings to you all ❤
Ben you got it covered Meg you also got it covered.. Love this family ❤ Byeee
Watching your video is such a great way to wind down after working in my garden, taking care of my chickie-girls, and cows.
The perfect ending to a blessed day!
Thanks for sharing your sweet family and life with us.❤❤❤😊
My tomatoes have come to their end too. Just like everyone I need to clean out my tiny space & get ready for fall.
Transplant the Texas fig into the high tunnel and I bet it bears fruit next year.
Absolutely HILARIOUS 😂Spicy loving MICE! Your garden still looks so beautiful and green weeds and all…. Those figs belong in Neverland❤
Love the video! Thanks for sharing with us!! ❤❤❤
Oh, but you're raising the best possible fruit: that sweet joyful girl:)))
Thanks Ben for pushing through and making another great video, I really appreciate it.
Elizabeth is such a gorgeous little girl! She looks a lot like Meg to me. You guys are awesome. I wish my own sons had grown up like that, but we were career Air Force and couldn't homestead until they were halfway through college. You're doing great, guys. Always enjoy your attitude and your talents. You inspire me (though I'm old enough to be your mom). ~Cynthia, N. GA mountains
A great idea for your blog would be to share all your bug knowledge. Show us the bugs to battle against, what you have tried, and what you found that works the best. There is a lot more to learn about homesteading. People used to study bugs as a hobby, but we don't hear about it so much anymore.
Love the way that one of your young fella's proficiently backed up the quad to get the feeders etc. from the chicken tractor. 13:27-13:29
It worth your time to listen to homestead shop talk. I look forward to Friday to watch the guys it’s funny
She is such a cutie! She looks just like you mommy! I love how she is smiling and talking with you. I love watching you guys.
I enjoy your videos. God bless yall greatly. The little one! Is so precious.😊😊
Nothing like fresh picked green beans. That crunch!
Hunting for buried treasure for sure but oh so worth it! Always appreciate getting to tag along no matter what the Hollar Family is up to! LOL! Blessings on the Hollar Family Homestead!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕
Love the shop talk, as well as this.all good.❤❤❤
Your videos are like a window into your world, love the view!
Hello 👋 Ben and Meg, my wife found a product that works great for mosquitoes here in west Tennessee. It’s called Nantucket Spider, it’s deet free and made from essential oils. I joke with her about it being my new cologne because it smells so good. I hope this helps with mosquitoes for you too. Have a wonderful week and stay safe, blessings to you, family and friends. Bill and Cate, 40 Shades of Green Farm, Jackson Tennessee
Where do you buy that? I live in Texas and this would be Great!
@@beverlydelk8750 we get ours at a local grocery store. I just checked Amazon and they have a few different blends for different bugs. The one we use is for mosquitoes specifically
Thank you Ben and Meg for all of your hard work in bringing us your videos! I enjoy each and every one
Seems like Buggy was born with the appetite of a teenage boy! 😅
I also describe my garden as a jungle at this time of year. It's wonderful!!! Thank you for your videos, you greatly bless my day and life.
Little house on the prairie! that's what shop talk reminds me of, the guys sitting around the fire talking.
Hollar Time!! Let's see what's happening on our favorite Homestead! ☺
I love seeing the baby. She’s so cute and good natured.
I have neighboors from your home town.
She wears the most beautiful
Clothes and head coverings.
Beautiful colors. GOD BLESS YOU.

Beautiful baby girl❤!!
Hi guys :) ! Say, on the rope vrs. cable on the chicken tractors, we have been fairly happy using chain in the past. IDK the size, but a modest sized link, tough enough to handle the load. Attached to the structure with eye bolts, and just loop middle of it over a ball hitch to gently drag it behind our lawn tractor or by hand ( ideally when wearing gloves but I can go a short ways without). Lasts for idk how many years, as we have sold or disassembled some when moving again & again, but seem ready to outlast most other options. God bless !
Great idea! Could also slide a piece of old garden hose onto the chain to make it a little easier on the hands for pulling. 👍 🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕
Mosquitos loved me and hated my husband. I started taking vitamin B for my carpal tunnel
20+ years ago. It cured my carpal tunnel and as an added benefit, mosquitos stopped liking me. I haven't had a mosquito bite in over 20 years. It took a month or two before I noticed.
I take B1 every day. Used to be continually bit, now don’t even use bug spray.
Well, while the garden isn't flourishing, that beautiful baby girl is! I feel like your babies grow faster than bamboo!
Try growing a ceyanne pepper pepper from the north. Your state has similar growing zone as Washington state. Or try one that has a shorter maturity rate. Love all the work you guys :)
Your family is an inspiration.
Nothing wrong with that garden. Plants want to grow. Don't beat yourself up!
Thanks for sharing your day in the garden and greenhouse.
Heya, oh yeah I like it too wen the garden turns in to a jungle
I live in Arizona and just love seeing all the green on your homestead. Whether it produces or not, it feeds my soul.
Lillybit is growing so beautiful! I love the way she talks, also it depends on tour blood type as to whether or not mozzies eat you! Lol
Wow, look at all those tomatoes. No, you can feed those to the pigs they would love them.❤
Oh I love the baby! ❤
Meg, could you please film it when you make your cowboy candy?
So much this...
Enjoyed watching you for years and feel you are my extended family.
Love how happy the baby looked even if tired. Fun watching you find harvest in the green house a in d in the garden. A successful move of the chicken coop.
I really enjoyed this video the family that prays together stays together thank you very much
Guys, it is sad for all those tomatoes to be wasted. This is a suggestion: next season, you should have the boys in charge, with the harvesting. Like that all the work you have put in it will be used and enjoy. Its hard with having a large family and every day situations, but, things will work out for everyones benefits. Enjoy each moment it is God's Blessings. I hope you dont mind my suggestion, Iam a mother and grandmother, or shall we say, "been there, done that"
Blessing to all.❤
Don’t give up on the fig. It took four years for mine to start fruiting. Picked 7 gallons of figs this year!
I was looking at that baby you were carrying a little bit. She is growing so fast. How is buggy doing with her? I can’t wait to see the little one walking around with buggy playing dolls helping in the garden. Oh my goodness how are the boys knowing is two girls in the house now Family is growing fast.. just looking at all the boys and seeing how fast they’ve grown goodness that’s such a big help all of them before you know it the boys will be grown and moving out and getting married when you become grandparents I know I’m rushing things but think about it😂❤❤❤❤
Our garden produced well and was getting near the end when my husband was hospitalized for 8 days then came home and we both got covid; so the garden was neglected for 3 weeks. We went out today to start clearing it out to prep for fall and saw a copperhead. So, that ended my gardening day.
It's crazy to say this but I'm so encouraged to see crazy summer overgrowth at your place too. Homesteading can be wild and I'm trying to be here for it. Thank you for all you do, whether you know how much you help or not. 😂🎉😅❤
Hey y’all! For mosquitos, it’s Mountain Mint and you rub the leaves on your skin 👍🏻 as per The Green Pharmacy by Duke 😊 also basil in the same way
Always a pleasure visiting your family.
Dan I would like to see your prefab wood/metal work too.
Baby Elizabeth is Adorable💖 just so Precious💫
After 8 years my fig tree is as tall as yours and it has little green figs all over it! Yay!!! So… please be patient, because it will happen. I did plant a 2nd one about 4 years ago and it’s only about 2 feet tall. Again, I will be patient. It does take a few years. I am hoping mine turn ripe before winter.
Hang in there and let the fig tree grow! Tell it to grow!!! 😊
If the electric pole next to has creosote on it or soaked in it, this will cause a plant near it to not produce. Just move it to a new location if this is possible. I made a mistake a few years back placing railroad ties around my blueberry plants and they never grew blueberries that were all the way ripe till we moved them. Just an idea. … best to wait, or move it.
Maybe Buggy didn’t instruct it to grow after it was planted LOL
Don't give up on the fig tree! It could take 5-8 years to bare frying and will bare freut for your great- great grand kids
Great gardens; wild gardens are my style! I love seeing your lovely family & thanks for sharing tidbits of your lives & how to do things. Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
If you have salvageable cherry tomatoes, make a fresh sauce from it. Cherry tomatoes were the only tomatoes that worked for us this year. So I made a fresh sauce with celery, carrots, peppers, garlic, onions and chicken broth. Then added some tomatoe paste after the cherry tomatoes burst. Tasted really good. The next day I blended the sauce and made a fresh tomatoe soup with it. I’m hoping to can some of the sauce when we get more cherry tomatoes.
I didn't get any red cherry tomatoes this summer, only a little bit of yellow pear. Love the little ones.
I am with Meg, I don't do hot, but I grow tons of jalapenos for making cowboy candy. It is so good. Thanks for posting another awesome and wholesome video. God Bless!
I wanna come drive up there 2 hours and come help y’all one weekend!! 😊
I never got bit by mosquitoes, until I moved to Mexico. I guess whatever the northern mosquitoes didn't like about me the southern ones love.
Meg I love your hairbow.
If you have an old garden hose with holes in it you can cut a length from it and put your pull rope through it to help it last a bit longer. I use chain for mine but it hurts to pull on it so I put on the garden hose and it works really well. Just need enough to give you a handle. Don't make the hose piece too long.
Your new little one is Soooo precious!!
Thanks for posting your life. I really enjoy your content!
Baby Elizabeth is simply beautiful. I hope she inherits Ben's ability not to attract mosquitoes. I get eaten up the instant I go outside. :( Kind of a drag when you want to be in the garden! Happy fall gardening, everyone!
I never get noticed when you guys post, and i have them on. You guys are my comfort channel. I hope to go to one of you pig classes! I'm glad to see you guys have been having a good summer.
With 4 growing boys, I'm sure thiers never enough meat. And looks like buggy definately has a healthy appetite too
You had a parade! Towing the chicken tractor and the water tank. 😂 My garden is wild like your garden. I have to look for the basil.
Don’t know what kind of fig tree I have because it was here when I bought my house but mine didn’t produce until I trimmed it back. The first year after I trimmed it didn’t produce much but the 2nd year I had more than I could use. Something about trimming it kicked it into gear.
You guys did do a pretty good garden for what you were going through. Millie! Nice tomatoes. Too bad about the new tomato attacker bugs! Yup, go for the Fall garden. Nice peppers! Yay, green beans! Nice, enough Jalapenos to make a batch of cowboy candy! Too bad the Texas ever bearing fig has been a never bearing fig. I love the happy baby cooing! Luffa tunnel! Nice, putting the meat birds out on grass! Put hose over the cable and it'll work really well for a chicken tractor handle. Darn, the water barrel split! Yum, short ribs teriyaki style, canned green beans, and buns made in the morning for dinner! Need more meat on those short ribs! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
Baby girl is out there catching smells, enjoying the view, snuggling mam thinking yeah I picked the right family ❤
Sweet video. Fall is in the air already here in our part of the Puget Sound. Seems early. I am planning on trying peas again for Fall. They sure didn't like Spring this year. I am going to plant more beets and carrots too. I love ShopTalk! Thanks.
Love love your videos! Your baby girl is beautiful! Thanks hot sharing ❤️
I always wondered what the tomato hornworm would look like. They are so green, I thought there would be a little more of that.
Yalls homestead is beautiful
Your family is so chill. You are truly blessed.
Much love from NW Ontario Can.
Good evening guys love watching your family. It’s been a while.😊❤ precious, little girl absolutely She favors just her sister buggy.
