I think the show intended to weirdly make us root for nick
It’s just me, Leena by making everyone else into clueless morons.
I was so sad when Nick told her friend they can't be friends and when she said I'm a good talker 😢😢😢
@james bearden that is the ONLY part of the show that made me sad.
EXACTLY, I WANTED PEOPLE TO NOTICE THAT. #justiceforRiley
I thought this show was really good. It is a family show that doesn't shy away from some darker themes. I thought it was well done, they handled the balance between the light laugh track sequences with the current of Nick's long con and the darker themes that comes from. No good Nick actually reminded me of Boy Meets World- Silly but also taking on some heavy topics with balance.
I agree. I’ve only watched one episode so far but i love it.
AtsircEcarg it’s feminist propaganda, or at least that’s wat it seem to me

HAVE YOU SEEN PART TWO!?!
I a 24 year old man actually sat down searching for netflix series to watch and came across this no good nick, i was surprised that i would actually enjoy a show directed for kids. Normally i stay away from "background laughter shows" like this, but i thoroughly liked the concept and i think the show has very good elements to it for it to become as some mentioned a kid version of scandal. But i do hope however they make a grown up version of this for us, and i'm not thinking about "revenge" even though it is a good show also.
I didn't even hate the show, it was just...average. I binged the show all at once and it was just....eh. It felt very safe
I love edgy shows but i also like a little cheesy in my life. I liked the show.
I'm in my mid 20s and I loved this show. It's not a bad script it's not cheesy and you're missing the biggest part of the show... Nick is developing a conscience throughout the series and yeah... she knows it's wrong, she also knows it's what she needs to do.
at the same time part of me wishes that the lies would stop and the truth would come out and the series can go forward in a different direction but still go on anyways yes maybe it is a kids story, and maybe the family is too naïve for their own good but you know what... all it does is paints a picture of compassion at a level that really hasn't existed since the age of full house fresh prince or home improvement, AND YES GOD DAMN IT THAT IS A GOOD THING ! ! ! I'm not dense I know all three of those shows have aged poorly but it's only because people today don't accept the truth that the world has the right to be innocent the shows aren't the problem it's the people who reject them that are the problem.
It's literally shit we've seen this before and I'm thirty 😊
I really enjoyed this show and I can totally see it airing on Nickelodeon. I am a huge fan of the early 2000s Nick shows and this was really along the same lines for me.
The ending got me so much we need season 2 asap
it's definitely a binge-able show; I watched it in one sitting. While the show was quite cheesy, I disliked it because the characters were very unlikable. Nick was cruel (I was never able to sympathize with her), Molly cared about helping people just so that she could post about it on social media (that is an awful reason to help people), and Jeremy was a little too ambitious. The characters I liked were the parents, and they were naive. Why can't producers focus on making characters that are personable and likable? This was a great review, Austin!
in my opinion, i think they made the characters unlikable in a way bc i guess it's the reality nowadays? i mean i sympathize with nick bc she needed to do that so she can provide the money to get her dad out of jail and be with him again, it shows how people can go through great lengths just to be with the person they love, and i guess her mom isn't in the picture and she doesn't seem to have siblings so her dad is the only family that she has left. in my case, this is what i think and its my opinion since i watched all the episodes and i'm waiting for s2 ;-; pls don't be mad or anything, im just stating what i think rip
@@ashedale36 you're entitled to your opinion:) I admit I am not the target audience; I am older than the people who will find the show fun.
I cannot say I was sure of which age the show was aiming for when I watched it but I honestly loved the show myself, sure the parents are a bit naive and everything was kind of made in a repetitive manor as stated in the video. Though I thought I might just share my way of viewing movies or series in general. Most people at or above the age of 16 years old (+ or - some years depending on the person) watch a show thinking about the setting, plot/plotarmor, character development and all that stuff. I did that at first and I noticed that I found less shows enjoyable. Instead I put everything aside and focus on the story, what does the story tell you and why do the characters act, speak or think the way they do? Those are to me more important questions. I am not going to claim that this is the correct way to watch anything because honestly I doubt that myself but I recommend giving this point of view a try at one point. Try focusing on the reason behind actions or the story itself. It doesn't have to be a great script or likable characters in order to tell a captivating story. With this said I hope you enjoy the rest of the day.
I didn’t think the acting was very good and they were all just a bit awkward but I liked the storyline and theme
Austin: I just don’t have time to watch that show.
Also Austin: - watched 72h hours of tv/movies in 24h -
I think in order to like the show, you have to get past the surface level cheesy comedy. The characters seem really campy and unlikeable at first, but especially everyone in Nick’s backstory (Dad, Foster Parents) are so multi-faceted. Nick herself is so complex. She’s doing all these horrible criminal things, but all the pressures she’s under are so terrifying. She’s really a broken kid and it’s painful to watch her. The parents and siblings also have these moments of depth that make it more interesting. You’re right though, they never go as deep as you want. But I don’t think it’s trying to.
I think the balance between the moments of hilarity and the more serious moments could be better because it does feel awkward at times. You don’t know sometimes whether to cringe or laugh, but this is a show trying to do something really cool. Personally, I hope they get more seasons to explore these characters and develop their complexities. The humor is a little Fuller house-esque, but the gravity of the plot is very similar to Orange Is The New Black. And if they can find a good balance of that, this show could be really great.
I love the show & I can’t wait for either part 2 or season 2 however they decide to name it. The show kept me on my toes wondering if Nick was going to get caught or was she actually going to rob the family or get a love interest. Can we just take a moment to recognize the chemistry between Nick & Jeremy towards the end AFTER they forgave each other...😩I was shipping it so hard! Plus he said that he wanted to dated Nick BEFORE he actually got to know her in the first episode. The show is totally bingeable! I honestly don’t even pay attention to laugh tracks...I didn’t even hear it so I don’t think of the show as cheesy but as drama with light hearted moments.
I think this show could’ve been better if they added more emotion and personality to each character instead of being stereotypes. At first I found Nick’s acting horrible but it got better in part 2. I hope there’s more drama, and personality in each character. And a more better developed plot. Btw can’t wait for part 3!!
I loved this show so much it’s still my favorite show but I’m sad it was canceled :(
Am I the only person who find the show odd. I don't mind cheesiness. I don't know why people are bothered by cheesiness.
Nick pulling out the chloroform in order to drug the family was fuckin' wild, though
😂😂 right?!
Part 2 has just recently dropped on Netflix. Could you please do a review or a post-mortem of series. Despite being cheesy and having a weird way of scripting however part 2 is much darker and character development is more prominent.
Right? I love the show so much because of Part 2. I mean I actually enjoyed the rest, but that is what set it apart from some of the other sitcoms in my opinion. I loved their focus on rehabilitation, not revenge. As you can see Nick tell her dad in prison that she feels horrible for becoming someone she didn't want to be, and her actions wrecked the family but didn't give her peace. So the process of them all forgiving each other for the pain they caused was deep to me.
I really liked this show.a lot better than I expected.my one problem is the male characters.Ed is only one that manages to be likable throughout the season.Jeremy,Nick’s dad and foster dad are really unlikable until the finale episodes.
That's what they want you to do this show is like a sjw show you know they actually brought up mansplaining in one episode
İ don't know why but i ship Nick and Jeremy
I don't know why but ship Riley and Jeremy
You are not alone 🥰
Clearly the show was supposed to be on Nickelodeon, but given the fact that cable television is absolutely ass a streaming service picked it up. With that said this TV show was very, very, good. Very good! I applaud whatever Nickelodeon production studio for taking a step outside of the box and finally creating something that's worthy of watching. It's crazy how I binged watch this!
ive no watched it yet, but like u said grew up watching Sabrina so im excited
Good, looks like you survived CZcams jail, unlike some other people I follow. They got 10 day blocks for live reaction videos yesterday. So, this series, I'll check it out, only because I like some of these types of shows. I enjoy the mindless type of show every now and again. But all in all, I'll be watching this with the kids, I'm sure. Thanks Austin. See you next time! ✌🏿😀👍🏿
Hey Austin, planning to review Quicksand?
Listen I need you to review Norm of the North 2 😂 it came out this year, you can find it on CZcams
I tried, I really did. Fake crowed laughter, give it up. 90's are over Netflix. It is not coming back....just ✋ stop with the back laughter.
Then all of a sudden it gets serious, then all of a sudden ah uh .....uhhh...cause its not funny. Back ground laughs are almost uncomfortable. It's weird. Why would anyone vote for her???seriously?
**SPOILERS about the brother character, I forgot his name but whatever ha**
Am I the only one who shipped the brother with his chubby school friend in the first few episodes of the show even though we thought he was straight? I was like "y'know it would be cute if he was gay" and I don't even think of that kind of rep in shows ever but like 😂 well that was a surprise cause he was always talking about chicks and so you tend to assume 'confirmed hetero character as usual'.
This show was very good in my opinion I really liked it, and that was only part one of season one so there is a part two but it's not coming until in the fall of 2019, it might come out in September but I'm not so sure!
My dad watched this show like after a day I started watching it, he actually thought it was good but not the best while I liked it a lot. I am 12 turning 13 btw
There is so many laugh tracks in the show lol
Are you going to review The Tick?
Probably not due to it being so late after, but I would like to see season 2. Really dug season 1
please review part two
I loved the show im waiting for part 2
Season Two is more deeper in my than Season One in my opinion
Are You going to review 'Little'?
Probably not on CZcams but I will on Letterboxd!
This show is gonna go on teen nick a couple years from now lol
Oh gosh, Fuller House was such a crappy nostalgia-bait reboot BUT i trucked through it and I feel the most recent season was a lot better in comparison. Which is a pretty low bar given the first few seasons and the ungodly love triangle but yeah.
I got mad when they said tupac is a bad role model
Is a con artist living with a family cliche?
I don't think so?
My Name Is Tim he said the premise was cliched 😂
Yup but for gen z
im 19 and enjoyed the show
there are 10 episodes not 8
Haven’t seen the show but there is no way it could be more repetitive than your review.
i binge-watched it in one evening but I tended to skip over a most scenes regarding the school and schemes bc honestly they were boring af and you knew something was gonna happen to mess it up or 'almost'. I much more enjoyed it when there were emotional scenes where you could see the impact this whole situation was having on Nick. My favorite parts were definitely the more dark and edgier parts where towards the end you're starting to see the cracks of a massive emotional breakdown waiting to spill out.
I really liked this show when I watched it
I have not yet
I like it!!
its 10 episodes not 8
What is this show about me?
The general story of the series is decent, but it would be a much better series without all the fauxminism (false feminism). It makes it too cringy to watch.
Can you give an example?
what?
what are you talking about lmao
I completely agree with this review. What would've made this show better, is if it had been a drama.
it's a pretty good show
Greatest sitcom of all time
I seen better
It’s the best show ever
all adult people in nicks life is using her for their own gain, except the new family, but nick has to make up several layers of lies to keep it up, the episode where the social worker drops by is amazing. the way that only part of the series has the laugh track is quite nice.
In the beginning i thought nicks acting wasn’t very good and her character seemed to happy but that was the point
Lisa I thought I was the only one who thought that lol 😂
The premise seems great, I just couldn't get pass the terrible acting :/
drifterd the cast has all been in other successful shows
@@ummclover And? I'm not saying they're terrible actors. Im saying the acting in this show (for the most part) is terrible. It's clear they were trying to go for the Disney style of cheesy overacting, but imo it missed the mark and made it hard to watch.
drifterd o ya true dat. honestly I’m. Just used to the Disney overact stuff since I’ve watched it for a while. altho the Disney shows rn r all basically shit
This show is doo doo and the characters especially the sister is REALLY FREAKIN ANNOYING, this seem like feminist/leftist propaganda
How though?
I loved it, maybe because i was high. And the cliffhanger....
Didn't like Nick plus the writing is trash
Laugh tracks gotta go on this show
I'll start this by saying, I was born in the mid 80s so I grew up with cheesy, typical, family sitcoms in the late 80s/90s. That said, this show is both a throwback to classic family sitcoms AND one of the few continuity-dependant sitcoms ever made. Each episode usually picks up seconds after the last. As for the cheesiness, the best show to compare it to is Family Matters. A show like FM had the ability to tell serious stories within the sitcom set-up, while still having one of the silliest characters in sitcom history, Steve Urkel. No Good Nick lightly touches on criminality, duality, and distrust in an almost passive approach, so as to not turn the family sitcom into a family drama. This genre notably has humor aimed at pre-teens, yet digestible by parents - whose tolerance for cheesy humor is generally strengthened after years of watching various kiddy shows with their child(ren). So basically, if you're able to put up with Disney Channel caliber "comedy", this show will be a breeze. The writing is probably a B- (for the genre). If we're grading it compared to all shows that exist, it's easily an F like most family sitcoms. One of the main problems I've found with how Nick is written, is that she's supposed to be a character that is devious but also one whom we should sympathize. However, I found myself disliking the character whenever she was caught in a lie yet lied her way out of it. It's sort of the conundrum with No Good Nick: given the title, she's pigeonholed into staying devious throughout the show's run. But as a viewer, you still want your protagonist to be good instead of "No Good". Anyway, I'd say it's worth watching the show if you're into the genre and want to watch something that takes it down a slightly different path than what you're used to seeing. 👍
The show was terrible love sean astin but cmon how does this format of show work anymore. Such forced canned laughter, terrible writing, the child to teen actors were so bad and the overacting was shocking. How can you enjoy this show. Story could have been good if this was a drama but not like this
Just easy review: it's not funny crap.
