This has to be the seminal song of the film. Not usually a fan of musicals but this just blows my mind every time I watch it. This song seems to signify a major turning point in the film. Things are looking up. Used to listen to this to try to motivate me to go to work each morning..My only criticism is that it starts off great, very haunting melody, but doesn't really deliver the same emotion towards the end.

A great movie with lots of great tunes and ensemble scenes. This is my favorite scene in the movie. One trivia note: Mark Lester, as adorable as he was, could not sing or keep time so his voice was dubbed by a little girl.

I caught my little brother Chris singing this song out of his bedroom window. Sadly there were no wonderful people out his window selling their wares, milk and roses. Just the Dumoulin's house next door with its tinsel brick walls, pick up trucks and kids playing amongst the firewood pile shouting for Chris to come and play Lost in Space. Instead of milkmaids and flower merchants there was the Vezeau kids wanting to fight Chris. Chris a.k.a. "Toughy Toenail" would chase them up the street. Instead of admiring London's bobbys an OPP car would drive up our drive way - asking for Chris. Poor Chris. The Vezeau's started it.

The young Oliver opens the curtains and gazes out on the square as street sellers of roses, strawberries, appear, one after another, singing their different tunes about their wares. Oliver adds his own "Who will buy?" to this ensemble. If you want to see the set, i.e. where the scene was filmed, it's Fitzroy Square in London.

Actually the entire film was filmed at Shepperton Studios in Surrey. They built a perfect copy of Bloomsbury Square for the production. The only clue that it's not real is that you can see a couple of corner windows on one building that clearly open to the back of a facade and not into an actual room.

Many people do not recognize the movie this came from until you drop Pick a Pocket or 2 on them.
