You are so right. This is terrific and I had not heard Krilovici--beautiful timbre in the voice and well paired with one of my favorite baritones in Herlea.

Very good voices, but the sound doesn't seem to be what they're doing at the video. It's strange, maybe it's my ears, whatever. I liked Herlea a lot. veru good man! What a big voice! and beautiful color and timbre!
@aseed :: Krilovici has a wonderful voice❕️Who knows betta than Rossini how to place which voice type into which roles ? Rosina is a woman and needs a woman's substantive voice. Sopranos have usurped this role ... but a mezzo-soprano will always have a more powerful impact.
@ionutz1791 Are you joking???? He sang Figaro 550 times! Unfortunately a lot of the Herlea recordings have been played with to death in the studio. Sounds like someone has compressed the sound way too much to make the voices darker and bigger. His voice was not this big or this muddy, listen to the live recording of him doing tosca to hear what he actually sounded like.
i think that ROSSINA role should've been for soprano because Rossina was a young lady so she must have a childish voice like a soprano instead a mezzo which is an mature voice

If you think about Figaro role then only three names come to my mind. Titta Ruffo, Ettore Bastianini and Nicolae Herlea.

wonderful voices both, but Krilovici's gown was the most horrible Hallowe'en costume in captivity!
@ionutz1791 He may be great in his other works but here he is really bad. I can't imagine he sang too much Rossini but then again anything's possible.

Krilovici is quite good but the bass (more of a baritone) is horrible.
