and their new 480hp 6x4 carting cement from
Dunedin to Gore.
They are an outstanding truck.
Many companies have opted for the Mitsus as they can’t get Hinos and not only are almost all specs lower for the same price (or even more), the drivers hate them.
Yet those in Hino 700s with over 1 million kms on the clock still love them.
Compared to Mitsubishi, Hino’s engine is bigger (9L vs 11L), it has more power, more torque, more gears (12 vs 16), more technology, more safety features, a far better wrap-around cockpit, and if you can actually get a Hino (or Kenworth or Mack) within 2 years, they are even cheaper.
One commented on the size of the AdBlue tank… it’s 56L.
Fuel capacity is 700L.
You can drive for more than 2 days straight without refuelling either.
Although it’s 480hp, that’s enough to pull a loaded super dog, but it struggles with a fully loaded quad dog up steep inclines.
But being more powerful than what Mitsu put out, it’s still better.
By far and away the Hino FS 700 2848 is the best truck on the market for the money, and better than other brands that are more expensive.
No wonder Hino are the highest selling truck brand globally, and why I secured the only one available in my state out of sheer luck (a cancelled order).
One small thing the video got weong was saying it’s multiple stage engine brake was called a retarder. Hino call it an intarder, but same same.
More powerful than a mitsi? Fuso shoguns are 510hp so how exactly does that work?? And what's a super dog???
