- One of the fair amount of Duncan Disposal trucks of the Arlington division collects trash on Monday in Grand Prairie. The thing I thought was especially cool on this truck was the fact that it's a newer GU813 that has a regular exhaust pipe setup a lets off black smoke when taking off at times, which means that they removed the DPF Regen filter or whatever it is off of the truck haha. Also I apologize if they video is kind of too long. The crew was cool and the truck was easy to keep up with along with lots of trash set outs so I figured why not take advantage lol.

I used to chase the garbage truck when I was a child and helped the workers to trash the garbage on the garbage truck.
That's funny I used 2 do the same thing and when I got older I then became 1
Efficiency at its best! TWO trashmen PLUS a driver=quick and efficient collection; also no bulky trash barrels with overloaded barrels----just nicely bagged waste speeding up the process! A remarkable trash collection system. This makes me want to move to Grand Prairie just so I could experience this company's nicely-done work! CONGRATULATIONS, workers!!!

Personally, I'll take neatly tied bags over carts, especially carts with broken latch bars or lips. Can't tell you how much those darn things slowed me down at Republic a couple weeks ago.

I salute those 2 employees for their noble job. they have high level of patience . today many are sitting in Ac room and talking of work load and stress , those person must see this , they are nothing before these two men , real taste of hard work .

Very cool video and I really liked the long length of the recording. So much to watch plus the packer is great. Just seems really hard on the crew to not have any cans or bins and have to carry all those bags. Plus bulky trash! They are a good hard working crew. Enjoyed watching this video even though it was a little sad hearing all those glass bottles go into the garbage truck from that one house when they could've easily recycled them. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!!! Yes I thought the same thing... Maybe at some point in the near future they will give out carts for recycling, thus increasing the recycling diversion rate.

They don't use rear-loaders around here. Everyone gets a bin on wheels. Then a truck with a pair of claws comes by and dumps them in the top of the truck. But they do use rear-loaders to take a way the baled cardboard from the hotel where I work.
Love the video, I'm actually a mechanic for the Arlington division Republic services. If I'm not mistaken the truck is a Mack CTP713. Mack had several models for the granite line up and this particular one is a pre 2007 model so it has the MP7 engine but only has an EGR system including the holset variable geometry turbo no DPF.
You guys rebrand the AW and Duncan trucks?

This is a very tiring job believe me especially during the summer time under the scorching heat of the sun. And during rainy days as well.
looks like they are a good crew I think that it is a shame that all of the recycling and garden waste goes with the refuse ,but a good speed of working ,how much does the lorry hold?
Dan Hodges it should hold on a good day when everything is wet and packing good on that size of a truck around 13 tons. But myself and a couple other guys I work with gotten 15 tons on one truck before

I know this video is from 2015- but it seems weird that a nice, newer, middle class neighborhood, with nice lawns and landscaping- can't afford trash totes on wheels to put their garbage in- they just pile up bags and boxes and they are manually picked up- kinda strange. Kinda trailer trash.

Jesus, no hydraulics, no bins, everything thrown in by hand, how long do they expect to last in this job? We haven't collected trash like that since the 50's, The US is painfully behind other countries in a lot of things, work safety being one. DPF filter removal is not a very smart idea either for the guys to walk around all day in un-filtered diesel exhaust not to mention the environmental impact. It is however interesting to see how the job is done abroad.
A few things in this video can be concidered "better". The ability to ride on the truck, we are not allowed to do that by law unless it's a one compartment truck, a type that is getting fewer by the day due recycling, they are being replaced by 2-4 compartent trucks and bins, and the fact that these atleast are a 3 man crew.
