    Because of this, I brought this swag, being my 1st swag.. I can confirm it is the best thing ever so easy to set up very lightweight, so spacious, my partner and I had plenty of room. I slept on the mat only as he slept on the mat plus extra padding, I slept like a baby. I'm about to season it today. Will update... I love it highly recommend... Thanks Ben/Snowys

    Dang, Ben, that may just be the single only swag that has never set off my claustrophobia just looking at it! What a beautiful, roomy space it seems. Tho I'm sure part of that is just the fact your pitch is tight as a drum, which I could probs never manage.

    In my probably not needed opinion, if you are looking for ease of setup, and want an all-in-one solution that doesn't require poles, and you have a fairly open budget, then by all means, grab this swag. I have no doubt it is a solid product. But if you're on a tight budget, and don't mind spending a bit of time setting up your sleeping space, grab something else.
    I hate to be Negative Norman but I would hope the air pockets are near bulletproof, and hopefully comes with a complimentary portable coffee maker. The monetary investment to make on this great camping swag requires good coffee to appreciate, and super-reinforced air pockets. I see the convenience but would hope Dometic gets realistic with whatever they wholesale these for.
    For sake of argument, I reckon I could buy a two-person pole tent and a heavy-duty tarp as an all-weather fly, plus ropes, and a self-inflating mattress, which may be a little more work to set up, but would weigh less, arguably take up less space (well, maybe not) and be a fraction of the price of this swag.
    Yes, a good product from Dometic but for me, it seems way overpriced for what it is.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      It is pricey, Brad, thanks for your thoughts, we love hearing everyone's opinion on new products.
      Air poles are becoming more and more reliable and if you think about it, there is only a few points of contact with the ground where a puncture from sharp objects can occur, and those points have 3-4 layers of fabric over the actual bladder. On top of that the bladders are tested to well in excess of the recommended inflation PSI, and furthermore, if a puncture does occur then they will require repair just as you would if a steel or alloy frame bent or broke.
      As you can probably tell, I'm becoming quite a fan of air filled tent frames, I think they are far more forgiving than rigid frames.

      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem +2

      We've just filmed the video for the single, Mick, should be live in the next week or two I reckon.
      The mat is pretty good, more like a compact hike mat but it's comfortable once inflated to the recommended 2psi. It may be cold to sleep on in winter as its not insulated, so it could be worth adding a blanket or think closed cell foam mat over the top for extra insulation on cold nights. A thin mat on top of the integrated mat would likely roll up inside the swag as there's plenty of excess space in the carry bag. ~ Ben

    I was considering an air swag and looked at reviews of Darche Airvolution and decided against it. Seems that the air poles don't really do too well with warm days and cold nights and the roof ends up sagging down, have Dometic come up with a way to fix this?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem

      There is always going to be a change in pressure inside the air poles as temperature fluctuates, there's no way around this. You'd probably be best inflating it to the recommended pressure at a cooler time of the day, that way it will maintain that pressure and stability through the cool of the night. The poles have been tested to well in excess of the recommended pressure, so when the warm up and get tighter during the day they will be fine. ~ Ben
