He comes across as smart, genuine and someone who takes his work but not himself seriously. We could do with more of that.

The part where he says he flunked grade 5 reminds me of Stephen J. Cannell, he said the same of himself, he was dyslectic, yet he went on to become a multi millionaire. He was a brilliant script writer. Cannell created or co-created several dozen successful TV series from the 1970s to the 1990s, often with his creative partner Frank Lupo. Cannell's creations include The Rockford Files, The A-Team, Renegade, The Greatest American Hero, 21 Jump Street, and The Commish. He also wrote novels, notably the Shane Scully mystery series. His story on a CZcams video is inspirational.

I am impressed, but not surprised De Lancey went to Julliard. In terms of training, he was a perfect foil to Stewart's training at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Given how much both actors really enjoy stage work, it must have been, not so much fun, but *satisfying* playing off of each other, like two well matched tennis players, not necessarily same style, but nearly as much training at a high level.

The biggest annoying thorn in Jean-Luc Picard's side in ST: TNG.
More of a mischievous prankster than downright villain, but he always appeared at the most inopportune of moments just to annoy the daylights out of Picard and Riker.

Q was an unpredictable, omnipotent being in the Star Trek TNG series that was probably based on a character from the TOS series named Trelane from the "The Squire of Gothos" episode. He's basically a God stuck in primary scholl recess.
