Our window slams shut after next year. No way we ever field a championship roster with an $11 million goalie. Package our first to get rid of trouba and don’t resign lindgren. We need to stop acting like Mika is our first line. Call him what he is, a second line center
I understand that you can't look at current or past champions and just blindly copy their blueprint. But of the recent past winners you mentioned that have a blueprint to speak of, which would you copy? Would you try to get meaner, a la FLA '24? Would you try to pull some more cap shenanigans a la VGK '23? Would you try to get faster in the transition a la DEN '22? What blueprint options are there for the Rangers to try to get 'spikier' in one or another dimension to get to, at least, 12 wins in the postseason? It feels like this year they tried to lean into the special teams angle. Larry and everyone was reporting on how much time they spent on 3v3, 4v4, 5v4 drills in the beginning of the season. Although the caps won that way 6 years ago, that blueprint didn't work this year. What other blueprint would you choose? Or do you not look at this offseason with a 'blueprint' of roles & approaches, but just in terms of players and lines?
Guys, we broke the single season wins record with BLAKE WHEELER on the top line most of the year. You don't think Kane is an improvement? If he gets 2.75 to 3.25...why not? It's basically be a swap for Goodrow's money. Trouba needs to be bought out... today.
Drury honestly shouldn’t resign Lindgren at all just trade him D core needs 1 more guy who has size can skate and move the puck and if Lindgren stays they are just gonna keep marrying him to fix which I think hurts fox and the team Lindgren doesn’t deserve a raise and if he’s a top 4 d man on this team the d core is never gonna be good enough I actually would argue Lindgren is less useful than trouba and I would bank on trouba having a bounce back better year than Lindgren
Rangers fans and rangers media are absolute morons for thinking signing Lindgren should be a given and a top priority like why he stinks only reason he’s considered good is cuz he plays with fox Lindgren is a 3rd pair D man on a cup contender and he gets hurt all the time Drury should absolutely trade him and Kakko for a real top 4 D man like Chychrun
Trouba I highly doubt is getting traded unless a team takes his whole contact which is unlikely Kakko and Lindgren should be traded and chytil should be too but he will be difficult to shop cuz his injury issue they should seriously explore buying chytil out the cap savings compared to the lack of penalties makes it a no brainer and chytil will never be a top 6 player on this team and he’s just not a good 3C he’s too soft and he’s terrible defensively he’s really not a real center and he is so god damn injury prone why would they wanna risk him when he’s most likely not gonna work out trade him and a 1st for Ross Colton then Colorado can buy him out and keep our pick
