  • These commercials aired on WKBS in June of 1983
    1. "The Flintstones Show" Commercial Bumper
    2. Marshmallow Krispies
    3. Fruit Roll-Ups (With Kirk Cameron and Jason Hervey)
    4. Sesame Place (A theme park in Bucks County, PA that is themed off of Sesame Street via an exclusive license. Originally opened in 1980; at the time of this recording it was mostly full of character meet and greet locations, playgrounds and slides...with more typical theme park attractions added in subsequent years)
    5. Slam Shifters and Cannon Blasters (The haircuts in this one are painful)
    6. Froot Loops
    7. Promo for "Mork & Mindy"
    8. Burger Time Portable Electronic Game (I love how "80's" this thing looks)
    9. 7 Eleven (With Video Game Slurpee Cups!)
    10. Promo for "The Incredible Hulk"
    11. "The Flintstones Show" Commercial Bumpers
    12. Belt Racer
    13. Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine (I've mentioned this before, but my older sister had this and it was barely used, and I remember it always being stored on top of our refrigerator growing up. They actually still make and sell these: www.target.com... )
    14. Promo for "Cry Of The Wild" (A 1972 Nature Documentary and part of a trilogy of documentaries about wolves by Canadian naturalist Bill Mason)
    15. Promo for "Hardy Cartoons" (This appears to be the 1969 "The Hardy Boys" cartoon produced by Filmation...most likely retitled for syndication)
    16. Promo for "Battle Of The Planets"
    17. Apple Jacks
    18. Promo for "The B.J./Lobo Show"
    19. "The Flintstones Show" Commercial Bumper
    20. Cheerios
    21. Promo for "Mork & Mindy"
    22. Promo for "Underdog"
    23. Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Action Figures (10:06 "Surprise Surprise, I'm Lando in disguise!". The reason why the kids here are using rocks to stand in for the desert skiff is because the Tatooine Skiff vehicle was not released until Kenner's Power Of The Force line in 1985)
    24. Promo for "Popeye & Friends"
    25. Promo for "March Of Dimes Telethon" (With Hal Linden)
    26. "The Flintstones Show" Commercial Bumper

Wow! Kirk Cameron, Tiffany Brisette, Danny Ponce, and Jason Hervey all in that one Fruit Roll Ups commercial! They were so little LOL!

I can hear the sound of the “speak and spell” various game sounds during the bumpers. Retro cool!

Those fruit roll ups used to be made out of actual strawberries. You could see the seeds and fiber in there. They were tangy and you could hold some in your mouth and think. This is strawberry. I tried one recently. Yeah dried corn syrup and starch with red dye.

OMG, this is from my home city of Philadelphia, WBKS Channel 48! Thank you so much! I miss this channel. It went off the air in 1983.

More 48! I forgot that they went off the air later in 1983! I loved seeing more of the Speak & Spell IDs and that cool Burgertime handheld game!

I've seen so many of those Snoopy Snow-Cones machines at many yard sales over the years.

Belt Racers. How I learned to love racing and hate my pants falling down.

Kenner used the same music in the Star Wars toy commercials for each movie and five years.
It was a fun time when "Return of the Jedi," what was considered the conclusion, came out and we had new toys. I remember how the toy guide did not have an image of the Tatooine Skiff but its description was intriguing. By the time it came out and I saw it in the store, I was focused on Go-Bots, GI Joe, Transformers, and toy guns.

That BurgerTime portable game is pretty cool, but I always preferred the Coleco mini arcades from that time period. Had Donkey Kong, Galaxian and Donkey Kong Jr.

Sesame Place- I’ve never actually been in the actual place, but every time I’m in the area, I see Sesame Place from the outside. From the looks of it nowadays, it looks like a typical, run of the mill amusement park to me.
Snoopy Sno Cone Machine- I can see why this item was barely used. I can imagine for a cheap toy like that, the quality of the snow cones it made was abysmal for the amount of effort it would take.
