- As soon as I made this cutter for myself, I immediately received orders for the same devices. It turned out to be both easy to make and an ingenious device that makes work easier and helps to cope with cutting the foam.

I wish that all you people putting videos up like this would show the finished tool in use first and then show how to make it. Then I wouldn't have to forward to the end to see if I am interested enough to see how it is made.
Pay attention to the movies. They never start with the ending!
@@masterofcrafts a movie made for entertainment is a completely different genre'. It really would be much more useful with a preview of its use at the opening. It is however ingenious and would have saved me a lot of time over the years I was contracting. And a lot of vacuuming! Lol
I think I will ignore clips that don't reveal what they are about in future. This is a disingenuous clickbait trick. If you start at the end to see what its about they still get the view!
@@masterofcrafts This is YT bro ..... not a movie ......instruction video would be the correct term. I agree with the previous poster .....lets see the final product at the beginning.

I like the way Craftmaster uses the compound miter saw, his clamping method no risk.
You don't think it would be even safer to use the saw as it was intended, thereby eliminating the cuts with the boards not up against the fence? Those are not safe cuts. If for any reason the blade failed to cut the wood, those clamps would fail. They can't match the power of the motor. the wood would move, possibly being thrown across the shop, and/or the cutting head would surge in the direction of the operator. Safely cutting angles is the whole purpose of the turning cutter head and table.
Finally someone who cuts out the sound of power tools. My ears thank you.
If tool noise bothers you....then carpentry is not for you....maybe your more of an office kinda guy.
@@danielreyes1084 no, I'm autistic and have auditory hypersensitivity.
I agree about the sound. I like woodworking - the noise adds nothing for recreational viewing. First time I've seen this type of video. Like button gently pressed.

Leave a gap between the sheets of insulation and fill the gap with spray foam after installation. Faster and much more air tight.
That’s a great idea for building fiberglass rectangular tubes. There was once a product called “duct board” which was fiberglass ductwork & some of the fabricating tools were quite expensive for working with it. Also, the duct board had lots of loose fibers that would get into the air streams of buildings & homes because it wasn’t lined with any sort of a coating. The fiberglass panels would do the same thing, have way better insulating qualities too!

Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Y'alls 🙌 ❤ 🙏
I just want to say I appreciate your showing all the clamping on the miter saw. Helps someone like me who doesn't really know what they're doing.
How about learning from someone who actually knows how to use one! Not this guy. The saw is designed to rotate for accurate angle (miter) cuts, but instead of using it that way, he wastes all kinds of time measuring to cut simple, 45° angles! Wtf. On top of that, I found myself cringing at the untidy worksite, not because it looks horrible (even tho it does), but because it’s the kind of work site someone eventually gets hurt on. Loose boards lying around to trip over, never mind the potential that some of those have embedded nails sticking out that someone is gonna step on and end up with a nasty hole in his/ her foot. I know, I’ve been in the construction business for 40 years and recognize this half- arsed behavior for what it is- either complete ignorance, or willful stupidity that results in injury or even worse, depending on how badly it gets out of control. Do yourself a favor and find a different channel to “learn” from, if that’s your goal.
@@Tuncle54 I've always looked at the quality of worksite to judge quality of work.
why did he not just set the angle on the saw , a lot saver than that dodgy clamping not the thing to be showing on youtub
If you want to learn how to use a miter saw this guy is the WORST person you can learn from !!
Thanks for this video.
I will be working with polyiso insulation soon. I will have to make a lot of cuts. I think I’ll make a simplified version of this. Most of my cuts will be straight cut and a utility knife blade doesn’t cut 2 inch foam in a single, clean cut.
Voila une idée géneale bravo Maestro

Awesome lil yet, highly effective little tool!
Brilliant idea, well done!
Why not use the miter saw the way it was intended to be used? You can rotate the saw base to any angle, instead of holding the wood at a weird position and having to clamp it down.
I was wondering the exact same
yep
I have the same saw and never used that jig lol
@@DeanUrevig oh Dean lol
My thought would be bc of the size of the cuts/wood, and possibility of it kicking out?!? It's safer to clamp down and avoid skipping. (honestly no clue, I just know it happened to me before with my saw). I also think precision is probably more exact by hand than using the bevel... and he was precise!
Nice little jig you made to solve a jointing problem. Thumbs Up!

Fabulous idea, you idea creates a water tight seal when wrapping a house to be plastered.
Given the choice, I rather see the finished product first. But it never stops me from watching these types of videos. Realistically speaking, there's a 99.999% chance I'll never make the product. I mostly watch them for other reasons, such as learning new techniques or creative ways of using tools. Very few people have every tool they need. It's great to learn work-around's when your tool selection is limited.
Skip to the end first. Just a swipe of the thumb away from finding out what they made
@@dalestewart264 My thought exactly. It took so much time and effort out of my day. Probably less than typing this sarcastic reply.

Thank you. I've never seen how to use the clamp on my saw.
I would have had those mortar joints retucked and pointed before covering in foam.
Nice tool for cutting the foam.
I the joints are not damaged couldn't the excess mortar be ground flush rather than redoing all those joints?
I have never seen anybody use a saw that way
Because it actually has a function so it can be used as a miter saw and not in this fucked up dangerous way.
Hasn't figured out all the controls yet. Owners manual? Who needs em.
Да , часто столкнулись такие проблемами.

Go to any HVAC contractor store. They have had these tools for years. Used for assembling fiber duct board ( commonly called fuzz duct in the vernacular). A set of three, I believe ( haven’t used mine for a while)…covers all the bases. But, it’s nice he got over a million views.

I have learned to watch the last 30 seconds of these videos to see if I want to see the "mystery build" or not.
You can say that again. Most of them are garbage.
that's a really good tip!
And, did you watch the mystery build? Just wondering

cool idea. do you think it would be easier to use if you oriented the blades so that it would cut on the pull-stroke instead of push?
Cutting on the Pull would probably result in a Malformed edge, (not to mention the Obvious Safety concern of cutting towards yourself with tool holding open Blades ) whereas cutting on the Push introduces a Mechanical Advantage the ensures the tool remains tight against the Material resulting in a Truer finished Edge,
You can adjust your blade angle with your saw to make the angle cuts. No need to block and clamp other boards.
That was my first thought!🤦♀️
I watch many videos of methods and jigs for jobs I'll never take on. They are ususally fascinating - the ingenuity and skills shown keep me entertained for hours. This one was just the same, brilliant. Just one question - why risk losing bits of flesh by using a knife blade as a glue spreader?
Tellement satisfaisant 👨🦽👍
You are so clever. I might make one also.
