I’m an RN and I recommend wearing compression socks while at clinical especially if your day is 12+ hours. I wear them at work and they’re a lifesaver. Also I used construction or colored printer paper for medsurg class to create concept maps for disease processes. I color coordinated then based up systems within the body and they were a big help with understanding the disease and their interventions
I'm curious...why do you use compression socks? Does it help with pain in the legs for being on your feet all day?
Ashley Scott yes compression socks help the pain but they’re really beneficial to increase blood flow to decrease blood clots and help to reduce swelling after being on your feet all day.

Just letting you know, pharmacology is nowhere near as difficult as people make it out to be. It is a lot of information but if you stay a couple steps ahead you'll do just fine. I went into pharm scared but it was okay😊📚🩺

Aw thanks girl!! I was so scared for pharm 1! But I passed thankfully! So I’m not as worried for pharm 2! More worried for med surg 2 ahhhh!😵😵😵
The only thing that helped me in pharm were drug cards.
I agree. I took pharm in the spring and was very nervous about going into it. it wasn't too bad. came out with a good grade

Hi Madison! Love your videos! Another great tip for anybody going into nursing school (as I saw on a reddit page) that you can register your Littman stethoscope! If you do and download the app or on the website, there's different tools you can use like listening to different heart/lung sounds!

I start nursing school this month, about 2.5 weeks, and watching your videos are making me even more excited!!! You’re one of the first CZcamsrs (pretty much the only one) that I started watching and am still watching since my interest in nursing last spring!
I love that planner! I have a happy planner now with to-do list inserts, but I love that yours has it built in. Another recommendation I have for nursing students who are having to deal with online classes right now is to get an external monitor to hook up to your laptop! This lets me have the lecture on one screen while I type up notes on the other and it’s so helpful!

The FILA shoes are my faves-I like that they are very supportive and fully cover your foot. You can sanitize them with wipes too. Clunky “dad” shoes, but very slip resistant!

I am starting clinical/ nursing classes in a few weeks and I love watching these videos!! For my scrub pocket I got a scrub pocket organizer from amazon, just so everything is in one place, and is easy to reach:) also, a stethoscope case is helpful as well, to keep extra supplies, and to help protect your stethoscope!!

I'm super dorky when it comes to badge reels too lol! I love Etsy and bought one for each body system and would wear it to correspond with the units we were learning. Also, COMPRESSION SOCKS are a life saver.
Also a white board is very helpful in med math. Use it to practice dosage calculations and you could write all the formulas in the board and review them each day. Quizlet is a helpful online tool in addition to your textbooks

My top favorite items for school are the folding clipboard, mildliner highlighters, my butterfly badge clip from Amazon, and the whiteboard FOR SURE. Get a big whiteboard!

I carry a smaller size dry erase board as well! It lives in my backpack, it is a must have! I also just got a larger size one for my wall at HomeGoods! It was only $14. I start my ABSN program in 5 weeks!

you have a similar class schedule as I did for my second semester. I had mental health the first 8 weeks and med surg 2 in the second 8 weeks as well. I had pharm the whole 16 weeks though; ours wasn't broken down into parts.

I have a question on one of the nursing classes, I am going into the RN program starting in January and on my curriculum there is no med surg class but I know people in my program have mentioned taking it....is med surg classified under a specific class or is it its own class called med surg??
