This could be Yellowcard's greatest album yet. Their two songs relesed from Southern Air have been instantly catchy. This is a trait that is rare in Yellowcard. It usually takes a few tries to truly appreciate their great music. I hope that this album's other releases are just as great.

Wow seriously I spent more than a year knowing this band and the truth is that it is my favorite and it always will be, it has given me so many good moments and joy that even inspired me to study music, I hope someday to meet them in person because as I met very late I could not go to any concert of them, which I regret a lot, so thanks Yellowcard for everything. Hell yeah man, I was beginning to think Yellowcard went all pop when I heard Here I am alive, but this song proves me wrong.
I see Yellowcard starting to write their poppiest stuff yet I still enjoy it because it has that simple but epic approach to music. The guitars, drums, and signature violin stand as the corner stone of the band (especially the violin). While they are moving in a poppier direction it is still fair to say they are playing pop punk. I do think some songs are pop rock but I don't think this band will ever reach boy band level. Their pop sensibilities with their upbeat rock/melodic punk sound works.

This is very reminiscent of Ryan Key and Sean O' Donnell's song "Bug Light" from their band "Big If" when Yellowcard was on hiatus. Awesome that they are using such great inspiration

since i heard the awakening, AND FOUND IT FUCKING AWASOME. i listen yellowcard all the time. i love every song i hear of them. and there's not any time off the day they're not in my head. im addicted! so glad i discovered them!
while Yellowcard was on break, ryan key and sean o'donnell were close friends and they decided to continue making music together while their bands were off, under the name "Big If". They only managed to produce about a CD worth of demos which they released on their myspace page. Once yellowcard started talking about getting back together, they were still missing a bass player, so they asked Sean to play. Hang You Up and Hide were originally songs for Big If, and so was Bug Light.

i can't get over how beautiful these lyrics are. i mean, yellowcard's lyrics are always amazing, but something about this song just really hits close to home, somehow... "bottoms up tonight, i drink to you and i, 'cause with the morning comes the rest of my life." sigh...

Of all the bands i listened while in high school which was about 7 years ago yellowcard is the only one i still listen to. My music taste has change since high school but i love me some yellowcard.

Ive slept on yellowcard for quite some time now, ive always been a fan and listened to some singles and randoms songs such as ocean avenue, rough draft, empty apartments, and a few more. They were always just a band I put on the back burner, and never delved deeper into their discography.
This song really hit home, im excited to listen to the 3 or so albums I haven't heard. After yellowcard I want to revisit anberlin and listen to their most recent releases (2010+)
It's funny because yellowcard seem to be aging well, putting out a mature and enjoyable music in the vein of pop punk.
Whilist bands that I've listened to way more and I hold in higher regard due to their classic albums, have aged much worse in my opinion and have had a string of lackluster releases. e.g (Saves the day, Alkaline Trio, New found glory, Taking back sunday, say anything)
This is me, ashamed that for an entire decade I have almost completely disregarded yellowcars
