‘Stop!’ was taken from the ‘Crackers International’ EP
originally released in November 1988 reaching number 2 in the UK charts.
The video was directed by Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson of Throbbing Gristle, who also worked with The The, Nik Kershaw, Marc Almond, NIN, Van Halen and Mute label mate and collaborator Diamanda Galas.
The EP also featured fan favourites ‘Knocking On Your Door’,’The Hardest Part’ and ’She Won’t Be Home’.

without Andy's lyrics, this song would be nothing but a product. and Andy wrote both music and lyrics to Erasure's best song Stay with me.
This was played a lot in the 80s in all the pubs and clubs. Whenever it came on, the smoke machines used to fill the dance floor with a thick fog, lit up by all the whirling multicolored disco lights and everyone used to crowd onto the dance floor. Those were the days!
The (old) OP….(Old Plantation) El Paso TX… it was a mix, played after Breath of Life, we’d all scream, jump….dance!! Good time’s! (I can’t believe I remember the DJ playlist for these song’s)! 🤪

I was 10 when this song came out. I pleaded with my dad not to change the station when this song came on the radio in his car. I am 40 now and I've added this to my Spotify playlist. I sorely miss the 80s and 90s music very much.

First time I ever heard this song. I was born in the 70s. I bought the Greatest album cd years ago, but I lost it before I had a chance to listen to it all the way through.

Amazing 80s music will never go out of style or be obsolete, because it is great music with great voice and brings back so many incredible nostalgic moments and memories. Absolutely beautiful music and makes you want to get up and dance.

Vince Clarke had many collabs including some very famous ones including Depeche Mode and Yaz. The fact that Erasure was his forever home is just kismet. Andy became an icon.
My kids were brought up to erasure, they were toddlers who knew all the words to all their songs,I was 18 and had two kids! Last time my girls danced to this was at my oldest girls wedding ,their faces were so full of glee , she passed away not long after ,this song brings such lovely memories of her .

I first heard this in The Rules of Attraction and it immediately made an impression. Didnt find it untill some time later. I can listen to this a million times consecutively. The video's visuals are also stellar. Not too many with as solid of a production that I've seen.
