- PC Trigger Frost gets to go out to pasture with his mares. Henson uses Stellar, a 2 yr old outside filly, to gather up the mares.
The babies are all for sale, although several are already sold. Find Jerry Winn on Facebook if you would like info. - Sport
Seeing Trigger being led out on a loose lead, versus some of the pampered breed studs with several grooms clinging desperately to double lead ropes and getting dragged all over.
Manners have to be taught and refreshed.
And it looks like one of the mares was ready to remind him that he has to be a gentleman.
@Dan Reardon I think it's a lifestyle and training difference.
I've seen TB studs that were well-mannered, but they were also being used as breeding ranch horses - they didn't go stall-crazy because they had things to do like guard their mares, chase cows and travel long distances.
So happy that you reminded him of his manners before letting him off. A good stallion is well behaved
I agree
As a stallion owner it's good to see others who understand the importance of proper training and handling of their studs. As leader of the herd (human) our teachings to the stallion is for his benefit and safety as well as our own. Kudos to you. Blessings from Georgia.
I've trained my arabian stallion to remain at my side with or without his lead rope until I release him to go to his mares. He is surrounded by mares, often with their foals, at all times. He prefers them rather than geldings because it allows him to feel like he always has a herd. He's a great babysitter for weanlings who are much more secure and happy with an adult horse for company once they no longer have their mothers. I trail ride him completely tackless alone or in company. People are surprised when they notice he's a stallion because he is so well behaved.
Trigger is absolutely stunning!!! Glad that Hanson got on top of Trigger and made him mind his matters. Safety for Hanson and Trigger comes first. Stellar is beautiful. She did a great job on gathering up the mares.
Henson. M Warfield, I've seen your comments on other PDR videos, I know you his name.
Love watching how he gently gets compliance out of any horse 🐴.he has a true natural talent.
So glad you reminded him that he has to be respectful if he wants to go have fun with his girlfriends!
He's a sweet stallion. Didn't take alot to calm him. And he's gorgeous . Thanks for including us! 🙂

Beautiful country. Had to laugh when I saw your son and his un matching socks, brought me back to my youngest son who to this day rarely has matching socks, many, many years later, lol.
I was wondering if anyone would catch that 😂
What do you mean not matched? He has another pair just like those in his dresser drawer ;))

Love the way he licks his lips and behaves himself after he has been circled and backed a few times. Lovely handling and training.
This is how every kid should be raised. Watching his Dad with his Loving Mom work and play together. AWESOME.

Your stallion is gorgeous!

Thank you! 6 more to come!
Good for you for not allowing him to get away with being pushy! A good horse. Not a lot of horse people (mainly equestrians) spend time to fix that. Good for you, well done. 👏
Greetings from Montana! You have yourself a really nice crop of colts there!!
Thank you!
So glad your son went for water!
Me too 😁
What a spread!
Guess Trigger got stirred up seeing mares!
What a cute little boy.
He is stunning.
Thank you!
move those feet trigger, let me show you who is top dog in this herd.

She is a beautiful mare
Gorgeous Palomino
Thank you
Good boy, he went for the water and not the can of sugar death
Love those girls red boots! He came along for the experience. Good boy get that 💦. He is a little rounder. Love watching babies. Let’s tire Trigger out a bit. Nice tight circles. Look at the hip on that stallion. Makes my heart beat fast. SWEET. Nasty rice cakes that taste like flavored cardboard…❤️💋🐾🐾🐎🐂
Lundberg has the BEST rice cakes. Publix carries them.
Absolutely he knows!!
Beautiful stallion - just let him go and do his job.
Good video
Thank you
This was so nice to see!!! Absolutely gorgeous horses, and people that know what they are doing and WOW, some nice babies. I loved the way the mares without foals grouped together, staring at him, probably flirting with him. This was the first video I have seen of yours, I guess those are his babies? They are sure nice foals.
Some are his... this year we are putting out 77 mares with 7 studs... each year we match up mares and studs and put together what we think are the best crosses. It’s an ever evolving process!
Hey Danielle, good job! Need to see some monster videos!
I think we are putting him out today, my videos are about a week behind. 😬😁
Brian monster video was just posted
That is one beat up truck!
Some pretty folds there.... There's a nice white, brown and black one that would be good to start out with
Look at how beautiful those babies are. Are they all Triggers offspring? Gosh I love them so much.
I think there are a few babies from our other stallions mixed in there... the palominos are probably his. Thank you.
@@PaintedDesertRanch thanks so much for the reply! ❤️
Beautiful stock. I’d love to see some paint mares in there to see what they throw.
We have one paint mare that was gifted to one of the boys, other than that we don’t do paints.
Does he have the pearl gene? Gorgeous Boy!
🤷🏻♀️
I had a palomino named trigger he got colic & passed 🥺 love your videos
Sorry to hear, colic is not cool 😔
Correction is always a good thing, especially for a stallion.
8:10 gotta love those muscles!
Love watching y’all!! Nice big crop of good babies! Sun Frost stud is nice nice too! Are all the babies on the ground out of him? Always enjoy seeing AZ especially northern part as I grew up in Pinetop. Hate to see how dry it has been for nearly 2 years there. East Texas where we are now had over 4” rain since yesterday afternoon. Would love to send you some!! Thanks again for letting us go along w/you on what you do daily! Love starting colts and bringing them along. Good bred horses seem to come around quick!! 💕💕
Thanks for watching!!! I’m not sure if all of Trigger’s babies have dropped, my father in law and husband would know. Yes, please send us some rain, haha.
That's a beautiful stallion.
Would any of you be interested in a blue roan mare, registered, 22. She is in very good shape and broke to ride.
Has had nice foals.
No thanks
Good moning Romania 🇷🇴✋🙏
Nice correction and letting him get his yammys out before going in by his ladies!
HE'S A BEAUTY!! I'M 62...I FELL IN LOVE WITH HORSES BECAUSE OF ROY RODGER'S TRIGGER. DID YOU KNOW?... TRIGGER DID OVER 200 EPISODES, AT A FULL TILT GALLOP, & NEVER TOOK A MIS - STEP WITH ROY!! & ROY PICKED HIM OUT OF A STUDIO REMUDA!! ROY EITHER HAD GOOD LUCK, OR A GREAT EYE FOR A GREAT HORSE...I THINK THE LATTER!! I FULLY BELIEVE THE SENTIMENT THAT "THE OUTSIDE OF A HORSE, IS GOOD FOR THE INSIDE OF A MAN/ WOMAN", & HAVE KEPT HORSES IN MY LIFE...ALL MY LIFE. I FOLLOW CRAIG CAMERON FOR TRAINING ADVICE...LIKE HIS NO NONSENSE, NO HEAVY-HANDEDNESS, ALL HORSES, (XCEPT FOR WILD ONES), NEED TO BE HANDLED, TRAINED TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF HURTING SOMEONE, OR HURTING THEMSELVES...♡☆♡ THANKS FOR THE VIDEO...♡☆♡
Watching this is a good way to start my day, thank you ! What state are you guys in ?
Good morning!! Northern Arizona
Trigger is just gorgeous with that bright gold sheen! Is it harder to work cattle on a stud than on other horses?
Thank you, we like him too. No it is not, not for us anyway.
JUST SUBBED THIS IS A COOL CHANNEL 😇ARE ANY OF THOSE BABES THIS STALLION? GOD BLESS AMERICA ✝️🇺🇸🙏🏻
Thanks for subscribing!! Yes, some of them are
How long do you leave the stallions with their mares?
A few months.
How many mares does Trigger have and how many mares does Monster have? How do you keep them ALL apart? Any more stallions with mares? I LOVE this video 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐴
This year we put out 7 stallions with 77 mares, 11 each.
Trigger is stunning! I was also intrigued to see that several of the mares show a rabanico marking on their tails. How old is Trigger? Where do you keep your studs during the off season?
Trigger is 17. The stallions all run together in the “boy” pasture, lol. They run with geldings too.
👍👍👍
I am very interested in your pastures.
I am not at all familiar with desert pastures.
What the heck do the horses eat??
Watch the video titled “JHeart fillies” I think. We answer that question at the end of the video
Weeee Trigger rocks hard and has a beautiful shiny coat ♥️what breed are your horses? subscribing!
They are all Quarter horse. Thanks for subscribing!!
Do you get very many Albino's when you breed your yellow stud to other Palamino's, Buckskins etc??
I've always thought one out of five.
Your stud is beautiful has a good head and hip and he's a gentleman thanks to you.
Love your videos....
No, we haven’t gotten any at all. But... we haven’t bred him to many other palominos or buckskins. In AQHA they are not called albino, they’re called perlino or cremello. Thank you for the compliments 🙏🏼 thanks for watching
@@PaintedDesertRanch thanks for clarifying the color issue ...I was about to myself!
What do horses eat out there in the desert? Not judging, just asking. I live in Minnesota with much different landscape. Isn’t it hot out there?
There’s plenty of grasses and brush they can eat out here
I was wondering, since your horses have the room to turn around in the trailer, why do you back them out of it and not just turn them around and lead them out so they are able to see better. It might also give them time to not spook and see where they are going if they are learning.
I have answered this before... these are 2 yr olds that we start for other people; if they can unload both ways then they are able to get out of any situation they might face in the future. Makes a well rounded horse if they can do both if you ask me. #FoundationFirst
As a newcomer to Painted Desert Ranch video's, thanks for asking that. I was about to! I thought it was for training purposes, I also thought maybe for safety. Perhaps a green horse walking out forward might bolt and possibly injure itself or the person at the other end of the rope.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to read through the comments Carol 😁
Just a practical question. I see in some of your videos some fairly young kids. How do you include them, yet keep them from getting kicked or run over?
Ranch kids know the boundaries. They’re pretty savvy about all that because they’ve been raised around it.
I think your right to correct your stallions behavior for your safety and his you don’t need to be rough just applie simple consistent discipline
