As an Auburn fan. I've been happy with what Freeze is doing.
Same kiffin would use auburn for Alabama or Florida job I think freeze wands to win and stay at Auburn and just needs to nail recruiting in the trenches
So far so good... get us to at least a 7 win regular season, a top 15 recruiting class and a damn bowl win for the love of God lol then recruit like hell for a top 5 2026 class and win 9 games in 2025

As a 23 year life long auburn fan (not that long for sure) however I have never seen auburn trend up faster nor from a further deficit then we were in from the potato famine in my entire life I am proud to say HUGH FREEZE is my coach. This is the most unity, consistency in recruiting, and direction Auburn has had in my 23 years of living. WDE baby the future is bright!!

He’s a phenomenal recruiter and got lucky a lot with phenomenal talent.
That 2014-2016 run we had we should’ve gone 10/11 wins a season and should’ve gone to Atlanta at least once.
If Lane had that stacked roster Hugh had he would’ve done that and that’s why Ole Miss fans are so pumped for this season because we finally have that level of talent.
But during that time we lost a lot of games with mediocre play calling that we should’ve won.
I mean a lot of head scratchers.
And considering Hugh literally hired a ton of his former staffers that were with him during the Ole Miss days have fun.
Auburn has a bigger war chest than Ole Miss and yes I think y’all are headed in the right direction but don’t hold your breath too long.

Long time AU fan here. AU has always been able to put defensive guys in the NFL and we've always been one of the running back powers of the SEC. But we've never been elite at WR no matter who was coaching. I believe AU has only put one WR into the 1st round since 1984 (yes, you heard that right). It's simply impossible to win in today's pass happy game without elite WR's, just like it wasn't possible to win in the 80's without elite RB's. Hugh has brought in FOUR top notch WR's in his first class. If that isn't progress, then I don't know what is.

I’m obviously not a Tiger fan, but to think that someone calling themselves a sportscaster or purveyor of SEC information would make the statement that Coach Freeze is going to be on the hot seat soon is beyond comprehension. They would literally have to lose almost every game this coming season for this to gain any traction anywhere outside fantasy land. But I guess it did ensure his video got plenty of views…

Hank or WW have my full confidence but we need a couple out of necessity. I honestly think Juju is waiting to see the supporting class in season. HS is the way to go. Portal should be used for bandaids only. Unless a superstar ain’t happy and they’re just too good to turn down, portal players should be used for immediate starters to fill holes.

I'm nowhere near as high on Freeze as Pate and I don't think he's gonna be that great, but he's closer to Gus Malzahn than to Bryan Harsin.

2023 was just about surviving. 2024 is about development. 2025 and on is when I’d expect AU to challenge for the SEC and playoff. People don’t realize 2020-22 were the darkest years (roster and projection wise) at AU since the 70’s
We’ll see how good he is now that everyone gets to pay players.

I’m 66 I have suffered through all of the horrible decisions that Auburn has made through the years related to football coaches. It’s been rough. I feel they sold the soul of the university to hire Freeze. I don’t care if I watch a game or not anymore. Burned me bad. They didn’t really believe in the Auburn Creed. I no lobby tickets or go to games or donate money. Done.
I bet you were a Pat Dye/Tubberville fan. Both had plenty of scandals including paying players. Don’t act like AU has had squeaky clean coaches. Sounds a little biased to me…….

As an Auburn fan Freeze isn't on the hot seat. That being said if we get another 6 win season then he will most definitely be on the hot seat come 2025. Especially if the 2025 recruiting class falls apart. Then if he doesn't win at least 8 games in 2025 after 2 completely non productive seasons then he would be fired.... that's just Auburn football love it or hate it... I think we finish with 8 wins after the bowl game which will be enough to satisfy boosters and maintain a solid recruiting class

Josh let’s be real here, he beat 2015 Bama only because Lane Kiffin didn’t like Jake Coker as the QB. When Coker came in he brought Bama back in that game within a score very quickly. The sample size is too small at this point IMO, but I get where people are coming from on the hot seat talk. AU was a miserable watch last year, and it was vintage Freeze, way way up for the big ones and just looked like it didn't care the rest of the time. In today's SEC you can't do that, too many teams are too good. Hell, you couldn't do that in 2014 and 2015.
The over under win total is 7.5, even if it hits over, 8 wins, you've got a coach entering year 3 of a 6 year contract a hair over .500 (overall) and a losing record in the league. So do you rally the NIL money around Freeze going into 2025, and try and make that your year (Bama/UGA in AU & manageable road slate - Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt)? Do you extend his contract going into 2025?

Pate, you talk like the Auburn fan base is perfectly rational. They are the most delusional bunch in this country, seething in envy of their two rivals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They thought they were poised to dominate Alabama in recruiting, and are finding out that nothing has changed in Tuscaloosa, a point which you alluded to yourself recently. When Auburn is up to its old tricks, losing most of their October/November games as usual (Is New Mexico State coming for another visit?) they'll start talking about firing Freeze and enticing Jim Harbaugh back from the NFL. They can't help themselves, because they think they are the most important program in America.
If I was an Auburn fan I would not want my coaching staff to be on vacation when we are not at a dead period. If I am paying someone millions of dollars to put a good product on the field, I would not like you taking a vacation when you could have recruits on campus; especially the last weekend, which a lot of people that know CFB say is a pretty important weekend to have recruits on your campus.

I disagree about the QB strategy. You play in the SEC and it takes $$$ to be competitive. If you aren't willing to spend the money now when you need to rebuild and when the program is unattractive to many recruits; when will you be willing to spend the money? Auburn is simply not elite and is a bottom half program in the SEC.
