    How do you like this style of video? A lot more detailed than normal for us. Like the detail or prefer things more simple?

    • @jackkinoff6943
      @jackkinoff6943 Před 2 lety

      Nothing wrong with the detail in principle
      The method delivering it though is not right for this type of video
      You are covering far too many areas in 12 minutes
      Those videos you done in the past where you focus on the left wrist or left foot etc are perfect as you are sticking to one body part and drilling down hard on the subject
      What you are doing here isn't wrong Eric it just not packaged in the right way to deliver to people the message you want to give them

    • @maxwired2235
      @maxwired2235 Před 2 lety +3

      I think the detail is great. The student can easily break down the setup when practicing to engrain the feels through reps. I think teaching the why and not just the how is a huge bonus.

      @@jackkinoff6943 I disagree, I feel this was one of his best videos. Eric also did a great job of letting the guest coach do his thing. People want less detail there are plenty of shorts to view.

    Yes! I found this setup natural for me. When I have gone for instruction in the past the first thing they want to change is my setup, hands more centered and my stance squared. I can do it but this stance/posture is where I am at my best. I appreciate how you bring in other coaches.

    I start with a slightly closed stance feet flared as suggested. But then I prefer to pull my right shoulder back in a closed position. Instead of flexing my right knee I pre-straighten it. This method has exponentially improved my swing & stopped pulls.

    I like the last part when you talk about shaft angle and where your hands are. I have for a number of years not been able to get my actual swing to follow my practice swing. Someone suggested that when in position I bend over and touch my knees. Then stay in that position. In the few weeks I have been doing that my swing feels smooth and lot forcing it to hit the ball square. The only issue is to keep the club head flat on setup I have had to choke up almost two inches. Would it make sense to lift up slightly higher. not ready to but new fitted clubs until I can see results playing. For the driver are you more upright. I am hitting it good but thinking I am not getting the full benefit of that club by choking up. I have not lost any yards on my irons and hitting a more solid shoy

      @@CogornoGolf surprisingly I think I figured out why. Looked at some footage from my most recent session at an indoor simulator. I noticed from the video I've been raising up arms upward, rather than going around on the same swing plane. Also after watching another video from Jess Frank and Tom Saguto, it was more obvious I was lifting my arms. Much better strikes on the divot board!!!

  • @legend9018
    @legend9018 Před 2 lety +1

    Whenever my shots start to stray it’s usually something in my set up that has migrated out of where it should be. Whether it’s ball position, grip, stance, alignment etc. The fundamentals are so important because they are often the cause of some of your problems. The worst thing is you start tinkering with a swing that doesn’t need to be tinkered with!

      Ben hogan used a closed stance with his long irons and woods. He played a fade. Not all all athletes run, shoot, jump, or serve the same. The golf swing is not different. Yes there are some key fundamentals and requirements to get desired results. Eric is doing great in showing different ways to get the job done. I was playing the ball with my driver way of my left heel for the last three years and lost distance, going about 230 to 240 carry. Even though I was striking it well. Occasional pop up and or hook. I thought is was my age and swing speed slowing down. Higher ball flight. I recently moved it back and to my left pec/left ear. My accuracy and distance improved and I gained 10 to 15 yards of carry with a stronger trajectory. No pop ups and snap hook is gone. I play a low spin driver head/deeper face(PXG 0811 X 9 degree). I tend to hit center face to slightly heel with the driver when it is up toward left heel, now center face almost all the time. I use to play the ball back when I first started playing golf with my driver and only went more forward with all the hype about hitting up on the ball. I was about 5 to 6 degrees up. Now I am about 1 to 2 degrees up and when I hit a cut about 1 to 2 degrees down. The low spin head really manages the spin. I heard some time ago that fast hips ball back more, passive release. Slow hips ball more forward with more hand release.
