I hope you're not saying Red Dead Redemption is the goriest Rockstar game, because you would be overlooking the Manhunt series, which by far trumps the gore and violence in this game.
The "gore" isn't better, but the blood splatter and gunshot reactions are loads better. LOADS. Manhunt looks very dated by today's standards, so if you compared the two Red Dead would certainly look better. However, Manhunt's sound design is incredible. That's what really makes that game so brutal, those sounds are just brutal and nasty, and almost make you cringe. Gotta commend R* for that.
Well firstly, in defense of your first remark, Manhunt isn't supposed to predominately be focused on gun-play while Red Dead Redemption is. Also, Manhunt is for PC, so I'd imagine you could add a splatter effect or make better reactions, if you knew how, though perhaps I don't understand modding. I think the splatter and general reactions in Manhunt were good for their time. Obviously Red Dead Redemption is more aesthetically pleasing, that's like comparing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas to V. Manhunt came out in 2003 or 2004, so yeah, it's no wonder the game looks dated. Lol. I like Rockstar's general sound design, they're my favorite publisher, so I can agree with that latter part.

Unfortunately, there were no such physics in Rdr2. Physics are much stiffer and more predictable in Rdr2. But at least it has better physics than Gta 5. I hope we will have such complex, realistic and entertaining physics (Full Euphoria) in Gta 6.
At 3:40, I never realized your character will react to NPCs being shot. I mean, he could've also been reacting to the gunfire in general, but Jack seemed to respond as soon as one NPC shot the other beside him.

I hogtie them, put on horse, cut free, use lasso, and push them off the ledge while still in my hand. They basically hang. BUT sometimes they can bring you down with them.
