When Mike is sober he is one of the more intelligent former boxers, especially heavyweights, I've known of. Most guys his age have brain damage. Tyson was so elusive most of his career he rarely got hit hard in the head. Even in the Holyfield fights, he wasn't hit too bad compared to some beatings he gave others

Mike Tyson has always been an idol for me when it comes to boxing, he has had a rough time in his history in and out of the ring, and seeing him in this interview just really shows he is a real peoples champion, i hope one day i have the opportunity to meet this great man and great sportsman and i wish him and his family a safe and healthy life and may God rest the soul of his little angel daughter. We love you Mike here in australia. I hope your charity expands all over the world. Thanks Mike.

Tyson went to shake your hand and you left him hanging fighthub lol
He did not leave Tyson hanging. He used the hand he had available, which is his left, to shake Mike's hand in lieu of switching the mic. Therefore, with Tyson's hand being so low in view, you only see the top of Tyson's hand leaving the appearance his extended hand was ignored. If you watch more closely you will notice: 1) Marcos looks downward to Mike's hand; 2) the position of Morcos' left arm changes / extends slightly forward; 3) Tyson's hand switches to "grip" form; 4) their arms move.

well said mike judging really needs to change in boxing I had bad judging in one of my fights also and its just not right they need to come up with a different way like through cameras like football or something like that because judges are killing a beautiful sport.

thats not what he meant, he meant that it shouldnt be like that, i think he meant that it needs to be more definitive in order to declare a winner. I personally think they need to change back to fifteen rounds, gives more chance for knockout and if there is no knockout it will give the fight more time to develop and see who will start to fade first, who has the better conditioning.

Top contenders during Tyson's career all have one thing in common -- Tyson avoided them: Riddick Bowe, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis, Tommy Morrison, David Tua, and Ray Mercer, etc.
The government has enough on their plate. They don't need to waste time deciding whether or not Pacquio or Marquez wins.

Tyson is the best boxer of all time because he was basically something supernatural in strength, speed, elusiveness, defensiveness and the likes of which will never be seen again unless Mike himself finds a prodigy and trains them like Cus did with him and Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres. The only two who come close are Marciano (Mikes favourite boxer along with Ali) and Joe Louis who Mike said would have beat anyone including Ali from any era.

I agree with his point about the "single" point win - that's PURE arbitrariness on part of the judges, throwing ONE point in favor of some boxer to give him a win is utter bullshit.
If one fighter wins 6 rounds and the other wins 6 rounds, but one scores a knock down, that fighter would win by a point. As long as each of those rounds were won definitively, i don't see a problem. Basketball games are also decided by one point. Does that mean they need to change their scoring system too?

I think Mike should have a 'quiet' word with the judges before any fight takes place, that way there will always be a fair and impartial outcome.

I agree...however he did knock Tyson out which was unthinkable at that time. Douglas would never have that level of success again.
So there was a lot happening in his life at that time, that i understand. All those situations happening before he fought buster would certainly take their toll. Tyson became distracted and disinterested getting pummeled from start to finish!
Mike the answer is math! If there is a knockdown in any fight in odd numbers, the result will be very like be in favor for the winner an odd number score, many scored the second fight 6 rounds each and with the knockdown Manny won one point by Marquez losing one.

Exactly. Everyone seems to have selective vision and hearing. Manny was not only the larger of the two but also denied requests for Olympic Styled Drug Testing. So, I don't see how Marquez was supposedly on PEDs but Manny is in the clear.

Not the real government.. are you kidding? Right now their are too many underground deals happening which persuade judges to determin who wins the fight. A government is a body of power, Mike Tyson is saying that Boxing needs a government to oversee and determine who is qualified for judging, and who isnt. He's not talking about Uncle Sam. ..
I can see how you would think that since they happened around the same time, but that was a symptom of the bigger problem. He went from, well to be polite modest means to being the toughest, hardest KO king of all time with all the social and financial success that brings and was partying like...well the heavyweight champion of the world lol. Difficult to maintain focus with all that money and success as a teenager.
Go back and watch vids of him talking before he was famous and you'll find that he was a great man from the start. He just went through a crazy life, it would have done terrible things to any of us had we gone through that crap.

I know man, Douglas pretty much handed his own arse to Holyfield in his only defense,... if anything, for me that hurt much more than Tyson KO'd by him. This is where people must learn, that a journeyman, can be underated & this one changed the course of heavyweight boxing history to such an extent with his win against Tyson.
Mike is not only the greatest fighter ever to exist on the planet earth but he's one of the greatest altruistic humanitarians too!
I don't get how he was wondering why Pacquiao won one of their fights by one point. It's possible for a fight to be decided by one point. It's happened several times in boxing history. It's defenitely possible considering how boxing is scored.
