About The Daily Show:
Trevor Noah and The World's Fakest News Team tackle the biggest stories in news, politics and pop culture.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. - Komedie
Trevor is one of the few hosts that actually reads the books
Many of us take literacy and comprehension for granted. It's a big problem in SA. Those of us who appreciate books, will spend it on the privilege of education, ie reading.
How do you know? Or are you just assuming?
Andreas karlsson it’s because when she mentions a part of her book like “my husband wrote a section in my book” Trevor responses by pointing out a detail in the section she mentions
Not convinced. He might read parts of the book, but he definitely gets help through an earpiece.
@@lids5330 Yes but how do you know other hosts don't read their guests' work?
Man: you have it so easy being a woman and a minority
Ali: yeah because historically that’s always been a winning combo
@S W White privilege is still a problem. The white people that whine about it are just mad they can't skirt away anymore as if nothing is going on.
And the white male wins while everyone else waste time talking about them. Funny how this video becomes about white men. I'm sure that's what they wanted.
@S W what privilege you talk about? the fact what white male is most successful group through history? what they was most smart and stronger than anyone else? this privilege? it's not fucking privilege it's hard work and pain.
Aiwass L LMFAOOO YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS 💀💀💀☠️
@@grassfedcharlie you really should learn history.especially 20th century, ww1,ww2 etc. the only reason why white men not single handedly rule the world - is the other white men. we are stronger and smarter than all other groups combine. the modern world is successful because of white men. in countries like Germany you now can live even without working just for state allowance, lol. can you imagine this in 13th century? or any other? say thanks to white men for what.
Can we all take a minute and admit how very much we love her hairstyle?!
I was just thinking that! It's so cute!
It’s almost like she made Mickey ears with her updo!
Yup.
look´s like a 12 year old :p ugly and so bad ;) IMO - suck it :p
Holy crap yes, it's really great!
Yeah because historically that’s always been the winning combo 😂👍🏼
Watch the fix on Netflix. It's a comedy show but they have real stats about different problems and you can see how is for asians in America ;)
@Viper 47 that is not a disadvantage. A small population having a small presence is just proportionate.
@Viper 47 you just offered yourself up as an example of how anti-blackness exists amongst all races. The idea that Asians just work harder ignores racism and colorism. Proliferating the model minority myth doesn't help Asians either. There are a lot of complicated things at play, but insinuating other races struggle because they don't work hard is bullshit. Also, in many places like New York, Asians make up the highest percentage of those in poverty. Poor, "unsuccessful" people are usually very hard working- many times more than successful people.
Vincent the concept of being “model minorities” gets kind of suffocating
Vincent hey bb. From the Chinese Exclusion Act and red taping, to the dangerous “model minority” perception, it is safe to say, yes Asian Americans are disadvantaged in the United States (in comparison to who though, you didn’t mention? I’m going to assume white people, as you compared them in another response)
In fact, in NYC where this was filmed, Asian Americans have the highest poverty rate.
Also, those percentages you used which minimize the impact of systematic and social racism, are incorrect. If you want a little more information you can check this link out: www.urban.org/urban-wire/asian-americans-are-falling-through-cracks-data-representation-and-social-services
I really like that as a host, Trevor genuinely seems to know the content of her book and engages in a discussion that’s less superficial
He's always prepared, that's why I love him.
In the beginning he seemed a little shy, that’s really sweet... ☺️
“Be a better white guy!” 🤣🤣🤣
Random white guy: "but I don't want too, is to hard" *cries
“he’s not a very successful comedian so i don’t think you know who he is...”’
“no i don’t”
i love trevor 😂
Than watch him be on his show.
@@lking1540 who was it?
@@hritikadhavde2729 who knows?
She is so gorgeous. I need a glasses fitting with her bc her glasses are always on point! never loose or sliding down!
I read somewhere that her hack is that she buys sunglasses and then changes the lenses
Two tips: If you have glasses with metal frames, you can bend the frame so the glasses "hug" you more. There is also a bees wax product witch you put behind your ears to "glue" the glasses to your head :)
@@youngsavag666 a lie, she remains cute AF! Stop being mean.
@@youngsavag666 ? so what of race, makes no sense; she is a beautiful, talented woman
This is purposefully done, oversized frames give the aesthetic. High quality expensive eyewear gives the functionality or fit you are talking about, and she has the money for it is all.
This convo between two of my favorite comedians >>>
Same!
Agree!
Yes!!!
Trevor is the most unfunny carbon based lifeform in the most Milkyway
@@adamski8985 I doubt it.
I love Trevor!!! He always seems like he genuinely cares about anyone who is featured on his show and he always asks the right questions 👍
"The grind before", inspirational words about life and what struggles we don't see our parents go through
She is so extremely talented. I absolutely love her!!
And she works so hard to maintain and improve her talent
@@Its_Jess00 I am sure she does. You are so right.
I didn’t expect to feel a little chocked up when Ali talked about the story behind writing her book. I would love to read letters from how my parents survived life.
Such a great interview. Trevor is literally the best interviewer on any comedy show right now. Good questions, good pace, and very genuine, I loooooove it.
Props to Trevor for actually reading Ali’s book.
Cin He could be lying lol
@@nettw4703 easily
"men can read the book too, trevor!!"
beautiful.
Whenever Ali talks about her dad I always start to tear up. You can just tell how much love she has for him 💕
I like her interview with Trevor more than I like her interviews with Ellen.
No shade to Ellen, but this interview just flows better.
I felt like there was a lot of tension when Ellen interviewed Ali, somehow their style of comedy clashed.
@@MusicforMe123 Nah, it's just that Ellen is a trash human being and Trevor is intelligent, warm and personable lol
Yes agreed!
Omg her hair is too cute
"Be a better white guy!" HILARIOUS 😂🤣 😅🥰😝🤩😍😎🤓
"Because historically being a female minority has been such a combination recipe for success!"
Is it that hard to rewatch 10 seconds of the video so that you don't completely butcher the quote?
@@jcwynn4075 "everyone knows that in history there has always been a success story if you're female and minority at the same time in a combination of recipe for success. female and minority combination wins y'all!" -not Ali Wong
Cute? Not even. She's gorgeous. And one of the funniest comedians going. She makes me laugh from my toes up. And that hair do, holy moley!
"Historically that's always been the winning combo!" Hilarious Ali, I'm a big fan of both movies & standups :)
I want those glasses. I love her sass. She says things in the most hilarious way.
Noah is such a smart host. He doesn't just passively listen to his guests. He actually engages them. It's impressive
This interview just made me love her so much more 💗💗💗
Ladida.....me too.... "you're cute, but you're not that cute"! She is adorable and speaks comedic truth about women!
Really? Because I found her a little bitchy.
Finally i wanted her to be here fo so long. And finally shes here. Love her. Love u trevor.
She's totally right about women in comedy. I tried it but I don't know if I can handle it for the long term...
You CAN. The question is how bad do you want it?
@@sanctusignis9746 Not THAT bad. haha I'm about to switch to improv!
She’s gorgeous, funny, talented, versatile! Superstar quality !
This is a great interview, I love how Trevor cares and is invested in who he talks to. Happy this audience recognizes how funny and talented she is too! Complete opposite of that Ellen interview...
it's like Ellen's audience is a bunch of ditzy suburban white women who love Starbucks
Ali has always been a woman role model for me. She has shown me that if you want something you just go get it, and I really needed that a few years ago, as well as now.
I like how Ali Wong has no filter. Even off stage
Damn, her story with his dad writing her a letter about his life. I'll definitely do that to my future kids.
I was super pregnant for my first and only time when her first special came out and so much of what I experienced before and during was extremely relevant.
I’m super inspired by the idea of writing letters to my daughter. Massive respect Ali🙏
Douchebag Comedian: You get all this attention bc you’re both a female and a minority.
Ali: Yeah cuz you know historically that’s always been the winning combo for recognition and success.
The accuracy 😂👌🏻
yeah, right. broke me up, too xDDD so good xD
Well he has a point, in today world you have to make jokes based on your own thing otherwise your racist.
lking1540 dude shut the hell up, comics have been talking about race and making jokes since the beginning of the craft.
That was so short. I would have liked to hear more about being a female comedian.
Christie Brown same. Also, ur pretty 😳
buy the book, it's really good.
"Yeah, cause, you know, historically, that's always been the winning combo for recognition and success!" HAHAHAHA So amazing!!!
Much love from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼... Twabam
Exactly Ali!
Your “WINNING COMBO”?
Your Success is earned...
Love her hair bow. She's so talented ♥
I will watch and read anything and everything she does! Shes amazing
You know what stands out about Trevor as an interviewer? He genuinely listens when the guest is talking and isn't just trying to get through talking points. It makes the conversation flow so much more naturally. And I really appreciate that he actually reads the book when he has an author on. It's obvious from how he references specific points and can add to parts their bringing up that his writers aren't just feeding him this information.
Man... I thought they were going to have a comedy battle on stage! Next time Ali and Trevor. You are both my fave comedians!
She is my favorite Jungle Asian. And before people reading this get mad, go watch her first special. Very funny.
DyslexicAnaboko but she’s half fancy asian tho... lol
@@nmika7700 you're absolutely right. I forgot the gag was she and her husband are both halfsies. I love that bit.
Love her . She’s authentically funny
Hers and Tiffany’s book are the two books I actually want to read
I waited so long.......... She's my hero ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks to Netflix I do watch a bit a few of these shows and Ali Wong has probably been one of my favorites so far, she's awesome and loved her in this interview too, Trevor did not have to work hard for this one, she pretty much ran the show here and with a personality like her it works so well! :D He could just throw his feet up on the table and enjoy the show! Awesome shit! :D Just sad that the world is once again moving backwards... I'm honestly scared for the future right now. :(
She's a darling. RESPECT
The only 2 comic I watch on Netflix in one screen. Oh I must be dreaming ... 😍
Dave
shes wonderful, so talented and hilarious! here's to a long career!!!
She is so refreshing!! And I love watching her. 💕
Ali Wong approved for us gentlemen let's go buy it lol.
no, she was reminding Trevor to not reduce the potential audience of her book down to just women.
Love her!! Need more fearless female comics like her because women need to tell their stories-our lives can really be hilarious and it’s important for men to hear them!!
My top two comedians one the same show?!?!
She is the cutest thing! I just love her! And I love what she's wearing, it has so much personality to it which is very fitting for her!
Trevor always does a great job! Each interview I can tell he actually does his research!!!
Ali Wong is the Asian woman I want to become
Me too and I'm not even Asian
@@jennamarcus4283 That's fine. You don't need to be Asian to be as successful and wonderful as Ali.
I don't know why I'm focusing on how Trevor holds Ali's hand so gently at the end
I love Ali Wong. Baby Cobra was my #1 favorite comedy special of 2016. And that Netflix movie she did was a super cute romcom.
Two amazing comedians on the same stage, just lovely
I love her! She’s so hilarious!! 💗
She is sooooo good. i only recent found her and I love her comedy and her personality is just so chill.
“Be a better white guy!!”
Funny
Easier said than done.
Wow...my two favorite together!!! The story is so touching Ali....
Loved the book. Didn’t know there was an afterword by Ali Wongs husband and found it so endearing. You can feel the love they have for each other
So crazy she's a movie star now! I saw her at the Cobb comedy club in San Francisco about 10 years ago. She was the littlest person I had ever seen on a stage to who wasn't a child🤣
Watching these two people in the same screen is all I wanted! 🥰 Please do a collaboration in the future!
She's friggin hilarious. 🤣
I'll comeback after watching her comedy and the movie she stars in.
I live in Europe and I loved all 3. Expecially the first stand up
Relatable, have a nice day.
Although I've already watched one standup special of hers, and it's so good!
I wish I'd had a dad like yours! Great interview, Ali rocks ♥️
I love Ali Wong. She got it all. The looks and the brain. The winning combo!
Thank you for realizing how important every breath you take was a decision. That is how fast our minds work.
"so is my apartment." Gold!
MY FAVOURITE SEGMENT EVERRR!! My top-top favourite inspirations
I love their banter!! They’re on a similar wavelength of just being kind, funny, and smart.
She can react very quickly in the conversation and response with wit and humor.
the fact that she kept working so late into her pregnancy o-o that's dedication, at that point of pregnation people can barely sleep
I love Ali Wong. Great interview.
Absolutely love this woman. She is one of the top comedians right now. Her specials are as rewatchable as Chappelle’s, Burr’s or Jo Koi’s.
Are you seriously putting Jokoy and Wong in the same presence as Burr and Chapelle? I bet you think Taylor Swift is a good musician too.
Homer Simpson Read the comment carefully and slowly. I was talking about the specials and I said right now. Btwy Jo Koi recently sold out the forum in L.A. and is going to Radio City Music Hall. Their career arc will determine their greatness.
@@homersimpson5964 so let me understand here. Your inference from my original comment is a clearer statement of my opinion than that original comment and it's subsequent clarification?
@@2011joser You try way too hard. Don't ever associate Jokoy or Wong with Burr or Chapelle. Cheers.

When two of your favorite comedians is together ->
Still crushing on her frames😍
I love this woman.
After listening to her audio book makes me want to write a book to my kids... she reads it too so you hear it the way she means it, and I find that's kinda rare
I LOVE her glasses
That bow knot!! 😍😍😍
I wish this was longer.
I so need to read this book!
Love her energy❤

Love Her!
Two of my very successful, and favorite screen personalities.❤
Will miss Trevor supremely, but wish him continued success.❤
Ali Wong, rock on!
I love both of you- you're both so good!!!
Ali is so great , the best wishes for her
5:20 "you think about that, and it ah..." Her mouth pulls into the side and you know there was some really rapy situation that she is glossing over right there.
