Finally; Radovid tries to kill him and even more importantly Radovid would be against Ciri if she becomes empress. The last reason being by far the most important. • @STPstudio47
    @STPstudio47 Před 2 lety +71

    This whole Radovid thing is the worst mistake in the game. Radovid wasn't a good guy in Witcher 2, but he wasn't a straight up villain. He was willing to help Geralt and Roche in Roche's path. Hell, there was a possibility for Roche to join Redania and give Anais to him as his future wife (if Adda's dead) or as a family member and the future queen of Temeria united with Redania. It all goes nowhere. Witcher 3 for some reason really wants us to side with nilfgaard despite the whole regicide in previous game. Let's be real, Radovid didn't commit as much war crimes and persecution as Emhyr or Henselt, and yet in Witcher 2 when you have a choice to kill Henselt there is an actual moral dillema, that without a king there is chaos and pretty much the same amount of death and conflicts. There is no dillema with killing Radovid... And there's the worst quest, Reason of State, that basically ruins Radovid, he wants to kill Geralt just because... This is straight up saying "Good good player, see? You made the right choice, even if you had dillema you don't need it now". Witcher series isn't supposed to be black and white, good or bad, it's all gray areas. The game doesn't adress any good things about Radovid's rule (like uniting the North so that there are no more wars between any kingdoms taken by Redania, Nilfgaard leaving the North alone etc.). Such a waste of potential that we see in the previous scenes, Vesemir being on his side, nilfgaardian saying that Radovid is a tactical genius and played nilfgaard like fools with his swift attack on Kaedwen, meeting him in the chess club, he actually helps us with Junior, his plans for taking Novigrad (using same politics as Church of Eternal Fire in order to get influence within the city and take it without invading it), his hate for Philippa and mages when he tells us about how he was treated by her years ago, what he went through. At least we got this one quest with searching for Philippa where we can side with him at least once. Shame... Also, I feel like Geralt doesn't treat him like he should, as if the game tells us from the beggining to be against him. In Witcher 2 he calls him Sire, Your Majesty, and in Witcher 3 almost every time he casually talks to him like to some random soldier. I feel like there should be an option to convince Roche and tell Radovid about Philippa and Dijkstra's plot. For that we could be offered high reward and Temeria being free.

    • @STPstudio47
      @STPstudio47 Před 2 lety +11

      @@xseperatistx Another problem is that there's no choice in this quest. It's go kill Radovid and it just goes well. When you play you want to have all quests done, so when I played witcher 3 I obviously participated in this quest (when I refused the game said "quest failed"), I thought there would be a choice during the conversation on his ship to tell Radovid about the assasination plot and as a proof give him the ring. But nah, game just kinda forced me to kill him. That's a really bad way to implementing such an impactful choice, do the quest or don't. It's as if Ciri's life depended on one quest so you're basically always gonna have her alive because naturally you do the quest.

    • @thedarkemissary
      @thedarkemissary Před 2 lety +7

      Bro, listen to your own examples. Radovid tosses Junior aside as soon as he's no longer useful. Like he does to Geralt. That's called consistency. Saving the North from the Nilgaardian tyranny so that it can be ruled by the Redanian tyranny. In fact, if you don't do Reason of State, he wins the war. You're complaining that he's not "gray" enough, but that's only because you're forcefully sided with 2 hot mages as love interests. ie, it's narratively mandatory that you don't side with the mage-killers. That's like complaining that you can't side with Eredin. From Radovid's point of view, mages present the greatest threat to the common people, so hunting them down and killing them is actually for the greater good. I'd wager the structure would be entirely different if Rads had just wanted to hunt Philippa and Philippa alone.

If you use magic lamp to initiate spirit's scene and walk away while holding the lamp models lose spirit form and disappear, then reappear as low resolution models of regular peasant boy and Lambert.

    @xLetalis , Just recently found this out.. what people might have missed... When exploring the sewers with Shani to kill the toad prince, there comes a tunnel where Geralt drops a torch and says It's deep. Shani mentions the skeleton key and most of us use the key to get through another way, but if you just jump through the hole, the fact being that you didn't find the key and opened the gates, shani will have a different dialogue.
    Most people don't just jump as Geralt saying that it's deep, makes them think that perhaps jumping is gonna kill them...also, we like exploring everything and not to a quick run

Why?

  • @laczadore
    @laczadore Před 2 lety +3

    few details I think you may have missed (hopefully at least one!)
    - when priscilla is asking Geralt if they can start writing the theater act you can leave the conversation and go straight to madame Irina (priscilla tells geralt location earlier in conversation) which will result in rare dialogue line. Normally Geralt saying that act is already done, but if you do it this way dialogue would be different
    - if you trust annabelle and bring her bones to graham then after you leave his house you hear scream and receive task to check what happened, but you do not need to do it, and depending on it there will be dialogue change when you return to Keira (Geralt says that Graham is dead, or that Graham had to simply take care off the bones so he thinks everything went okay)
    - different piece of dialogue with Keira if you already visited laboroatory where you find annabelle (normally geralt says that he didnt find it yet, if you discovered it earlier he simply says "yes":D
    - lying to Dijkstra in Henckel's house saying that Henckel told Geralt about Dijkstra's money will make Dijkstra saying one additional word! When he says to Geralt "you lied to me" (about Dandelion, after you burnt witch hunters barracks) he adds "again". Normally if it Henckel's house you said that "it is not important" he won't add it
    - different dialogue with Letho first meeting depending on whether you stepped into at least one of his traps, or avoided all of them. Also I heard that there is 3rd dialogue if you defuse all of his traps but i wasn't able to get it so I'm not sure
    - different dialogue with Brandon after you clear his magazine and witch hunters came. It depends on your choose to get fully paid in advance, get half of money in advance, or not getting any money in advance at all
