As a huge Celtic fan, I’ve no problem acknowledging that the EPL is bigger than the SPL - bigger, that is, in terms of money and therefore competitiveness. But the “size” of a club is a less measurable thing - and I contend Celtic is a huge club in terms of history, followership, meaning, style of football and yes… even on-pitch quality👏 If politics wasn’t limiting had our freedom to compete in a bigger pond, we’d be right up there with the extra € that competing in a EPL-type league would bring. And just to show I’m not biased, I’d even contend that to be also true of the lesser club in Glasgow😉

Ange came to Celtic at the perfect time, a total rebuild was needed including the CEO. He was given the room to do his own thing, he wouldn't get that kind of time or opportunity in the EPL. Take over existing squad and only minor changes allowed. He has always cleaned out the old squad and brought in his own players wherever he went. It's his style. Imagine an EPL club giving him that leeway.

Don't be surprised if Ange ends up at Man City in the future, He has been part of the City Group for over a decade and he is very highly thought of by them. His move to Celtic was at least in part a result of the loose City Group / Celtic connection.
His name is already on the EPL radar but I would doubt that he will leave for at least 2 to 3 seasons . He is a guy that likes to build and have a good record to look back at.

It’s not even a debate. Celtic are globally a massive football team. Villa and Brighton aren’t even in the same ballpark. Celtic are huge it’s genuinely not even close and Villa are big. As a young man in OZ Ange dreamed of playing at the pinacol of world football as all youngsters do he doggedly perused his dream and gained experience as a professional under greats of the game all the time waking up in the early hours of the morning to watch football with his Dad. When his time as a player was over he moved into coaching but always remembered those beautiful teams he watched with his dad Real Madrid and the Celtic side of 67 while still dreaming of taking on world football. He must of dreamed of a chance to be Celtic manager or perhaps another Giant club of world football and you think the chaff of the prem will tempt him from being a History maker building the best footballing Celtic side i have ever seen and going toe to toe with Europe's elite. With the best fans in World football in a theatre of Dreams where magic fills the air and the best players in the world come away raving of the atmosphere .

He’s probably never going to be top of the list for any of the top 6 if he stays at Celtic, on the flipside, he might not see the point in leaving a champions league club and winning league titles, to go to a mid table club in the prem. Gerrard has proved that success in Scotland (and some in Europe too) is no guarantee of success in the prem, so I think that’s partly what Ange will have against him. Luckily for him, the prem isn’t the only league and he can move abroad to another top European league eventually

They have the certainty of playing in the competition. Similar Teams like Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova), Young Boys (Switzerland) and Malmo FF (Sweden) play in it year in and out, the same way as the Scottish teams. It doesnt make you a massive club or a disireable place to further your career.
The old firm fixture is the reason players/managers wish to experiance. Players start or end their careers there, the PL will always be a step up thats just the way it is. Also, the Larsson reference was hilarious, as she was trying to think of another, similar player who stayed at either club during the height of their career. Apart from him (and he ended up at UTD BTW) theres not another she could think off, from either club! but to be fair i cant either, which sort of proves my point.
Before the backlash comes of this or that player spending their whole careers up there or the big names that may of played for them comes my way, its most likely that they either, wasnt good enough for PL, or had to reignite their career for various reasons or were die hard supporters themselves.

The only clubs in england comparable or bigger than celtic is man u, arsenal and liverpool. Teams like tottenham, chelsea and man city are much larger commercially and have a great platform for being able to compete and reach the top level. But all the other clubs regardless of whether they have more money do not offer enough to leave celtic whilst you are successful. History has shown that those who leave the old firm whilst successful and go to lesser clubs with bigger budgets struggle. Unless they are mercurial talents like van dijk. But for managers it has always been the case that leaving for a less than top team ends in disaster. Right now brendan rodgers and steven gerrard are proving that. Even martin o'neil never reached the same heights after leaving Celtic. If ange can do what the likes of rodgers couldn't and make a real mark in europe over his tenure, he'll be guarenteed a top job. The logic for ange is to stay and be as successful as possible, only then will the right move become available and the at that point he'll leave a legend with everybodies blessing
