It wasn't too long ago that I didn't see anything cool about Starcraft. Now, I have a whole new respect for Kerrigan and her Zerg minions.

The rate in wich Kerrigan meets the strongest enemy she ever faced you could think shes a dragonball charackter
you know, it is really nice that Kerrigan, when reforming herself into a primal zerg, a creature of perfectly evolved killing machine, she armored up her torso BUT kept the fleshy weakpoints that are her breasts intact.

The Zerg evolve very purposely, retaining body parts that serve the swarm's purpose, while upgrading or discarding parts that don't. Some body parts serve a more.... "diplomatic" function.

She is not sympathetic though and she is a villain the other guy is entirely wrong, genociding entire worlds causing billions of innocents to die for petty revenge against mengsk who left her to die because she was scheming against him and had killed his family, betraying all her friends, completely undoing everything raynor and his rebels sacrificed so much for and so on. She is nothing but a backstabbing murderous alien but atleast before heart of the swarm she wasnt crazy but in this campaign they just made her go completely nuts.
@@BattIeFrog pretty sure killing someone that a person truly loves will make anyone go nuts. Even if it was a lie, the most reasonable person will turn and wreak havoc to those that are responsible and when they find out about the lie it gets even worse. Mengsk manipulated her to become the Queen of Blades again so he can kill her as we find out later on. That doesn’t make her a villain, that makes her a victim.
As stated, she is neither villain, nor really antagonist. Starcraft universe is unique in this sense. People(and not only people) are doing awful things including betrayal, genocide and experiments on other sentient beings and they all have some kind of justification for it. So, Arthur Mengsk is more evil than Kerrigan being driven by his lust to power. She never actually wanted power. She became a godlike creature against her will by betrayal of the people whom she trusted most and became the most hated and lonely person in the universe even not being aware of her deeds. And now, the only person who still believed in her and went through hell for her, the only her connection to humanity was executed by the same guy that betrayed her and made her a monster in the first place. She is not human technically and from this point on she doesn't consider herself as one, but still able to compassion. Unlike Mengsk, btw. So, judging her and tagging her as evil would be against the lore.

A nice reminder that the Wrath of the Swarm had to create some lovable Gleep Glorp Zerg characters, to great success. Dehaka and Abathur are two of my fav chars in the SC universe. I think SCI had like "vibrating centipede egg 1" and "vibrating centipede egg 2"

The campaign is fun. Not the best story-writing ever, but still very fun and well-designed.

Warfield wasn't a particularly good general. He was plodding, predictable, uncreative. General Duke was a much better commander. But Warfield was a good man and his men loved him and that still counts for a lot.

Raynor is correct about this- killing him and Mengsk would end up creating a martyr out of him. And one of 'em who would be inspired by his martyrdom is Sarah Kerrigan.
My only question with the Raynor scene of the two uniting again is where and how does he have a gun while being a prisoner.
Probably hoping he commit suicide in the solidarity or kill Kerrigan after seeing her Zerg mode

The part where Mengsk announces Jim's death does for me. When he says "we have won", I shake my head and whisper, "no, you've lost." He had no idea Kerrigan was listening, or how pissed off she was.
Best part of the scene is that Warfield knew his men survived, as the lights only stay on as long as a pilot is alive

At the beginning of the campaign she ordered her swarm to massacre the Dominion troops. By the time she meets up with Valerian and the Hyperion she orders the Zerg to not harm them. What an amazing example of a bad girl becoming...less bad.

It'll never sit right with me how Blizzard did Glynnis Talken Campbell so dirty after she spent so many years lending her voice to so many iconic Blizzard characters. No offense to Tricia Helfer (the woman who voiced Kerrigan in SC2) but Glynnis will always be the true voice of Kerrigan.

I love the game but way how they made Zergs so "human" is gigantic turnoff.
If they wanted to bring back "smart zergs" she should have created some sort of Cerebrates like there were in 1st game.
Kerrigan is human by culture. Is it that surprising that she developed a Zerg swarm that could talk back to her?
I mean of course the Zerg became more humanlike under Kerrigan, Kerrigan was raised human, and the directing mind of the Swarm reshapes the swarm in her own image.

Anyone think that Niadra and her brood are gonna come back to bite Kerrigan's efforts in the ass one day? Could have been a great epilogue story arc; seeing a zerg civil war arise or small skirmishes that don't involve the species involved as a whole.
There's an official comic called "Shadow Wars" where you see the continuation of Niadra's story

Such a great game, great graphics and missions but the story & plot were imo really really nonsensical and weak.
When in WC3 the orcs we’re suddenly smart and not the evil anymore I really enjoyed it but the humanization of the Zerg imo was an absolutely terrible idea.
This... in original SC Zergs felt like brainless animals who just obey a big tentacle brain that also have barely any way to communicate except some hive mind. Dont get me wrong, the Cerebrates in original SC did talk like humans to the player but they were still just blobs of some brain matter.
In Heart of Swarm eh..... somewhat justified by the fact that Kerrigan purposely wanted Zergs to adapt to terrans, but it should have been in mid of the campaign and not before it.
