  • This time I'm out on a one day tour of England's capital city, London. I try to visit every iconic building and structure that I can think of (so there are quite a few) and generally enjoy a sunny day triking all over the city.

    Another fabulous video Tim. Many thanks again for sharing!
    That‘s also one of the reasons why riding a recumbent and a trike in particular is so much fun. You get a completely different view on the things and places around you when riding along. Just love it! 😊
    I’ve been to London a few times before, but your video gives a hole different view to it. Well done! 👍🏻

      Not worrying about balancing etc is a great plus on trike riding. So much more time to lift your head and look around. I see so much more now than I ever did on two wheels.
      Thanks again for commenting. 👍

    Tim. Hi. Going back through some of your older vids as I’m missing your daily ones. I enjoyed this one - especially the drone shots at the end - thanks.
    Researching spd shoes for my wide flat feet and about to bid on an ICE Adventure on eBay as knee is progressing well. All the best.

      Hi Graham. Glad to hear the knee is getting there. I'll try and put some new stuff out next week if I get half a chance.

    I have NEVER seen London SO quiet!

      The joys of London on a Sunday I guess. There were busier places (like Piccadilly) but of course it harder to get the camera out in traffic too.

    Thanks Tim - great video. I lived in The Cut, Waterloo 1967-1969 and worked at 2 Millbank. I did much walking (and rode a Lambretta) around the City areas you showed us - so nostalgia ruled today ! The area down by Woolwich looks like a good ride - I have seen it before in Velo-Ads and Graham Williams CZcams videos. Looks like a good days ride down one side of the river and back up the other. The Greenway - well it looked like my front nature strip here in Tasmania from December to March (summer). Thanks again and well done.

    very nice. love trike videos. just began riding one myself. I find the view is much better than from any bike (unless a high wall is alongside.

    I've never been to London, and I like triking, so this was a good watch for me. seems to be little parking or bike lanes. I live in Portland, Oregon, USA, considered the biking capital of America, so I'm used to bike paths EVERYWHERE!

    Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. I'll be watching this several times, it's so full of touring goodness! When I was there, I hardly noticed the actual landmarks. I was more hoping to catch a glimpse of the Beatles or the Stones than the Queen. What a twit! lol Youth is wasted on the young...

    Great way to tour any city. Thanks Tim. By the way, when you selected your HPV trike, did you consider the Made in England ICE version, and why did you select the Scorpion?

    • @TimsTrikeTrips
      @TimsTrikeTrips  Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately there were no ICE trikes available for me to try at the time. Yes of course I could have travelled and ridden one but at the time I wasn't as aware of the different choices and makes available. But if I was buying again today I would travel a long way and try out as many different models as I could.
      That said, the Scorpion is a real pleasure to ride. Its a premium quality trike and I'm very happy with it too. Of the 4 different trikes that I did try out the scorpion just stood out for style, stability and comfort.

    Lovely town indeed like 30 years ago when i visited London; even better whitout traffic and whith all the recent cycle paths and bike lanes. Whith all the security enforcement something strange feels in the air thow it is not seen .Thank you.

    How much does your Trike weigh?

    • @TimsTrikeTrips
      @TimsTrikeTrips  Před 5 lety

      The standard trike weighs in at around 17kgs. With the added extras I have on mine its around 21 to 22kgs. With my touring gear you can add a further 12 to 18kgs (depending on where I'm going) and I weigh 86kgs. I got the upgraded rear suspension so I'm good for upto 150kg not that I'd ever want to push that sort of weight uphill 😯

    Enjoyed the video.Took three sessions to get it all in. Must have a short attention span. Only ever set foot in an airport in England so I have never really had the chance to tour about. The wife has been a few times. I see you repaired your fender with "duct tape". It holds the Military together so why not.👍👌

    • @TimsTrikeTrips
      @TimsTrikeTrips  Před 5 lety

      Well thanks for sticking with it and seeing it to the end Rick. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The duct tape only lasted so long unfortunately. So I'm still looking for a more permanent solution.

    • @rickdenbraber6869
      @rickdenbraber6869 Před 5 lety +1

      Having seen the problems you are having with your fender I am going to give making my own a try in the future. My experiment will be to see if I can make a lighter more durable fenders out of wood. The last website I looked at had a price of $275.00 US for fenders for a trike. I think it would cost less to make it myself and allow me to play with some wood bending etc... Just some things I was thinking of. I am a woodcarver and have a bit of a shop and access to a full shop when I need it. I also have a certificate in Joinery so I balk at spending that much for a bit of scrap wood lol.
