Vivien Leigh is my favorite actress and I believe her performance in GWTW is best performance by any actor ever. Her beauty was extraordinary and her talent on the screen and the stage is incredible. If the medication had been available, who knows what she would have been able to achieve. She will forever be remembered.
FOR ME...I think DURING THOSE YEARS 1930's-1950's Leigh was this just this staggering beauty. When she smiled her eyes lit up the screen Really had nothing to do with her measurements it was her,,,, aura and talent
She was an incredible actress. Heavy cigarrette smoking shortened her life. Such a shame but her performance in GWTW and Streetcar were so amazing and will live on as a tribute to her great talent...
Hera una de las actrices de rasgos más bonitos y buena interpretaciones hizo en su trayectoria profesional pena me produjo su desgracia siempre la tendré presente como artista preferida
Except Vivien died in 1967, at the age of 53. She was the most beautiful women to ever grace the Silver Screen. Probably the most beautiful woman who ever lived. She was also a very gifted actress. She set the beauty standards so high most women can’t meet them, and ruined me forever when I saw her in Waterloo Bridge as a 14 year old boy with my mother who used to love watching old sentimental movies because after I grew up, I looked for my Vivien with no success.
Marelyn Monroe just wanted eternal youth and beauty and I think the fear of dying old and unknown who drugged to death, unlike Vivien Leigh, who despite having died at the age of 53, victim of tuberculosis, possessed a beauty that many other acrizes or women can not boast. Above all the actresses that Hollywood has ever contemplated, Vivien Leigh occupies the most prominent place of them all, and despite being in 16th place in AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Stars, their rightful place should be # 1!
I am looking for this coming November 5. We will mark the centennial birthday of Vivien Leigh! And I am sure that we will be able to witness that of Olivia de Havilland in another three years. Olivia and I were born on July 1. That is why I somehow feel close to her. She could silence many young women were she alive now.
This music is proper for her? as she was not only lovely but also very active and energetic, therefore it is still unbelievable that she died, she seems to be still alive
Yes, there were a great many beauties, but how many were also great actors? Waterlou Bridge was another shining star for Vivien. Her role in "Streetcar" was also excellent. She had it all. But..her mental condition, was a hazard for her. I think 7 years on stage, in "Streetcar" may have been too much for her..
I love Vivien I thought she was one of the best actresses and also the most attractive. Bad choice of music though! Why not something more gracious than some stupid pop celine dion song?
@FanofBewitched How can you not like ... go back over his years only to see her in person! fortunati quelli che le sono potuti stare accanto....Ciao dall italia!
Actually I think the music for this video is great for someone who lived such a remarkable, eventful life. Though many, including me, would disagree with some of Vivien's choices and behaviors she had the guts to do things others wouldn't and to pursue what she wanted and she had great achievements as she used her gifts. Too if viewers don't like the music there's nothing wrong with just keeping that to yourself. It's just a matter of taste and preference and courtesy, not a moral issue.
Your welcome:) I had a lot of fun making it. It seems like forever ago since I've made it. No they sure don't. I'm doing a paper on classic Hollywood and how things just aren't like they used to be. Which is so sad:(
Thanks:) I hope to. The thing I have trouble with is coming up with the music. After you make so many videos you begin to run out of songs to pick from lol. But I'm glad you liked this video:)
Quelle idée saugrenue , pour évoquer une si belle et grande actrice , que de l'illustrer par une '' musique'' aussi anachronique, inadéquate et si désagréable, de surcroît !
Very interesting observations & comments. I see Vivien as beautiful in a dainty, ethereal way, not really sexy to me but sophisticated & classy, even upper class. Marilyn had a bigger, curvier build & a more sexual, perhaps earthier presence & appearance. I find both women very attractive tho in different ways & enjoy just looking at them. I like Vivien better as an actress & wish Marilyn had more opportunity to develop her own talent. Apparently they didn't like each other too well. Sad.
My grandparents' and parents' generation, two world wars but still the cultural achievements and scientific advances were phenomenal. Somehow Stalin and resultant anti-communism leading into the Vietnam war produced a cultural revolution that was also necessary, but America never recovered from the self brutalization of slaughtering three million Vietnamese. We see the effects of that at the end of 2012.
I'm wondering if the short clip of Viven at :45 is a GWTW screen test. The way she turns is so much like the early GWTW scene in which she turns and gives Hattie McDaniel "the look". Joan Bennett said that she herself was to play Scarlett. Not sure of the sequence but maybe no contracts had been signed so the part was still "available". No criticism of Joan but, as you said, Vivien "is Scarlett".
Not what David Selznick says in his biography. Paulette Goddard would have gotten the Scarlett role if VL had not been introduced to Selznick by his brother Myron, on a back lot while filming Atlanta burning for GWTW. I have heard that Joan Bennet claimed that in a biography. Just like Hedy Lamarr claimed that she supposedly turned down the Scarlett role. lol
Finding the right music to complement the video can be a challenge. I've got hundreds of videos that I have music. For my latest video I chose a tune that I like and I knew I would get a copyright notice. I just had a two-year old video blocked my Studio Canal. The video clip had jazz television themes from the 50's & 60's. Too much! People are being shot up in this country right now and all they worry about is a 1950's theme from a short clip. Please check out my new video and vote.
Cmq adesso diventate proprio una rottura di palle... sto leggendo ed appare la pubblicit: Del Toscana... a parte che io la conosco benissimo... ma questa e' una feroce ottusita'

Thank you:) I'm glad you like the music.
Wow 102 and she's still wonderful!
She died in her early 50s
She was 54 when she passed. I figure she would have been 103 now in 2016 if she was still with us. Rest well, Miss Leigh.

Can't believe all the Monroe/Leigh comparisons, Marilyn was gorgeous but she wasn't a "natural" beauty like Vivien, Viv was stunning.
Yes
MY MOTHER MET VIVIEN LEIGH AFTER A SHOW AND THEY SPOKE SHE TOLD HER IF HER BABY WAS A LITTLE GIRL SHE WOULD CALL HER VIVIEN AND HERE I AM X.M
This music is proper for her? as she was not only lovely but also very active and energetic, therefore it is still unbelievable that she died, she seems to be still alive
Few of us get to live long in the hearts of millions. Can you imagine that? But bipolar disorder steals all of one's joy.

Była wspaniała w " Przeminelo z wiatrem "
AW, Happy Birthday Vivien!~ I made a birthday dedication for Vivien as well :)
I love Vivien I thought she was one of the best actresses and also the most attractive. Bad choice of music though! Why not something more gracious than some stupid pop celine dion song?
Just decided to watch this on a whim and it was beautiful! The ending was absolutely perfect and it made me tear up. :'( Wonderful job though!
This was wonderful. So she will be 100 next yr. I hope you will do an update.
❤❤❤❤
Very nice! Never seen this video before. Gonna do something for her 100th in November?
@FanofBewitched How can you not like ... go back over his years only to see her in person! fortunati quelli che le sono potuti stare accanto....Ciao dall italia!

I Disagree as an English lady I strongly object to plug a song with a British ICON .
@Charmedfan2010 Thank you:) Sorry it made you tear up a little. She is in a better place.

'seems like forever ago'. Are pinching lines from A Yank at Oxford?
Music too loud
Beautiful face but sorry the music spoilt it for me, didn't seem in keeping.
Ő IGAZI SZÉPSÉG VOLT,.... és óriási tehetség,.....
Her love interest, Ashley, in real life died shortly after in a plane crash.
Like the pictures; the modern music ruined it!
That's true. Marilyn had her nose changed. Plus she was not a natural blonde. :-)
Мисс витамин ,в, да, это в молодости, к пятидесяти годам красота вивьен стала печальной
Thanks:) I hope to. The thing I have trouble with is coming up with the music. After you make so many videos you begin to run out of songs to pick from lol. But I'm glad you liked this video:)
Are you american? Do not choose Icon 's if you can not come up with what they represent.
Sorry but the music should be a bit more classy in regards to this lady. Nothing contemporary.
Desde pekenina ,está gaja e encantadora.linda de morrer!
@kidman4ever Thank you. I'm glad you liked it:)

Hey Richard :) Glad you liked the video:) Yeah probably. My thing is though I have a hard time coming up with a song to use.

I watched again. I think that clip at :45 may be from "St. Martin's Lane".
