Our world is getting crasier by the day, and also more aggressive by the day, it is high time something drastically has to be done about this unacceptable behaviour.

Creepy routes are awesome but there must be shorter and safer alternatives. Make cars go the circuitous route instead
Police, MPs and councils are the real issue behind this, they have a soft approach towards motorist road rage...

Same here in our German city. Especially if you are blocked !on! the bikelane by a car and confront the motorist, it sometimes gets so bad. We live in a county where bicykle police chases and disciplinizes Cyclists and talks to motorists. Liebe Grüße
Bicycle police? Is that true??? I've also experienced a good deal of aggression when cycling in Germany, if anything it's the cars that should be called out by the police to respect the traffic rules.
@@CreRay absolutely. Sometimes its so dangerous. Yes its true we have bicykle police in many cities. I can not say if they have the same directives everywhere but here they are definitely focused on bikes that are not StVo and those who cross red lights for example.
Cars make people angry
problem is the Police do zip about it, even when you have footage of incidents it happens so often that they drop cases as they are inundated with so so many. It needs to be a shift of the mindset of the other road users, stop see cyclists as obstacles or hindrances to the progression of traffic. Harsh sentences or bans and on top of that invite the Insurance companies to sponsor a database of drivers who put others at risk, if they deem the driver is a significant risk they either put the insurance up or withdraw the insurance right then and there, imagine the call from the insurance to the policy holder, stating they have been suspended insurance pending a review - car/van/lorry off the road if they drive its criminal matter and prosecuted. It gets the message across - behave or you can't drive it. ~Trooper
This crap happens to us men as well. For daring to be on the road i get yelled at. My favorite is when they spout the old "you dont pay any road tax" line. They know damn well they dont either as it was abolished in 1937.
So many motorists are just awful.

Something that everyone faces, not women specifically.
Right? way to alienate people. I have personally faced road rage when a guy in a van sped up to cut me off crossing the road at a T junction where he is supposed to stop. He got out and wanted to throw down lol.. luckily I was the bigger person.

As a female cyclist you would be amazed at the terrible comments we get from other road users and it’s every time we go out. They REALLY hate cyclists!

That’s sadly what all cyclist get now…zero respect…shouting abuse…close passes to teach a lesson…pulling out on us….thats why i mostly mtb now out the way of the madness…🤨
Who cares what other people do, just because they aren't minding their own businesses doesn't mean you need to do the same. The anger is something within themselves, it really has nothing to do with you.

It's 2024, and we want to go green. Why aren't women safe on their bicycles?
These are examples of free women doing their lawful business. Why can't they simply ride their bicycles in peace? We become more American/more aggressive in the UK. I have noticed drivers willing to injure or kill, it is insane the behaviour on the roads. I had an Audi driver try to force me off the road and down a railway embankment. I'm disciplined/experienced, so held my line. He later stopped diagonally across the road to stop me about a mile down the road. Trying to get a reaction? I didn't oblige and simply drove on. Everyone deserves to use the road and be treated without violence. It disappoints me UK roads are now a bull pit. Something needs to change. More traffic cops and driver education courses would be a good start.
Its not just women --- men get the same level of aggression from car, van, bus and lorry drivers.

The thing is, most men have a natural advantage to physically look after themselves, if you feel like you might be attacked. It's a lot easier for a man to 'face down' abuse that is coming from another man.

Every Male Cyclist knows from personal experiance that we cop a lot Drivers too, I have had my share up to having stuff thrown at me from moving Cars, while I feel horrible for the girls copping it its not a gender issue so if they get victim points I want my share too.I Drive I Cycle and I Motorbike so no bias here.

9/10 men don't get the same level of abuse as women. They don't get slapped on the arse or shouted at for taking their kids to school.

Those are completely separate issues. Women do not automatically have more abuse or have things harder because they are women. Everyone suffers abuse, especially cyclists. This is not a gendered issue.

Agreed, but I think cyclists need to be more aware of the road and more considerate to other users. They don't have the stopping power of vehicles.

What about the rotten cyclists who come through red lights on a pedestrian crossing? I was nearly taken out by a speeding cyclist I was half way across when one who came flying through the red light and he had the audacity to call me a b*tch for being in his way! It happens all the time to pedestrians!!

Yes some people ride dangerously and yes everyone faces abuse, but there's elements to the abuse that women face that are particularly nasty. And women cycle less than men due to fear and danger - less than 1 in 3 cycle trips in London are made by women.
