  • Florida's homelessness crisis takes center stage in 2024. Florida consistently ranks in the top 3 states for homelessness. With estimates exceeding 130,000 people on any given day. Data from 2024 shows a significant jump. With a reported 19% increase in homelessness compared to 2019. This translates to a much higher number of people living unsheltered. Outdoors, or in precarious situations. The lack of affordable housing is a major culprit.

    I travel from Naples to Orlando regularly and live in SW FL. Homelessness is rising but doesn't look anything like what you're showing.

    Affordable housing initiatives should be the #1 priority in the U.S., not taking in illegal immigrants who are sucking up our resources.

    The wages and rent are so far from being compatible that this happens. It's not rocket science. Have a cap on rent!

    Where are these pictures taken? Their needs to be more specific information. The work begins with local governments, and not allowing the homeless to set up tents or camps wherever they please. There is help to get you back on your feet, but there is no free housing, free tax payer money, forever benefits, etc. There is rent reduced places, you must qualify for, like showing that you have a job. The young group mentioned 18-25 have no excuses. There are so many starting jobs, they could easily get 2. So far as affordable housing, you live within your means, and if you can't afford to live in FL you should move to areas that are a lot less to live, such as GA, SC, KY, etc. The demand to live in FL has caused rent to rise, its a common principle. Hard work, sacrifice, and the will to change your position in life is a personal responsibility for you and your family.

      Be grateful you've never had to experience homelessness. I just saw an interview with a homeless guy who admitted to having views like yourself. He became homeless due to a health issues and it was a rude awakening. This is a big, complex problem that takes more than reactiveness to understand. It is more than personal responsibility. In fact, attributing all homeless issues to that only causes you to not see the bigger picture.

    • @margilynn7157
      @margilynn7157 Před 2 měsíci

      Well, here's where your assumption is wrong. UnfoI was homeless 10 years ago, lived in my then 20 year old F150 single cab. The REASON I'm not any longer is due to the fact that I think personal responsibility is on you, including how to solve problems you encounter in life.

    • @margilynn7157
      @margilynn7157 Před 2 měsíci

      Made a typo, Unfol should be "unforseen circumstance" caused my situation. I had to hunker down and worked 3 jobs to get back on my feet, as I realized the current situation was untenable. I was 55 when this happened, so save the accusations when you don't know why I believe in personal responsibility, or why it works. It is the single most important aspect of life and the lack of that understanding is the main reason for most problems in the world. Free this and that has caused numerous disasters and false expectations, causing dependency, laziness and entitlement.

    When you have many people in your country that are starving. This erodes your face value of your currency. The rich may not be taxed equally, but not providing for your neighbor will eventually hurt you financially.

    I live in psl Florida we have around 10-20 homeless people out and about during the days I not saying we don’t have some homeless people but your video 100% shows footage from different states, only two license plates where from Florida, some footage I seen where from Oakland California like where you seen shacks made of plywood. There’s many people for example in oakeechobee Florida who live in the woods and live off the land with minimal outside interference. Your message was good but the footage was misleading

      The number of homeless people in America has increased steadily in recent years, and there is no sign of a reversal. In a country as wealthy as America, there is no excuse for people to be living on the streets.
