  • Here's how to use Oxygen with Elementor (or pretty much any other page builder). Use Oxygen to build your "theme" and then the page builder to control some or all of your site pages' inner content.

    Very cool, and I definitely see this would work well with Beaver Builder then too.

    So Oxygen is a theme builder.
    The problem I have is that you have to manually enter the PHP code in order to create a content section so that you can create content with Elementor.
    Can't this be made easier for a beginner just like you have prebuilt sections? Perhaps prebuilt content sections for use with page builders?
    Otherwise, Oxygen seems more a hardcore coder's tool than an enabling tool like Elementor that more people can use.

      This comment's quite old, but for new readers: Oxygen does not build themes in the WordPress sense. Theme files are not read/used. It creates the code that implements the site. And does so VERY efficiently compared with page builders.

    I would like to better understand how you style menus with Oxygen - can you build a mega menu?

    Hi, just wondering if I can go to my elementor and astra theme install and then add the oxygen plugin, refresh and then uninstall eleementor and astra. Will the site still be there in all its glory?

    What would happen if one page is already built on base of one theme, so the header and the footer are from the theme and the content is built with Elementor. What would happen if I install Oxygen? Would it override everything? Or just those parts (header & footer) which belong to the theme? Namely, I would like to change just those 2 elements, since they are not customizable enough ...

      Oxygen replaces the need for theme files, so you would re-create that header and footer in Oxygen, and use the "Inner Content" element for the Elementor-created content. The video explains the procedure.

    Louis what themes are you using with Oxygen in any of the video tutorials you have on YT?

      Oxygen is and installs as theme in WordPress. Page builder(s) are plug- ins.

    you add code rather than using the « content » wordpress element. Is it because it is an older version of oxygen ?

    Does oxygen play well with most Wordpress plugins?

    • @SBinVancouver
      @SBinVancouver Před 5 lety

      Most. In general, if the plugin creates content and provides shortcodes, Oxygen can incorporate their output. The exceptions would be plugins that alter themes in some way, since Oxygen replaces the active theme.

    Why would you use Elementor when Oxygen does all of that already?

      Elementor generates REALLY bloated code, but if the designer has implemented a site with it, and is moving to Oxygen, they need to use both for a while.
