What is that pass on the top-right at 0:57 called? The colourful one?
Abdul Kader That's the 'Velocity' pass. That's used to determine the direction and strength of the motion blur!
wooaahhh okay, I had no idea you could do that. how would Velocity be read in AE? is there a plug in required?
I'm a student in multimedia college and to be honest I think i'm missing out alot on compositing and 3D rendering techniques :(
Abdul Kader As far as I know After Effects has no way to interpret the velocity pass. However there is a very cheap plugin (about £50) for AE called ReelSmart Motion Blur which is what I use to add the motion blur from the velocity pass.
It's not essential you can always do motion blur "in-camera" but it's usually slower and then it's 'fixed' so you'd require a re-render to make any changes.
I like to try and make my renders as clean as possible, so they're much more flexible in the compositing stage.
Hope this helps
Looks like the 2013 FOX logo. How?
link please I want to import it to blender 2.79 to make my remake and it will include the crossover tcf
