I've always loved the hypocrisy of people viewing oral sex as an act of submission on the givers behalf but it really couldn't be more different, the receiver is literally trusting this person enough to let them put the most sensitive part of their body between their teeth.
Somehow hozier captured the mutual power that comes from giving oral sex in a loving and raw way.

I visited Ireland because of him and let me tell you it was totally worth it. It was so, so much better than expected. I saw the video of NFWMB and I fell in love with Killruddery house so I thought that I need to go there and see it in person. About three months later I visited Ireland with my mother and we've seen a lot of the country but we're still far away from enough. We didn't go to Killruddery house, even though it was (together with Ireland's stunning nature) the reason for this trip. But that only gives me one more reason to return to this absolutely beautiful country.
Now I even plan to study in Ireland and let me tell you, nothing would make me happier than studying there.
I love Ireland as much as I love Hozier's music.
If there's two things that I would recommend everybody to do is to go to a Hoziers concert and to travel to Ireland if you get the chance. Both are incredible and incomparable experiences that are definitely worth it and create memories and feelings you won't ever forget in your life.

Hozier's direct analysisof his songs really enlightens the listener's; while comparing and contrasting our interpretations against his. How "Well-Rounded" can an Artist be, when they engage, entertain, teach, and seduce their listener's through video, song, and concert. Hozier is much too young to be this skilled, gifted, intelligent, and charismatic. He figured everything out "before" age 30 (This year 2020); while Other Artist/Musician/Entertainer's take full, extended careers and lifetimes to figure out. I am really hoping that he gets rewarded with a few Grammy's for his phenomenal music and hard work. His youth allowed him to tour a whole year and six months of exhaustive venues; but remain stellar in his performance and craft. His bandmates are equally talented. I truly hope to attend one of his concerts during his next tour. Keep up the fantastic work Andrew💞.

i thought that line was about how he was only sleeping with her because the church was sort of forcing him to or else we wouldn’t have been accepted (because the song is about gay love and religion and such) and how she was feeding him “lies” while they’re together intimately. There’s a line, “my church offers no absolutes she tells me ‘worship in the bedroom’” so that was my interpretation I guess.

@@alexandriaking8544 I doubt it. I'm pretty sure Hozier's said he's straight. Take me to church is about the church's oppressive views on sex and sexuality in general. It focuses on gay people in some ways but it's not just about sexual orientation.
The 'worship in the bedroom' line is probably about the church being a shaming and controlling force and Hozier views having sex as better, a break from that. Additionally, that line equates sex and the woman he loves to praying/worshipping and god. The idea of worshipping in the bedroom is not part of the church, but rather a replacement and a counter to the church.
You have an interesting theory but I don't agree.

I really like what he say about genius and how he never would determinate the meaning of his songs. It’s really important to absorb art and be capable of find a meaning witch fits us . In my opinion it’s all about this.( at the same time I really love when Hozier talk about his songs and express more clearly his feelings 💓, please don’t stop )

Chills...a foreplay by reflective ideation-it picks you up, wherever you stand, on the topography of sexual power dynamics, and moves you to a much richer part of the land. I guess this is true of all that he creates. He refers to it as subversion of expectations, but that’s very humble for the actual soul-enrichment he gives to the open observer. His music calls to mind, for me at least, “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven”
