    Having served in Iraq and Afghanistan I cam attest to there being mud. On several occasions there were sandstorms mixed with thunderstorms were it literally rained mud creating a lot of muddy streaking on vehicles and buildings. That’s a really nice weathering job! I greatly enjoy the channel!

      Thank you for your service. I was actually surprised by the reference books when I saw how muddy everything looked! Thanks for commenting and watching!

    Что сказать? Маэстро, маэстро моделизма. Приятно смотреть, когда человек делает красиво. Смотреть и учится... Спасибо за интересное видео, шикарная работа...

    Really inspired to finish the weathering on the two Tamiya M-1s I built.

    I've only recently discovered your channel, I really like what you are doing! I just subbed I really can't understand how CZcams (Google) decides what ends up in my feed. I watch many model building/painting type videos I can't understand how your channel wasn't recommended to me sooner. The first video of yours that I watched was the scratch build of the bombed out Carentan house, since then I've watched a few of your other videos, they are all quite good so far! Keep up the excellent work.

      Thank so much! I also don't understand how CZcams recommends videos but I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing! Thank you so much for watching and for the sub.

    Great brush chipping, your confidence shows. If possible it would be awesome to see the reference photos. Super video once again.

    Never done a tank model, but in aircraft models, I would paint the dials in the cockpit and put a thick-ish drop of varnish on top to make it look like glass. Worked pretty good!

      That's a great call! I've seen other modelers use UV resin to do things like headlights and stuff for the same kind of effect.

    I have watched your video on the M1A1 tank build a few times. It really looks awesome at the end. I just finished building my tank and have it all primed, going to try you painting techniques to see how it goes.
    The only difference with mine is I built it like my M1A1 tank that I was on during the Gulf War in 1991.
    One other question I am having some issues finding some of those paints you used. Any suggestions on where I can find them?

    • @mattockmodels
      @mattockmodels  Před rokem +1

      That's awesome! thanks for watching and good luck with your painting. Unfortunately the Wilder line has been discontinued as far as I know. However I have switched over to using oils to create similar effects just with slightly more drying time. So if you have the time to wait that's what I would recommend.

    Really, really beautiful work, I really mean that.... BUT THOSE SEAMS! OY VEY! LOL.....at 5:28, there's a good shot of the rear hull plate & rear side hull GAP, which should be SOLID.....
    That's just to big a no-no for me to ignore comment on..... But only AFTER I praise the work overall.... the scratches, chipping, and mud effects are AMPS-worthy!....good job!....

      I base coated the glass in chrome from alclad then coated with fuegan orange shade paint from citadel. Hope that helps, thanks for watching. good luck on your build!

    Would it be possible to get a list of the paints, filters and washes you used?

    • @mattockmodels
      @mattockmodels  Před rokem +1

      After base coat. Orange filter for desert camo, then oil pin wash and shading. Black brown for the chips. Then acrylic mud paste from ak terrains "muddy ground'. Followed by streaking grime for the stains. After that, white oils for mapping and ak light mud for dust streaks. Hope that helps!
