I've always loved playing this solo on the piccolo. People don't understand just how difficult it is to play the piccolo, let alone the most iconic piccolo solo of all time!
Ah the piccosolo. As soon as it starts all attention is on the soloist and the pressure is on not to screw it up and give that 13 year old boy in the audience an excuse to heckle you.
When I was a junior in high school, my band played this. We had JUST gotten back from online school cuz of Covid, so obviously our playing skills were… not as sharp as they could have been. I was very new to playing piccolo, and I was told to play this by myself one time because no other flute was there. I always messed it up constantly. But I remember the one time I played it PERFECTLY… I’ve never seen my band director so proud of me, and it was the greatest moment that I’m forever going to cherish
Great job!!! I always LOVED playing this on my piccolo in band- it always made the people listening go absolutely WILD with patriotic hoots and hollers.
When I was a child, my mom would play Stars And Stripes whenever it was time for us to clean the house. It's really hard to NOT start cleaning right now! Also, very well played! ❤
OMG i just played this today and i was vibrating in place i was shaking so bad😨😨😨 it's ok tho we slayed anyway, even though we were going way faster than the recording, i got the music 4 days before the concert, and didn't play the piccolo in 5 months over the summer
Alguien me puede enviar la partitura de esta marcha para flauta y flautin por favor.. me encanta esta marcha pero no he conseguido la partitura. Tocó flauta y quiero está marcha
I know that this is hard but imagine Any of the other players in the background messing up which makes them look really bad and messing you up which is so scary. Like trombone trumpet clarinet whatever is playing I think it's trumpet. Fr
@@Tylers_tag_gt…. u can’t be serious right?? the key pads are made of metal and are supposed to be kept really shiny. the stage lights are reflecting the shape of the keys
As a former piccolo/flute player, this was hands-down THE most thrilling piece of music I ever had the honour to play.
Absolutely magical.
Don’t you mean the most _trilling_ piece
Using the British English spelling of honor while talking about Stars and Stripes forever 🤔

This is what we’re playing for Christmas. It’s a little challenging but super fun :)
Thank you! ❤️🤍💙 Love the grin at the end.
Very well done!
Nice cut time & technique, I still play it 19 years later & even play with my old tapes from the Army band. #ItsAboutThatTechnique&BreathSupport!

wait are you doing it in cut time
Yes the piece is in cut time
'have🦻heard that it takes more lung-power for a flute or piccolo than a tuba or bass horn. Any Yeas or Nays?

You can look it up on Google and get a pdf of it

And the Conductor probably thought it sounded good all because of him/her lol
waaaaait, thats what a piccolo sounds like?... no wonder the balls are inert
