BICEPS Participative workshops

BICEPS stands for Biochar Integration in small-holder Cropping systems - Economy, food, Product value chains, climate change resilience and Soil fertility. This project is funded under the European ERA-Net Cofund on Systems and Climate.
One important objective of the BICEPS research project is to demonstrate the interest of the biochar technology and exchange knowledge with farmers. To that aim, farmers are gathered at participative workshops where the interest of biochar in tropical agriculture is explained, and a method for producing large quantities of biochar out of any dry feedstock and at a low cost is proposed. In addition, the farmers are invited to discuss BICEPS' experimental plan and follow up the results of crop yields in their region and elsewhere in Africa.
