- Meet Natie Booysen and his monster 2jz Toyota Cressida. This car started off as a modest family vehicle which he then bought from his father to turn it into the beast it is today. Natie started racing his Cressida competitively and is currently doing a 10.2 second quarter mile with an exit speed of 229 kph. He dreams of getting into the 9’s. This is his story.

When you see headlights swapped out for air intake, you should know not to mess with that car 🔥
There are a TON of cars in my city that have their head light removed for "cold" air intake and they run 15 sec 1/4 miles ...
What you should be concerned about are the TIRES. FAST cars need traction, traction requires TIRES.
When you see a car with tires like that .. think twice about messing with it.

You must fit a Landcruiser bonnet as well, with the cold air intake on it.
Then you can have both headlamps.

I wonder if the alcantara on the dash stops the front glass from fogging up. My dad had a 2.8i Cressida in the 80's & every time it rained you could see sweet eff all out of the f screen.

Impressive mate!! I'm from nz I've earlier spent 8yrs in the exhaust trade hand buildt from scratch, sheet metal to hand over to the fitters reason why I mention that as I can hear a well put together engine and by the sound of it you know know what's good to. Always ify on engine management so Def appreciate the tip.all the best with rest my friend

This reminds me of the Cressida that Mighty Car Mods made a few years back. They did a much more extensive makeover and I believe it ran low 9s. You HAVE to check it out

I had 2 Cressida's, a 1985 that was Jade Green on the sides with a black hood, trunk & roof (came factory like that!) & A 1989 Maroon Station Wagon that was my sleeper car, single turbo, & as much TRD goodies I could fit on it, the stock Technics stereo system was worth about $3k, it was so good for the time people were targeting it fit the STOCK SYSTEM! 😂💯

Well I learned a few things.
I should check out what seats Sabelt has (Recaro is very expensive and not something you buy off the shelf).
Learned about the MoTec engine management unit. (I thought it was a Haltech unit, before he said what it was).

I like the 2JZ 3000cc engine. Because the engine is beautiful and simple. But its power is threatening😍😍
