Peter is the most realis person that has ever been on this show. His plan probably was to get to know Rachel outside of the show for a few months than propose and get married, their is nothing wrong with that.

She did say he reminded her of her 5 year relationship. She said she had dated many Peters. She is clearly crying for all those past experiences as well. Not just this one. He also got emotional talking about his ex at one of the dates and how he felt he held back from loving her fully. He’s clearly realising he hadn’t changed much and is again letting a good girl go. They’re both not just crying for this particular loss but all other loses in the past and possibly future ones (in Peter’s sake). I personally feel she chose the right guy. Bryan loves her, and she loves him. Despite being drawn to “the Peters”.

Wow, looking back at this 3 years later and I'm so happy Rachael chose Bryan. She made the smart choice. Peter may have loved her but he wasn't ready for commitment. When a man really loves you he won't waste time to grab you for himself. The people that were mad at Rachael for not choosing Peter were a bunch of little immature girls who have no clue what it's like looking for love in their 30s. That was hands down the worst line of the season. I saw her in such a different light after she said that. And I LOVED her and supported her up until then. I still think she's badass, but she really didn't even acknowledge her fiancé, just the ring. Yep, sounds like love to me. *Eye roll*. Won't last. Brian will wise up and see through it. He's 37 years old and no fool I'm sure. I actually feel bad for him. Even in interviews she never talks about him or how amazing he is...she just shows off her ring and says "call me your fiancé". I'd have to disagree. I was not in support of her in the beginning of the show, because I felt as if Raven should've gotten the spot. As Rachel's season progressed I began to lighten up about the idea of her being the Bachelorette. I could see how the line "Gimme that ring." would be a turn off for most. Yet, the way that I see it is more as a witty statement. She clearly acknowledged her fiance. I don't know if she is in love with Bryan, but I could definitely say that in that particular incident that she was just extremely excited to become his fiance. A ring is just a symbol of that love, and she was excited to wear it! Also, I don't know what interview you are talking about, but when I've watched the interviews with her talking about Bryan she does nothing but gushes over him... Please, send me the link or name of video so I can check out what you're talking about. I don't like that she chose Bryan, but since she did I know that it's because she already has very strong feelings for him!

I was team Peter the whole season. This scene always made me emotional. I always thought she made the wrong decision. Now that I am older and looking back at this, she made the right decision with Bryan. No doubt her and Peter loved each other. You can't tell me they didn't love each other. But Peter wasn't ready. They were on different pages. I think Peter is still single, living the bachelor life. Atleast he was the last time I was on his page. If she had chose him, I doubt they would be together. This reminds me of that young love. That first love that you never forget but you know it wasn't right for you. Its not that forever. I thought she gave up on him, but he let her go. I always knew she settled for Bryan. If Peter wanted marriage he would’ve been her choice, hands down. They had so much more chemistry, and her family preferred him over Bryan. I remember him getting up in the middle of a converstion as Rachel’s sister was grilling him, and he couldn’t handle it. And if you watch the first episode, Bryan seemed so inauthentic; making out every second rather than having a real conversation with her, and using his sex appeal as leverage. He was an opportunist and him asking for spousal support confirms that; a trophy husband. Maybe they grew to have real love for each other when they got married, but that relationship was doomed from the start. I was never a fan of his. I really like Rachel though, I wish her the best moving forward.

She put herself out there for a reason. And he couldn't deliver. I could see Peter with tremendous stiff-neckedness forcing her to change little bits of herself, her dreams, settling for the mediocre life.... because yes, what he offered was mediocre in her book. This break up was definitely longer than what we are seeing. After they kiss the first time and before he says I love you Rachel there is editing there. Yup was probably a lot of tears that probably was too much to be shown.

There's no way you can date 20+ men in a few months and not come out with feelings for more than one person. I think she loved them both but Peter was easier on the eye and had her tooth gap... But in the end, there's nothing more scary than being with a man who doesn't know what he wants. You have to be on your toes the whole time... Its not a good feeling. I was so sad about this and was upset at Rachel when I saw this but as I get older I finally understand where she’s coming from. She made her intentions clear from the start and didn’t want to settle for any less. As much as I loved Peter what he could give was not enough. She definitely made the right decision and I’m so glad that she and Bryan are still married, happy, and together to this day.
Y'all gotta understand Peter, he is not one to make permanent life long decisions based on an emotional/physical based tv show alone. Maybe he wanted to try the bachelorette to see if it were possible. But he is not able to, especially when he saw with his own eyes how attached Rachel was to the show, and to someone like Brian who comes off as fake, is from Miami (the city of fake), and likes to be on reality tv shows. Although he loved her to death, he still saw right through her. He was hoping she would understand him and give him a chance based on a real-world perspective. He may have even changed his mind and proposed had she shown that she was in it for love and not just a tv show/ring, but she wanted to live the bachelorette fairy tale dream and win that ring. He even told her, "TAKE A CHANCE" he even said "You know where to find me if you change your mind" he was giving her ALL kinds of chance to take a risk with him. He made up his mind that he wasn't going to take a risk without her taking a risk. Was it worth it in the end? Only time will tell. Peter understands that there is more to love than a ring and a show. He wanted forever with her even if it meant sacrificing what he believed in because he said he would propose if that meant she would stay with him even though it goes against his belief in perfect timing(aka dump Bryan). But she wasn't willing to sacrifice why she came on the show which was for a guaranteed proposal/ring above all else.

Let me start off by saying that I like Rachel. However, I think it's pretty clear to everyone that she chose the ring over true love. If Peter didn't have those reservations and told her he would propose then she would have picked him in a heartbeat. She settled for Bryan. She told it like it was and she didn't hold back despite the extra challenges she had being a first... Here is the deal... she wanted someone who felt the same way she did about the important stuff (like marriage). Clearly he didn't feel the same way about something she felt strongly about which is why she let him go...they would have been miserable together. If it was just about marriage she would have said "yes" when he said "fine I'll marry you to make you happy" ... but she didn't. Because she knew in her heart that's not what he wanted. Loving someone is knowing when to let them go. She loved him but knew they weren't the right fit....which is why she let him go. She wanted someone who knew what he wanted...and felt the same way she felt about her dealbreakers and Peter wasn't that person...and on top of that, he was immature when it mattered... "go have a mediocre life, because I would have given you the best life" That was fucked up. No where in this breakup was Rachel rude... however he showed his try colors... 1. When he said "fine I'll marry you to make you happy" WTF. Do not do me any favors, I can find someone who actually wants to marry me! 2. When he said " go have a mediocre life... " who wishes that on someone they love and wanted to share the rest of their life with? No one says that to someone they love, even if that person breaks up with them. He also got emotional talking about his ex at one of the dates and how he felt he held back from loving her fully. He’s clearly realising he hadn’t changed much and is again letting a good girl go. They’re both not just crying for this particular loss but all other loses in the past and possibly future ones (in Peter’s sake). I personally feel she chose the right guy. Wow, looking back at this 3 years later and I'm so happy Rachael chose Bryan. She made the smart choice. Peter may have loved her but he wasn't ready for commitment. When a man really loves you he won't waste time to grab you for himself. That was hands down the worst line of the season. I saw her in such a different light after she said that. And I LOVED her and supported her up until then. I still think she's badass, but she really didn't even acknowledge her fiancé, just the ring. Yep, sounds like love to me. *Eye roll*. Won't last. Brian will wise up and see through it. He's 37 years old and no fool I'm sure. I actually feel bad for him. Even in interviews she never talks about him or how amazing he is...she just shows off her ring and says "call me your fiancé". I'd have to disagree. I was not in support of her in the beginning of the show, because I felt as if Raven should've gotten the spot. As Rachel's season progressed I began to lighten up about the idea of her being the Bachelorette. I could see how the line "Gimme that ring." would be a turn off for most. Yet, the way that I see it is more as a witty statement. She clearly acknowledged her fiance. I don't know if she is in love with Bryan, but I could definitely say that in that particular incident that she was just extremely excited to become his fiance. A ring is just a symbol of that love, and she was excited to wear it! Also, I don't know what interview you are talking about, but when I've watched the interviews with her talking about Bryan she does nothing but gushes over him... I always knew she settled for Bryan. If Peter wanted marriage he would’ve been her choice, hands down. They had so much more chemistry, and her family preferred him over Bryan. I remember him getting up in the middle of a converstion as Rachel’s sister was grilling him, and he couldn’t handle it. And if you watch the first episode, Bryan seemed so inauthentic; making out every second rather than having a real conversation with her, and using his sex appeal as leverage. He was an opportunist and him asking for spousal support confirms that; a trophy husband. Maybe they grew to have real love for each other when they got married, but that relationship was doomed from the start. I was never a fan of his. I really like Rachel though, I wish her the best moving forward.

I was so sad about this and was upset at Rachel when I saw this but as I get older I finally understand where she’s coming from. She made her intentions clear from the start and didn’t want to settle for any less. As much as I loved Peter what he could give was not enough. She definitely made the right decision and I’m so glad that she and Bryan are still married, happy, and together to this day.
Y'all gotta understand Peter, he is not one to make permanent life long decisions based on an emotional/physical based tv show alone. Maybe he wanted to try the bachelorette to see if it were possible. But he is not able to, especially when he saw with his own eyes how attached Rachel was to the show, and to someone like Brian who comes off as fake, is from Miami (the city of fake), and likes to be on reality tv shows. Although he loved her to death, he still saw right through her. He was hoping she would understand him and give him a chance based on a real-world perspective. He may have even changed his mind and proposed had she shown that she was in it for love and not just a tv show/ring, but she wanted to live the bachelorette fairy tale dream and win that ring. He even told her, "TAKE A CHANCE" he even said "You know where to find me if you change your mind" he was giving her ALL kinds of chance to take a risk with him. He made up his mind that he wasn't going to take a risk without her taking a risk. Was it worth it in the end? Only time will tell. Peter understands that there is more to love than a ring and a show. He wanted forever with her even if it meant sacrificing what he believed in because he said he would propose if that meant she would stay with him even though it goes against his belief in perfect timing(aka dump Bryan). But she wasn't willing to sacrifice why she came on the show which was for a guaranteed proposal/ring above all else.

I remember watching this and truly wanting her to pick Peter. They had such great chemistry and clearly cared for each other. I don’t think there is right or wrong here. Just two people with incompatible views on how to approach love. I’m happy that Rachel found what she was looking for, and I hope Peter finds the same.
After watching this again I am certain Rachel is not keeping it 💯 In all of these interviews. No one cries like that over someone they did not love. It's actually heartbreaking 😩 I know she wanted to be engaged and it's possible things may not have worked out with Peter, but I wish she just would've gave herself more time.

I agree with you 100% She definitely wanted Peter. If she was sure she wanted to be she with B she would've let Peter go before this date. She keeps saying she wanted "seeing it through". If she knew it was gonna be Bryan why did she want Peter to commit to proposing the next day? I love Rachel but she is not being truthful about this.

I see Peter's point. It's only been 2 months and that too in a fantasy type of setting. If it were only 2 months in a normal life setting, then maybe he could be ready to propose, but he's not sure what life would look like with her in the real world and he needed time to explore that. It doesn't mean his feelings for her are less. I feel like she chose Bryan just to get a proposal.
This scene was beautifully tragic, but I guess everything happens for a reason. Wishing them both the best in everything.
see i remember watching this wanting her to pick peter and this scene was hella hard for me to watch lol. however.... he knew that at the end of the show is an engagement. the bachelor/bachelorette is looking for a husband/wife. and all he could settle for was a girlfriend?? that is very shady to me. if he wasn’t sure about marrying rachel he should’ve left

From her first interaction with Bryan, it was clear that he was the one for Rachel. Anyone coming with this bullshit that she “chose the ring over true love” or anything similar is dumb. She had more with Bryan in my opinion and just because it was hard to let Peter go, that doesn’t mean she felt more for him. At the end of the day, him not knowing what he wanted at that point doesn’t mean like some of you are saying that in a bit after the show ended he’d propose. She went with her gut and I’m glad. Her and Bryan are better together than her and Peter ever were or ever would be. Also the fact that her and Bryan are still together proves it is something real while who knows if her and Peter would even still be dating let alone engaged at this point.

Let me start off by saying that I like Rachel. However, I think it's pretty clear to everyone that she chose the ring over true love. If Peter didn't have those reservations and told her he would propose then she would have picked him in a heartbeat. She settled for Bryan. Why would you beg someone for a proposal if you were never going to pick them in the first place? It doesn't make sense. I find it hard to believe that if it were Bryan who said he wasn't going to propose instead of Peter, she would not have begged him in the same way because it was Peter she wanted from the beginning.

Okay this is what I have to say...
This was the realest and most emotional break up because this was the realest bachelorette we had. She told it like it was and she didn't hold back despite the extra challenges she had being a first...
Here is the deal... she wanted someone who felt the same way she did about the important stuff (like marriage). Clearly he didn't feel the same way about something she felt strongly about which is why she let him go...they would have been miserable together.
If it was just about marriage she would have said "yes" when he said "fine I'll marry you to make you happy" ... but she didn't. Because she knew in her heart that's not what he wanted.
Loving someone is knowing when to let them go. She loved him but knew they weren't the right fit....which is why she let him go. She wanted someone who knew what he wanted...and felt the same way she felt about her dealbreakers and Peter wasn't that person...and on top of that, he was immature when it mattered... "go have a mediocre life, because I would have given you the best life"
That was fucked up. No where in this breakup was Rachel rude... however he showed his try colors...
1. When he said "fine I'll marry you to make you happy" WTF. Do not do me any favors, I can find someone who actually wants to marry me!
2. When he said " go have a mediocre life... " who wishes that on someone they love and wanted to share the rest of their life with? No one says that to someone they love, even if that person breaks up with them.
I was so happy Peter wasn't the batchelor. Rachel is right, this process isn't right for him...at the end of the day this is what...the 24th plus season in the franchise...you know what is expected after 8 weeks and if you don't think you can do that, then this isn't right for you...
Nothing wrong with that....most people need more time....but and most of those people don't put themselves in a situation that puts that pressure on them if they know they can't deliver.. Peter should have been one of those people to leave it alone.... don't sign a check you know your ass can't cash!

Women often fail to execute. We fail to make the best decisions for ourselves. I understand where she is coming from and i feel like she made the best decision for herself. A man has to love you ten times more to be able to remotely reciprocate the love you so naturally have. I love peter to death and I would have most probably chosen him but she made a very brave and good decision.
