Bodhisattva Avalokitisvara is also known as Bodhisattva Kwan Yin to Chinese people. Very compassionate. Literally saved me from a deadly fall, when I was around 5 yrs old. Also gave me a mantra, told me to chant, which cured my depression. On my home altar I have a blessed statue of Bodhisattva kwan Yin and Gautama Buddha.
Every morning I chant the mantra in mandarin. Very peaceful and harmonious family are the results.

I totally agree that all gods which supposedly prescribe behaviors are man made. Perhaps traces of the rules imposed by the kings on their subjects.

We find our true self and our oneness with God when we humble ourselves and submit out will to God’s will that Buddha, Moses and Jesus teaches. If you want to really understand the Torah go to Chabad.org and you find amazing teaching and is so much like the Buddha’s teaching, yes difference cultural slant and language but the same truths are amazingly there. I believe Moses, Buddha and Jesus besides being great friends are One - God’s messengers to the world.

I found Tinna just a couple of days ago. Can't stop listening to her chants ever since.. It's that mix of inner and outer beauty, brought to perfection with the way her special voice sounds, that makes her absolutely unique. I just found this chant yesterday and intend to start my mornings with it going forward. Very beautiful presentation and totally rhythmic chanting. This will surely get one’s mind flowing. A great warmup for sitting meditation. I can listen to this chant for repeated listens without getting restless and wanting to dive into activity. The presenter Tinna looks very serene and happy. @Sahara Echo Moths aren't round and translucent. Anyway, orbs are well known to be spirits, even I have seen orbs in videos taken by myself. You probably can't see with naked eyes, but interestingly cameras can capture easily. Sometimes many orbs show up in a video, not just one. It means the presence of multiple spirits.

Part of "Vyuhara Jara" must be "Vyuha Rajaya" Vyuha mean magnificerice, splendor, as well as supernatural qualities. Raja mean King. And the end "Ya" mean respectful way to call the name of Buddha Bodhisattva. In this mantra we praises Vairocana as King of all magnificerice, splendor, and supernatural qualities. Anyway.. i love all of your chanting and thank you very much to bring us the beauty of Dharma, lighten our life 🙏

Practice slow at first. I did that with the Gayatri Mantra. Though this one is longer. You will get there.
Feel yourself and connect yourself with mantras and sutras. You'll find one which you have more feelings with, and just keep practice your one and only sutra or mantra. All mantras and sutras have same compassion, strength and love, so don't worry.❤️🙏
Don't worry Joe, you are where you are at for good reasons. You've worked your way up to learning the mantra and realizing that there is much more to learn. Perhaps it would be helpful to understand the meaning of what you are chanting before trying to 'challenge' yourself to longer mantras/ sutras/ dharanis. After all, there is no better or lesser. Every mantra has an origin and has a meaning. Perhaps understanding what it means would help you memorize too.

Nevertheless, I can assure you that Avelokiteshvara is a very old and respected Buddhist saint of compassion, and not a New Age fad. I hope that whatever suffering you are experiencing will continue to diminish and that you can find peace within your self and your community. Remember that God does not encourage a spirit of fear or condemnation, but rather faith in abiding love for one another and compassion for all beings. I pray that wherever you are, you are able to experience that love and acceptance in this lifetime. 🙏🏼

I am glad that you have a strong foundation and I'm sure that you are meaning well, it's just that our well-meaning motives can be easily overshadowed and misconstrued if we do not employ skillful means in relating them to others. I am sure you will see this, especially over the internet. As an aside, I would encourage you to learn deeply about the ancient mystical Judaism which the Christian faith is solidly founded upon. It's actually quite beautiful and a testament to the amazing ability and mercy of God to see how much it actually has in common with other traditions. Remember that God meets us all where we are at and does not leave anyone behind. Learning Sanskrit and Hebrew (along with the many invaluable lessons from Buddhism) have actually expanded my faith and understanding of how to live in accordance with God's word, but I also have a Catholic understanding that doesn't exclude the idea of asking saints and angels to pray for us, so I'm sure that might be easier from that perspective.
I hope that you continue to be well, that you remain strong in your faith but soft in your heart, and that your kind intentions are not lost in relating them to others. Jesus certainly did condemn certain religious practices, but his most important commandment was to love one another. If you are open to reading any gnostic texts, I would recommend giving the gospel of Thomas a read- it's a fascinating story of Jesus' (known as Isha in India) journey to the east and how he spent many years studying and teaching (and yes- even condemning idolatry) before returning to Palestine at age 30. Thank heavens that God is not limited to our human understanding! 🙏🏼
