I like your instructional video. You give a lot of value. However it is hard to estimate the capabilities of your Obsidian Setup, if you are new to the topic. Problem is this: Anyone can label it as a "Student Vault", yet no one will know what it actually can do. I think it would be beneficial if you would showcase how your vault actually works and what it is capable of by demonstrating it's standard workflow. With a small teaser like this in the beginning of the video, you could retain more viewers and promote your setup better. (And I would better know which of your Vaults to build lol)
Viewer retention is good for this video. I agree workflow can be helpful. Workflows change and so I avoid showing them in videos on CZcams as they become outdate quickly. Features stay the same 😁

If nothing else, multiple main headings on a page confuses the hell out of the search engine crawlers, and dings your SEO rankings (Google recommends an H1 for your page title/content heading; your H1 is effectively telling Google, “Here’s what my page is about.”

Very nice job!!! Imagine you have lots of notes with a defined template that uses a specific Class, and you need to update the Class with a new Field. Do we have to update manually each note or is there an option to update all the Notes at once so that they can have the new field?
When you say update. if you mean to add the field so it is on the page, then it needs to be manual. But if you mean update as in have the option to update. that is automatic.

This looks like SO much work which you need to commit before you even start studying... Is it possible to go with a more "organic" way with obsidian, i.e. start with something small and simple and then grow as you go? Or do you really need to think all that structure beforehand?
Hi Danny, thank you for your awesome contents. Zotero integration used to work properly, but now when I want to import annotations the following error pops up: "Error retrieving item data: keyscope is global, do not provide a library ID.” Is there any way to fix this? Thanks a bunch
Great stuff Danny. Would you consider selling templates individually rather than in packs? I would like just this student vault but don't want to pay £99 for all the others that i might not use. Cheers!

@@DannyHatcherTech honestly so happy i came across this channel! has been such a blessing with my switch to obsidian for studying. it's so seamless that i’m using it for non-academic things (e.g. hobbies, shopping lists & reminders) may have came across it but Leonardo Castorina did a post on academic writing in obsidian using pandoc and zotero which i found kinda cool! kinda similar to what you were doing at the end definitely gonna take a look into your videos on zotero because i definitely want to try and get comfortable annotating sources in zotero ! wrote a lot but thank you, your videos have been really helpful and fun to watch
I gotta a little bit of tricky question, is there any way to add a hotkey for a command made in Commander? I wanna make it easier to access, you know moving the cursor up to the corner is kinda boring =))
Thanks! Great video. It's going to totally overwhelm any obsidian newbie, though. But I do love the information density. Moreover, I learned that "Quickadd: Run Quickadd" exists. Previously, I made 5 different buttons in commander, one for each of my templates 🙂
Dear Danny, I appreciate your videos; thank you for being so brilliant and generous. This video and the walkthrough were outstanding, but I am still struggling to run the "Pandoc" (on macOS: I keep getting this error "pandoc: bibliography: with BinaryFile: does not exist (No such file or directory)"). I just tried to use the Pandoc Plugin, which works fine, but I wanted to know if there is a reason behind not mentioning the plugin. 🌹
I dont use the plugin for a couple reasons: It has lots of small bugs for me. I need to format my command different. I like the control I get writing my own command. The lua filter I am working on doesnt play well with the plugin. But honestly, I know the command works so I don't try and fix something that isnt broken 😁
I am not familiar with bibnotes as an app. I do know of bib note tools for reference managers. When you say "doesn't destroy file contents", Obsidian doesn't either unless you tell it it can.

Nothing really.
Dataview is needed for inline metadata where as frontmatter can be understood by all plugins.
