      the RA R lacks the character of a 22b. with the 22B they completely redesigned the body unlike the RA-R, where all the did was add onto the original STI body. You can easily dial in performance after buying the car, but you can't as easily dial in charisma. And that's why the 22B will always be a cut above in price.
      Performance doesn't mean as much as you think and rarely ever coincides with price, i know guys with seriously fast hawkeye/blobeye wrx's (not even STIs) that would wipe the floor with that RA-R

Colin Mcrea died in a helicopter accident in 2007 and after that they were kicked out of the WRC for poor performance with the 08 models, so Fuji Heavy Industries switched from having them be homiligated race cars to selling by creature comforts, competing with cars like the Mazda 3. 3:58 - it is not manual ic spray button, it is auto/manual dccd button.
    5:16 - there is no such model s402, there is s204.
    And ra-r is not b road car, spec-c is not either. With oem springs - only smooth roads. I have one, believe me - b road is pain in the ass. :D

    • @ACCAW11
      @ACCAW11 Před 2 lety +1

      Neither was the 22B. Despite popular belief the 22B was not a homologation special. It was a celebration special made in tribute to their WRC constructors championship. Just like how the North American Type RA was produced to celebrate Subaru taking the NBR sedan lap record.

    • @tracktimevideos5164
      @tracktimevideos5164 Před 2 lety +1

      The Spec C RA was built for a purpose...First 4 door saloon car to lap the Nordsleife in under 8mins.

  • @grantrussell8288
    @grantrussell8288 Před 2 lety

    No, it won't be the "next big thing", because there's nothing special about it.
    As a longtime Subaru owner and fan, I have to say that NONE of Subaru's top-level models are really that impressive at all. The only reason the 22B is so beloved is because British motoring journalists created hype about it (the same thing you're doing in this video where you get a complete hard-on about 316hp).
    Nearly all of Subaru's special models are really just "parts catalog queens". Subaru usually makes them to show off their STi parts catalog. Even the 22B for the most part.
    The 22B was just an overweight WRX STi Type R Version 4, but with 0.2L more displacement. It amounted having a very small amount of additional torque, but it was actually slower than the standard WRX STi Type R model, because it was 177lb heavier. All of the parts on it were just from the Subaru parts bin.
    This spec C Type RA-R is just Subaru installing all of their parts from the catalog on a car, and making it seem special by telling you that there was only 300 made.
