He has all the gifts needed. Except for one thing 🧠
All I was hearing “I could have been great but”
Great to see Sergio on the Podcast, wish nothing but success for this guy. Big fan!
Always entertaining but hard to take Sergio serious
Hasn’t done the Olympia in 6 years, turning 40, has trained with everyone but still trying to figure things out 🤷🏻♂️
“Let me change my environment” that should do it
Moves to San Diego, moves to Dubai…
The whole moving to Spain training with Dorian is grasping at straws trying to find some outside motivating factor to continue competing but none of it seems to be sustainable for him.
All the signs point to… his passion for competing has waned and he doesnt know what to do with himself. He feels he HAS TO compete
Can he still win a pro show? YES of course
But beyond that his time has passed as far as winning a major title
Sergio is the most consistently inconsistent body builder.
In my opinion, one of the biggest waste of genetic potential ever if only he had the mental fortitude of some of the great champions who maybe had less or genetics, imagine how great he could be?
@jdgeibe yeah, he's lacking the mental aspect of it.
Somehow, he's always the victim of something.
@jdgeibe idk. When i saw him in person I saw his weaknesses. And strengths. Big as a house and wide. Huge structure but his waist was damn near as wide as his crazy shoulders. His lats are high and unimpressive. Insertions limit how impressive they will be. Flat chest and SMALL legs
😂😂😂
@@jdgeibe With him and his fathers name he could have build an empire/name bigger then arnold. But he's to busy arguing and telling his fans how stupid they are.
Sergio is definitely 41%
Probably 51% gay
He’s 100% gay
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Much much higher, a literal drama queen
Does not sound like he is taking responsibility for his lack of success. Just looking for someone to give him a contract for sub par performance or even competing often enough. A pro needs to be showing up in their best shape and competing unless they are actually hurt. Like a Nick Walker hamstring issue.... That was a real excuse for not competing. Nick then came back and won the NY Pro!
Yea, really interesting. Doesn't take responsibility for anything. Threw Aceto under the bus on the low.
Sergio is one of the most entertaining pros. If only he documented all this on YT. He's have one of the most popular channels!!
Sergio "His career is a Myth" Oliva Jr
Lmao chill 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The chances of Regan Grimes winning the Olympia is more that Sergio Oliva Jr "actually" competing LOL
😂😂😂😂😂
Regan & Serg get the Dennis James "Tank Top Olympia" award LOL -
I don’t know about that. He could always come in Lionel Bayeke style look like shit. Regan needs the replicate the instagram looks onstage
@@kurtjanicki7325😂😂😂brutal
Yup
Jay I met you at the Arnold Classic in 2001 and you were so friendly and polite and you took a picture with me! Just wanted to say Thankyou for your kindness from a Canadian fan!
You want to believe Sergio, because he sounds so genuine in this interview. But sadly he barely disclosed any details about what happened with all these off showings and even lack of showings. People have been in the dark for years and now he decides to come on and set the record straight.
Just really fishy and hard to take seriously
Please stop talking about Marbella/spain with how nice it is, we dont want it flooded with americans 😅😂
I was with him until he started complaining about Dorian’s training style, Dorian travelling and not being able to hold his hand in the gym, and the gym Dorian trains in being crap. Like dude! You have a relationship with Dorian! even if it wasn’t perfect, just say it was. Especially when you’ve said he is a great guy.
1000%.
No modern bodybuilders have the guts and dedication to train like dorian
This is the first time I like Sergio as a person in an interview!
Sergio always gives a great interview, I hope he finds a way of de stressing.
Great video. Great content. Love the Q & A topics that Jay and y'all brought up. 👌
C'mon Sergio of course Dorian only uses free weights...I don't know lot of excuses
The ending said it all. Matt and Jay had the look of “oh my god this backfired, let’s wait for these comments.”
Do you mean the last 2 minutes?
He’s such a dramatic headcase
Yup. PRIMADONNA PRINCESS
I like that he said he doesn't complain about shows and placing but he was certainly very vocal about his placing at the Arnold because he thought posing should've been more important in judging.
What BB isn't
100% he's a clown
You can tell he was raised by a women majority of his life !
Great Installment!! One of my faves. The Dubai stuff is wild! Won’t be visiting there! Thanks again Jay and Matt. You two make these long Cali commutes so much more enjoyable! If traffic is ever enjoyable? 💪🏼
I'm at the beginning. I find sergio annoying so this will be hard to finish, but he said he just found himself in dubai. How does that work when you sell your house and literally pack up??? You're in your mid 30s at that point. Who was paying his bills? How did he afford the bodybuilding lifestyle??
He had an Indian "sponsor". After the accident, Sergio left Dubai and went to train in Spain with Dorian. Nobody knows what really happened with that situation, but seeing Sergio's behavior throughout the years, it's not hard to guess. Yes, he's annoying, but still lives under the shadow of his father, so people are always hoping he'll get himself together.
Another great show! From my couch I've always been a fan of Sergio' Physique! Love to see this guy meet his potential. Forth wheel on & get the balance right! 💯
thanks for listening
I haven't seen the interview, but I bet the guy said he could be Mr O but, but, but and but... Let's see
Probably. I won’t watch this episode because Sergio is a total asshole IMHO. Very thin skinned and I didn’t appreciate his disrespectful reply to a question that I asked him on one of his IG posts 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
@@jdgeibehe actually was really humble and makes really good points about himself it’s worth the watch
@@anth2290does he though? He said he couldn’t train without Dorian holding his hand, he said it’s the short guy ere and he implys that he would stand out cause he’s “tall” so he could win shows easily, dude made so many excuses i wanted to shut it off
@@arcticreviews he really didn’t he said he wants to do one show with no extra bs and see if he still has it. He’s right the short guys are dominant right now that’s just what it is I’ve seen his interviews he was definitely way more humble here
When he's on a podcast hes always humble bragging like he's against all sorts of adversity but it's all self made problems. The pretentious over hyping Sergio is always on IG or comments
Great talk guys , as you mentioned, such natural, genuine but hugely motivating way to go . 💪
Amazing Podcast episode, I never imagine I will feel so in tune with Jr. I am sure he is speaking for many men out there feeling the same way.
With my eye's shut!
That was a traumatised Phil Heath on speed! ✌️
Nice way to do my morning cardio 🔥
Great episode!
He’s honest, gotta appreciate that
Love the longer casts! This one made me forget I was doing my afternoon cardio out in the hot sunshine! Thank you, love you guys! 💓💥💪
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a great one thnx Matt Jay
Enjoyed the podcast great stories🙌
So glad Sergio is back on the scene and in a good head space. Great guy and always value his opinions, would love to see him on stage next to Hunter as i’m a big fan of both, like it or not bodybuilding royalty, love your work guys much love from down under 💯🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🏽
Great episode! Really enjoyed listening to Sergio and his story.
OMG 😂🤣😂🤣
“Story” is right
Sergio has voice like bikini girl on anavar.
lmao
Terrific podcast! Sergio is very entertaining.. a really good storyteller. I think he should pursue other interests that allow him to capitalize on his innate talents . I don’t see him progressing any further in the sport competitively as he just doesn’t have the mental edge that the very best have which allows them to reach the type. No disrespect.. just would like to see him succeed and be happy without having to feel compelled to always explain why things don’t work it for him . He’s better than that in the scheme of things .
Yeah ! I live in Spain and it’s so hard to get things done but it’s a great way of living
❤ Sergio 💯 no homo at all
Bring him back ❤
Hope this podcast blows up utube
I want to see him really nail it for a show someday
We all do
So good to see Sergio back on the scene absolutely love his physique
Jay & Matt, I have been a huge fan of your podcast from the very first one but I have to say this one with Sergio has been the best I have seen yet. Sergio has a way about him that kept me riveted to every thing he talked about. I hope in the future he does well with his bodybuilding career but I also hope, once he settles in to Vegas, he decides to have his own podcast. Not to many people have the honesty and charisma to pull off a successful podcast and those are just 2 quality’s he projects. I just wanted to get my thoughts across and thank you especially for this podcast which, in my opinion was the best one you’ve had to date. If by chance you or Matt do take the time to read this please pass my sentiments along to Sergio. Thanks again for this podcast.
Preciate y’all for having Sergio on. Love his physique and he’s a genuine guy🙏🏼
Great episode. A fan of both SR and JR. Hoping he can put it together and dominate the stage. Was also a fan of Dorian’s (saw him compete) but training system sounds like an invitation to injuries which Yates unfortunately suffered from. Admittedly, you can’t achieve the highest level without some risks though.
He “never” makes excuse guys
Bruh how is Sergio gonna say in the age of social media "he never" did/said anything ....... Crazy stuff, being as the fans know that's cap
Good interview.
Good show!
Sergio is always an awesome interview! Jay, Sergio & Manager Matt is top tier podcasting!!! I sincerely wish the best for Sergio, we all want to see him fulfill his potential, he owes it to himself to make that happen. Once he's settled into Vegas and the work can begin, i just know with that atmosphere, surrounded by world-class gyms and more importantly world-class athletes and mentors he will most definitely elevate every aspect of his life. Sergio... You CAN DO IT! IT IS YOUR TIME!!! STAY STRONG AND GOD BLESS YOU SERGIO!!! 💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏
sergio is a clown and nothing respectable about him. the only pro to openly talk shit regularly about other competitors yet he himself his amounted to nothing in bb other than being the crybaby of the sport. sad.
The last 3 Cutler Cast have been deep chats
Great episode. I wish Sergio the best. Hope he goes to the O
Now that he’s back in Vegas I think he’s gonna do well. Life can punch you in the face but it’s how you respond. Looking huge.
Hey Jay, get Tom Paltz on your podcast.
As the son of a “successful” bodybuilder from the classic era, I’m a fan of Sergio’s underdog persona and trying to prove himself. I also understand and clearly see him “getting in his own way” …addicted to his own cloud of chaos. It’s clear as day (even when interacting with Jay), he needs to SHUT UP, LISTEN, LEARN and FOLLOW THROUGH with the EXACT instructions of those trying to help or are hired to help. He was looking INSANE while under Dorian’s watch…most of us would kill for that opportunity. Hope he realizes soon that “his way” is not working.
Thanks, Sergio, for giving mad respect to us older bodybuilders, who have been to shows, met golden era bodybuilders, and watched them compete in person. We follow social media, too, but also know that EVERYTHING matters on the day of the contest, what you look like, and who you stand next to. And thanks for mentioning Hunter, too, another link to the past and present. Great podcast, guys. Thanks for the content. Keep crushing it. 💯👍💪
Been a fan of Sergio for a while and will continue to be. Regardless of what he does or doesn’t do in bodybuilding hope he’s happy and healthy
thanks for the comment
It was a very interesting interview . It's an incredible journey from Sergio perspective.
I know Doriann didn't do direct glute exercises, but the HIT/one set to failure folks aren't. I think the Nautilus Hip and Back (hip extention) came out in the 1970s and the Nautilus hip ab/ad was the first version of that I was aware of.
lol the dubai story when you say they dont have drugs - boy you are so wrong haha. I lived there for a few years and its absolutely full of drugs in dubai
Sergio Sr mistakenly said in an interview that Jones trained him for the 72 Olympia. That is incorrect. Jones trained Sergio for the 1971 NABBA Pro Mr Universe which he lost to Bill Pearl. This was well publicized in the magazines at the time, leading up to the NABBA competition. Ellington Darden who worked with Jones has confirmed that Sergio trained with Jones in Deland Florida leading up to the 71 NABBA Pro Universe, but Sergio was not in Florida leading up to the 72 Olympia and Jones did not train him for that contest. I started following bodybuilding at that time so I saw the order of events as they took place.
Jesus christ this guy never stops crying 😂Dorian training him yet still complaining about the gym conditions 😂
Par for the course when it comes to Sergio
So sorry about you losing your dog Sergio, I recently lost my dog which was like my son!
Sucks that there are so many haters in the comments. Everyone makes mistakes.. everyone grows at a different pace, and has their own opinion. I just wish Sergio well.. and I don’t think anyone who’s a real fan of bodybuilding wouldn’t love to see him really put it together. Rooting for you man!
Sergio you mentioned Hunter but also Carlos Thomas Jr. grew up in the sport with his pops
I see why Sergio didn’t talk about Dubai while he was over there that’s so fucked up
It is a shithole
Enjoyed the pod Jay and Matt, cheers
Why didn't he talk about it?
@@AndrewChin-ck9uk He did some shit and was jailed.
@@AndrewChin-ck9uk cuz of the crazy laws and being in jail till they let you out he wanted to make sure he was gone before saying shit about the country I don’t blame him
Years ago, Weider mags barely showed Sergio. They were so all in on Arnold. When Sergio was asked back, he didn't think he'd be treated fairly. But I did think it was cool that Rick Wayne covered that history in Flex at the time. Maybe it was part of the deal to return. Sergio Jr. and Rick Wayne (if still around) could have an interesting conversation.
Love listening to Jay speak ... the way how he appreciates the struggle and actual come up just as much as the success.
Sorry guys, I skip this one. Sergio is as relevant as a cup of rice in china😂.
Same lol. Just came by to peep the comments and they are not disappointing. I think everyone feels that way
Same 🥱
@@bjmw93 same here.
Sergio’s life is like cheesecake
Dense and fulfilling 😂
Great episode with crazy sick story’s
Refreshing to hear from him
I can only imagine his latest drama 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
BISCUIT JR!?!
This is how a bodybuilding show is supposed to be!!!! Awesome.
Sergio “The Victim” Oliva
Jay asked him twice about what’s it like living in Dubai and Spain and Sergio never answered him so funny
Everyone in the comments had to stop with the hate bc he's brave enough to share the mental side of things when it comes to bodybuilding which many fear for this exact reason, it's not easy being a pro and he's open about that, for all those hating I would love to see you achieve the physique and mindset that this man has
💥 I'm so excited to have Sergio back‼️ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💪🏿💯🙏🏾
No disrespect to Jay, but this will probably be the one and only of his episodes that I do not watch because I do not care for Sergio as he was an asshole to me online for no reason🤔👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
WHAT did he say?
I actually used to be a fan of him until the asshole response he gave me on his IG🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🙄🙄
Interesting he said on Dave show that he wasn't in jail. NOW, he saying he was in jail. Also, the girl he meet in Dubai.. she moved with him to spain and then to the next place after knowing him for.. couple months? Whats her job? Just interesting
I like Sergio a lot. Hes a very genuine guy and gets a lot of hate that I think isnt necessarily deserved.
thanks for listening
Excellent Episode!! HGUERRA
Great episode ! Interesting drama that being arresting story very tense in that place! Ignore the haters they just jealous trolls ! Feed off their tears 😂
That was a great interview!
Let the haters hate, they have been in the shoes of Sergio or Hunter!! I respect both of them!!! If you can’t beat either one of them on stage, STFU!!!!!
Living in Spain 🇪🇸 for many years and Marbella is probably the most expensive place in Spain to live cost of living houses and food. So if think that is cheap you’d be shocked with some of the other coastal towns.
Lol
I’m a big fan of Sergio!
He has the potential to be Mr O. He has a lot of haters. I love that he does not sugar coat anything and speaks from the heart.
I wish him the very best of luck in all his future endeavors!
WASTED TALENT with too many excuses and a weak mind 💯💯💯💯
you maybe right. The same can be said about the great Flex Wheeler, Paul Dillett, Chris Cormier, Lionel Beyeke and even the late great and beloved Cedric McMillan (RIP). Flex cheated a lot on his prep. Chris partied too much. Dillett never really suffered. His conditioning was his Achilles heel was his conditioning or lack of. The same for Lionel Beyeke. Cedric had allegedly anxiety issues and it affected his conditioning at O. I still have hope for Cedric.
I don’t want to make excuses for the man. He is one of the few that tells it like it is and is transparent to his trials and tribulations.
I would love to see him get things together within the next 3-4 years. His window is closing.
Dubai sounds like hell on earth
Really a cool guy
Great episode
Sergio Reminds me of Regan Grimes. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!!
AMEN SAME POOP
Nick, Hadi,Derek at the Olympia:
Thanks for another great Cutlercast. Big up to Matt
Thanks for listening
Sergio is so honest... it's great
1:22:44 Agree!!!! Andrew Fucking Jacked is the man!!!!!! People are making a huge mistake counting him out. Milos hyped Samson up on every podcast, also part of a huge supplement company but man Andrew even without all that ‘hype’ its obvious that he is the freaking MAN!!! 🔥
He has insane shoulder's, biceps and quads...
His dad's diet and workout plan
Meal 1 - 1 cup of cooked oatmeal with 12 egg whites.
Meal 2 - 1 cup of cooked rice with 8-10 oz fish and tuna.
Meal 3 - 1 cup of cooked rice with a salad, fresh vegetables and 10-12 oz steak.
Meal 4 - (post workout) 8-10 oz chicken breast, 2 cups cooked oatmeal.
Meal 5 - Salad, fresh vegetables with 8-10 oz of fish.
Meal 6 - 1 cup cooked rice with 10 egg whites
Monday - Chest and Back (Bench, Dips, Flys, Chins)
Tuesday - Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps
Wednesday - Abs, Legs, Calves
Thursday - Chest and Back
Friday - Biceps and Triceps
Saturday - Abs and Legs
Sunday - REST
Interesting how he focused on direct shoulder work 1x per week but in theory he hit shoulders 3x per week on mon, tue and thu
You guys need to put on Kevin levrone
To get a visa in Spain as a non Eu passport holder you need 30k in your account or have a 8hr full time contract. Not so hard if you have those two things

What credentials does the guy in the red hat have to give his opinions on bodybuilding? Guy is annoying
None, we found him in the back alley one day, we felt bad so we gave him a job... Sincerely, Guy in Red Hat.

Hunter has lats that are too high that hurt him on the rear double biceps. He looks great in the rear lat spread though.
If this many years in Sergio still can’t find the “it” to compete and where to train and stuff it’s a lost cause for him unfortunately
