UofT convocation begins as pro-Palestinian encampment continues

- Despite an ongoing pro-Palestinian encampment, University of Toronto's spring convocation ceremonies commenced as scheduled, with numerous graduates receiving their diplomas on Monday.
The encampment, the subject of impending legal action by the university, stands near Convocation Hall, where thousands are expected to attend upcoming ceremonies until June 21.

@@Meyers1793 I don't know anymore. Homelessness has taken over East Hastings Vancouver. It's everywhere even in small towns. Drug use is epidemic. Foreigners whom do not have Canadian values are on the rise. They bring their religion Ways with them slowly changing the face of the country. I don't know anymore what Canada looks like it keeps changing for the worse. Everything I mentioned once was small now it's mainstream and hatred is growing And unity Is disappearing. I still don't understand how its legal for these people to set up encampments on other people's property for weeks and cannot be removed legally. I support the right to protest but this is just blatant law breaking that's being allowed for political reasons.

I think you are correct. When a church in the West Bank went beyond its proper mandate and tried to make a political statement, it refused to celebrate Christmas and put a keffiyeh on a figure of the Christ child.

These students are on the right side of history, just as student activists who pushed for divestment from Apartheid South Africa were in the 1980s.
The Jews were living in the Levant for at least 1,000 years before asslam was even invented. arab musl¡m invaders drove most of them out of their homeland during the middle ages, which is why the Ashkenazi & Sephardic Jews ended up in Europe.
