  • Rotha Chan, who was working as a cleaner for a private school in exchange for a free English class in Phnom Penh in late 1990s, is currently working as senior manager of Manulife, a Canada-based life insurance company in Cambodia. It was his commitment to education that enables him to escape the poverty net and become successful in both academic and career life.
TEDxPhnomPenh was held at Pannasastra University on June 9, 2012.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDxevents are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Great story to share, but you have problem with subtitle. I didn't went through that level of difficulty, but we do share something in common. I remember my dad always told me 'kit te pi rean tov, pa jes dos sray hery'. I also went to Royal University of Phnom Penh for Bachelor degree in computer science. Now I'm in Japan for master degree. Thanks to mum and dad and everybody that've been supporting me

I think there are mistakes with subtitle like " I decided to write a bike....."
but his speech is so inspired.
