My main issue with this is that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with its predecessor. No mention of Anne Marie, and it's set in modern day San Francisco, not 1930's New Orleans.

Here’s how I would have fixed this movie:
    1. Have Burt Reynolds come back as Charlie.
    2. Bring in Don Bluth and Gary Goldman as executive producers and consultants.
    3. Have Killer be in heaven, and when Carface teams up with Red, Killer feels ignored.
    4. Give it a bigger budget so it can justify being in theaters.
    5. Bring back King Gator in Heaven.

It would've been better if they go into the direction of Hook and Christopher Robin where Anne Marie grows up as a beautiful young woman in her early age of 20's who lost her ability to talk to animals anymore just like Robin Williams Peter Pan just his ability to fly where Charlie and Itchy trying to be reunited with her but she doesn't remember them or can't talk to them. Charlie and Itchy must find the way to be reunited with Anne Marie and learning the importance lesson of remember and loved. Charlie would have met grown up Anne Marie while sitting in the park bench while she's struggling to live her adult life and she must go back what's like being a kid again. Make Anne Marie as the main protagonist while Charlie and Itchy be the secondary main characters. It would have been an emotional heartwarming story of connecting your close family members and friends much like Disney's Christopher Robin, Pixar's Coco and Hook. 💖❤️

❤️💖 If Judith Barsi was still alive and survived, it would've been nice for her to reprised her role as Anne Marie in the sequel of All Dogs Go to Heaven 2. I truly missed Anne Marie as a character and Judith Barsi as an actress as well respectively.
Speaking of All Dogs Go to Heaven 2, it would've been better if they go into the direction of Hook and Christopher Robin where Anne Marie grows up as a beautiful young woman in her early age of 20's who lost her ability to talk to animals anymore just like Robin Williams Peter Pan just his ability to fly where Charlie and Itchy trying to be reunited with her but she doesn't remember them or can't talk to them. 💖❤️

Another notorious example of a last minute change is how Doug's 1st Movie was made to be DTV but they decided to suddenly switch it to a theater release because The Rugrats Movie became a huge hit (and Doug was originally Nickelodeon property before Disney tainted it), they thought it should be on the big screen when it should've been a TV movie or even straight-to-video. The irony is that it did better in VHS sales than in theaters so they should've stuck with their original choice. Also, the name is just wrong because it sounds like they believed that it was gonna be successful enough to have more of them made like with Pokemon.

I thought the film was... okay, for the most part, a decent sit-through. It's at least buoyed by the choice, inexplicable but understandable, to replace the voice of Charlie from Burt Reynolds to Charlie "Tiger Blood" Sheen. I literally can't unhear his character from Two and A Half Men, this feels like something he'd have done as Charlie Waffles, and just as drunk he was in the show to boot.
Also, part of the reason the film looks more "cartoony" is because the animation was done by David Feiss- amongst his other work is the Cartoon Cartoons "Cow and Chicken" and "I.M. Weasel", which share a similar style. I like it, it adds a unique style to the film, even if it is sacrilegious compared to Bluth's style.

I didn't even see the latter until I browsed CZcams years later, and it's much better. Granted I liked ADGTH 2 as a kid, but looking back at it years later (at least parts of it), it's a major downgrade. The animation is especially jarring with its inconsistent quality. The only things I kind of like about the movie nowadays are the visuals with the villain (design, poses, and transformations) and some of the songs. They're not the best, but 'It's Too Heavenly Here,' 'So Good to be Bad,' and 'I Will Always be with You' are fine to listen to.
