  • Kriega US-40 Rackpack: rvz.la/3wD8rXr
Deceivingly, the Kriega US-40 Rackpack is designed to work with pretty much every bike out there with or without a rack. It features a 420D Cordura Lite construction for ample abrasion resistance as well as a waterproof membrane that works with a roll-top enclosure to ensure everything you pack stays nice and dry.

I own both the us 30 and 20. I purchased the us 40 and I can't help but feel that they had downgraded in features with this bag. There are no zippered pockets and the loops aren't the metal ones you would get on the other bags. Instead you get loops that require you to fold the straps that are held with a velcro keeper. It's definitely not as convenient and efficient as the other bags. You'll definitely be taking more time securing this bag to your bike compared to the other bags.

Giant Loop Tillamook seems to be a good alternative, with its pseudo-semi-rigid design. Differences are small, except for the material used. I would prefer that over US-40 for heavy rain, but US-40 would probably last longer as PVC coated fabric (though proprietary coating) can crack on repeated bending in roll-top bags.

I wish motorcycle bag makers add some way to lock the and onto the vehicle, in case you need to step away for a bit. Kriega has fixtures for SteelCore straps on their soft panniers. They could have included that in this too, considering the volume of the bag.

I have said locking straps for my kriegas. They don’t provide much more than a visual deterrent as they can be picked with as little as a paperclip in a matter of less than 5 seconds.

@@dwent55 Did you try it or are you talking about the LPL video? Even that needed more than 5 seconds 😀

@@VarunBhargavan yes, I’m pretty competent at picking locks, and the one on the locking straps requires zero skill, or even specific picking tools. In fact, since the hasp is exposed, you don’t even need a tension bar as you can just turn it with your fingers. Pretty disappointing for the price of the straps. I did see that video though.

Good and all but expensive for what it is. Check out rhinowalk bags, pretty much same thing and I dare to say maybe an OEM but at a small fraction of the price.

Does anyone know if you can get backpack straps for these?

Can they be mounted on the side of the motorcycle?
I have a CT125 and thinking of mounting one on each side for my two week trip. Can't put directly on the rack cause the top case takes all the room.
I'm adding an extra heat shield to the exhaust also

Slow. Down. Man….. Why do all of you try to talk like you’re on 1.5 speed…? We, your audience and customers, want to hear what you are saying… 😂
